La FAO estime qu’un tiers de la nourriture destinée à la consommation humaine dans le monde est gaspillé. Ces dernières années plusieurs projets ont traité ce sujet, en se focalisant sur l’aval de la chaîne alimentaire : vente et consommation. Ce projet mettra l´accent sur l’amont - responsable de 60% des déchets dans l´UE (FAO). Dans Food Heroes, ce mouvement vers un modèle circulaire est facilité par la collaboration entre les acteurs pour la conception et tests de solutions innovantes. Le projet aidera les régions ENO les moins innovantes à mettre en place un écosystème d’innovation où les secteurs de la création, de l’agro-alimentaire, des instituts de recherche et les pouvoirs publics pourront collaborer à la conception de solutions contre le gaspillage. 3 pilotes transnationaux aborderont des questions spécifiques sur le gaspillage alimentaire, impliquant 120 PME et permettant le développement, le test et la mise en œuvre de 15 solutions innovantes:< - Poissons: 1.810 tonnes (t) de déchets en Irlande dans le filetage de poisson blanc et 230.000 t en France. Réduction prévu- 468 t; - Fruits et légumes: 7,4M t de déchets en NWE actuellement. Réduction prévue de 4.100 t; - Poussins et chevreaux: 87M de poussins mâles de 1 jour tués et 202.000 boucs ne sont pas valorisés (NL, DE, NO-FR) actuellement. Réduction prévue de 0,5M de poussins mâles tués et 15.000 poulets mâles tués en moins, plus 3.250 boucs valorisés. Pour la pérennité des solutions : la diffusion de la méthodologie commune pour la co-conception créative de solutions innovantes, la démonstration des bonnes pratiques, les récompenses internationales Food Heroes et la participation aux plateformes comme World Design Expo 2017 (NL). Dans la long-terme -une large utilisation de solutions développées par plus de 450 PME 10 ans après la fin du projet. Le projet pourra réaliser ces résultats et effets grâce au réseau du partenariat de plus de 80.000 entreprises agro-alimentaires.

Description (EN):

FAO estimates that each year one-third of all food produced for human consumption in the world is lost[KM1] /wasted. In recent years several projects looked into this topic, with focus on the last parts of the chain: retail and consumers. This project will focus on the first parts of the chain responsible for 60% of EU’s food waste (FAO). In Food Heroes this drive towards a circular model is facilitated by collaboration among innovation stakeholders on design and testing of innovative solutions. In NWE territorial differences occur in innovation leadership. The project will help less innovative regions to implement an innovation ecosystem where the creative sector, agrifood sector, knowledge institutes and public authorities can collaborate in the design of solutions for food waste. In 3 transnational pilots specific issues of food waste/losses will be addressed, involving 120 SMEs and developing, testing and implementing 15 innovative solutions, leading to a waste reduction at the end of the project: Fish: currently 1,810 tons of waste in Ireland in filleting of white fish; 230,000 tons of waste in France. To be reduced with 468 tons. Fruits&vegetables: currently waste of 7.4M tons in NWE; to be reduced with 4,100 tons. Male chickens and goats: currently 87M 1-day male chicks are killed and 202,000 male goats are not brought to value in NL, DE, NW-FR; reduced killing of 0.5M male chicks; 15,000 male chickens and 3,250 male goats brought to higher value.< Roll out of developed solutions by dissemination of joint methodology for co-creative design, demonstration of best practices, international Food Heroes Award and participation in innovation platforms such as World Design Expo 2017 (NL). With long term effect of a wide roll out of developed solutions by more than 450 SMEs 10 years after project ends. We will deliver the results because of our relevant network of the partnership representing over 80,000 agrifood businesses in NWE.

Description (DE):

Nach Schätzungen der FAO landen jährlich weltweit 1/3 der produzierten Lebensmittel im Abfall. In den letzten Jahren haben sich Projekte mit der Verschwendung am Ende der Kette beschäftigt: Einzelhandel und Verbraucher. Dieses Projekt richtet sich an den Anfang der Kette, die für 60% der Verschwendung verantwortlich ist (FAO). Im Projekt führt dies zu einem Kreislaufmodell, dass durch die Zusammenarbeit innovativer Akteure und die Entwicklung und Anwendung innovativer Lösungen gefördert wird. In NWE bestehen territoriale Unterschiede in der Innovationsführerschaft. Das Projekt wird dazu beitragen, dass in weniger innovativen Regionen Innovations-Ökosysteme implementiert werden,wo Agrar- und Ernährungswirtschaft, Kreativwirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Behörden gemeinsam an Lösungen zur verschwendung arbeiten. In 3 transnationalen Pilotvorhaben werden spezifische Fragestellungen der Verschwendung bearbeitet. 120 KMU sind in die Entwicklung, Erprobung und Umsetzung von 15 innovativen Lösungen eingebunden, die am Ende des Projekts zu einer Reduktion der Lebensmittelverschwendung führen. Fisch: In IE 1.810 t Abfall beim Filetieren von Weißfisch; 230.000 t in F. Reduktion um 468 t. - Obst & Gemüse: 7,4 Mill. t Abfall in NWE. Reduktion um 4.100 t.- Männliche Küken & Ziegen: Tötung von 87 Mio 1 Tages-Küken und 202.000 Ziegenböcken in NL, DE, NW-FR die als Abfall behandelt werden. Reduktion der Tötungen von 0,5Mio; 15.000 Küken und 3.250 Böcke werden einer höheren Verwertung zugeführt. Die Roll-out der entwickelten Lösungen erfolgt durch die Verbreitung der co-kreative Methoden, der Demonstration von Best Practise, dem internationalen Food Heroes Award und die Teilnahme an Innovationsplattformen wie die World Design Expo 2017 (NL). Langzeiteffekte werden durch die weite Verbreitung der entwickelten Lösungen mit mehr als 450 KMUs nach 10 Jahren erreicht. Angesichts des Netzwerkes von 80.000 KMU im Lebensmittelssektor kann das Projekt diese Ergebnisse liefern.

Fruits & vegetables: few reliable data exist; 88M tons EU food waste (FUSIONS) of which 50% by NWE countries (Eurostat); fruits & vegs 17% of total food waste in UK (WRAP); baseline: 7.4M tons waste in NWE (2012). Fish waste in Ireland 1,810 tons from filleting white fish (BIM/IFA 2014); 230,000 tons fish waste from discards in FR; 70,000 tons in Brittany of which 46% white fish (2012). Animals: 87M one day old male chicks killed; 202,000 male goats not brought to value in NL, DE, NW-FR (2015).
