Project - Cross-border startup accelerator

Description

Description (EN): The 5 regions of the MarittimoTech project share 4 priority supply chains that are opportunities for stimulating their economy marked by crisis and achieve the objectives of smart, inclusive and durable growth: boating - shipyard, sustainable tourism, biotechnologies and ‘blue’ and ‘green’ renewable energies. The development and quest for excellence of these sectors represent launch pads for young, creative, innovative and high potential companies with great economic and geographical ambitions. But the long-lasting success of these companies (low survival rates at 3 years and turnover comparable to the national averages) clashes with the scarcity of collaborative links and synergies between the different forces present (entrepreneurs, industries, universities, etc.) and the lack of funding. For this reason the 8 partners of MarittimoTech propose to design, develop, trial and keep alive a cross-border accelerator for startups specialised in the priority supply chains. MarittimoTech will provide the selected startups (aim of 45 startups in 2017-2018) with intense accompaniment lasting 4 months which involves: - Individual support and collective workshops (training services, legal, commercial and marketing tools, etc.) - Consultancy, accompanied by network connections and synergy possibilities (Masterclass) - Access to funding (cross-border roadshows). The Accelerator will be physical (on each territory in the project) and virtual (via a collaborative Franco-Italian platform). It will also be a laboratory of innovation with all of the actors involved who will collaborate and bring to light new markets or technological solutions. In this way, MarittimoTech offers the cooperation area with a cross-border mesh of knowledge and specialities, favouring the cross-border complementariness of the regional smart specialities.
