Project - Sustainable Tourist Itineraries

Description

Description (EN): The development of sustainable tourism, integrated with soft mobility and inter-modality, is a prospect of socio-economic growth for the entire cross-border area. The presence of protected natural areas, cultural and archaeological heritage represents the added value of the territories of Tuscany, Liguria, PACA, Corsica and Sardinia. The shared challenge tackled jointly consists of the identification and integrated management of a system of sustainable tourist itineraries, that seamlessly covers all territories of the partner area, in particular by promoting cycle and hiking tourism. The general objective is to increase the number of tourists and their presence throughout the year in the cross-border area, through a joint management plan for a sustainable tourist itinerary. The itinerary (feasibility study), the standards (technical documents), the joint promotion actions and the tools for unitary management (agreements, integrated plans, permanent working groups)will be identified. The changes expected are a greater collaboration between public authorities (PA), greater diversification of the tourism presence, implementation of the integration between tourism offer and intermodal offer, greater involvement of SMEs of the tourism sector, greater collaboration between PAs and SMEs, the creation of company networks/territorial and cross-border combinations for the provision and management of services, greater involvement of the local population and tourists for identifying new themed routes to be shared through ICT instruments. The best results can be achieved through a joint cross-border approach. The main beneficiaries will be PAs, Parks and cultural heritage sites, SMEs, tourists and citizens. The innovative aspects will regard the joint cross-border management methods, the services sector and promotion with expansive use of ICT technologies.
