Project - The hidden treasures of the Mediterranean

Description

Description (EN): The key idea of “The hidden treasures of the Mediterranean” is to increase the international competitiveness of the small/very small companies operating in the tourism sector located in internal and ‘hidden’ areas, through the networking (local networks then joined in a macro cross-border network) and the development of a WIDESPREAD HOSPITALITY system alternative to the hotel system, which combines residential stays (holiday homes, B&B, farm tourism, etc.) and associated activities (hiking, biking, green trains; tastings of typical products, etc.) related to the particularities of the areas concerned, which are: Valli Genovesi and Val d’Aveto (Liguria), the area of Sorgono (Sardinia), the Municipalities of Evisa and Tolla (Corsica). The territorial challenge that the companies are facing is attracting travellers to scarcely developed places unknown to tourists (in the face of coastal overcrowding), developing an attractive offering for a precise type of tourist, SLOW tourists (particularly foreigners) who, beyond just an overnight stay, seek experiences and a greater connection with the local culture. In order to gain a competitive market position a portfolio of the residential accommodation and associated activities (and typical products) in line with qualitative international standards will firstly be created, then themed tourism packages that cross the territories: the geographic and cultural proximity of the 3 regions will enable the construction of routes (from North to South) between Liguria, Corsica and Sardinia. The innovation of the project lies in the organisation: local networks will set up and jointly manage the widespread hospitality systems, while the macro cross-border network will manage the marketing of the BRAND (through the web portal and the network’s chain of sales outlets). An innovative orchestration portal will make the tourism product easier to manage (for network operators) and use (for tourists).
