Description

Read more Description (EN): Lithuania and Latvia encounter a shortage of qualified specialists in the field of electrical engineering and high voltage technologies in maritime and shore industries due to changes in technologies and legislation. Common challenge will be jointly tackled by consortium of 5 educational institutions: LAJM, KTK (LT), LJK, RTUVF, VT (LV) providing most efficient resources: experience in education and training of specialists in mentioned field, knowledge of professional requirements, academic experience, etc. – in order to increase mobility and employability of Lithuanian and Latvian specialists in mentioned field.
The main project outputs are: 6 objects of education and training equipment installed in project partners’ institutions for the joint usage; upgraded qualification of at least 106 working specialists in joint activities, such as interexchange of experience, fieldtrips and internship, pilot training, meetings, etc. Students and teachers of project partners’ institutions, employees and employers from maritime and shore industries will be able to use jointly developed in the project 13 programmes of study subjects for students, 2 qualification upgrading programmes for adults, methodical materials of 14 titles in 3 languages. This project can be considered by international community as a good example of joint efforts to solve cross-border challenge.
Read more Achievements (EN): All different specialised laboratory equipment objects were installed by project partners to be used for joint training activities according to developed/upgraded study/training programmes: 1) High Voltage laboratory equipment (1 object): to acquire practical skills on real marine high-voltage installation; 2) Electrotechnical laboratory equipment for Basic Electricity Experiment Modules (1 object): to acquire practical skills in working with real electrical machines such as generators synchronization, asynchronous and synchronous motor starting; 3) High voltage testing equipment (1 object): to create the environment for the formation of practical skills corresponding to modern standards of labour market and science; 4) Technological simulator with one model with diesel-electric possibilities (1 object): to explore electrical equipment of ships and marine power plants by creating real life situations; 5) Electrical engineering laboratory (1 object): to learn to work using real equipment in Power and Electrical Engineering; 6) Mobile laboratory for professional orientation of specialties in the field of electrical engineering and high voltage technologies (1 object): to provide professional orientation and motivate youngsters choosing study programmes in the field of electrical engineering and high voltage technologies. The mobile lab equipment is aimed at alternative energy source uses, such as solar batteries, wind generators, and the use of water energy.
