The Volunteer project aims to support NGOs in the Hungarian-Slovakian CB region and to promote CB civil society and identity. Volunteering is one of the cornerstones of a healthy civil society, therefore our project's main goal is to launch CB capaci ty building and network building focused on volunteering. The project will improve the level of CBC between citizens and organisations employing volunteers through the promotion of social participation and mutual exchange of experiences, and by assi sting organisations in widening their CB volunteer base and in creating joint volunteer exchange programs. During the implementation of the project we will assess the NGOs’ needs and cross-border capacities, and the volunteering potentials in the HU -SK CB region. We will strengthen NGOs, public institutions and other organisations employing volunteers in the CB region via capacity building that will include workshops, training sessions, and the sharing of best practices; and also via training coordinators with the aim of building a CB network of midlevel coordinators to manage volunteers in the region. We will develop a bilingual online platform to connect volunteers with volunteering opportunities, while we will also develop an e-learni ng training program for NGOs and coordinators. We will promote volunteer exchange opportunities and related network building in the CB region through a volunteer exchange pilot with participants who will be actively involved in CB volunteer exchange , and by mentoring NGOs to prepare them for working with volunteers. We will carry out a campaign that will promote volunteering and participation in CB nonprofit activities. This will include a documentary film, a social media campaign and a TV cam paign. Our activities will result in strengthening CB cohesion and cooperation, improving mutual understanding and rapprochement, creating a shared CB identity and empowering the nonprofit sector in the CB region.

Cieľom projektu je podporovať občianske združenia (NGO), posilnenie regionálnej identity a civilnej komunity v maďarsko-slovenskom pohraničí prostredníctvom zvyšovania počtu dobrovoľníkov a budovania občianskych sietí. Chceme občianskym združeniam v pohraničí pomáhať v účinnom využívaní občianskych sietí. Počas realizácie projektu zmapujeme dobrovoľnícky potenciál v Slovensko-Maďarského pohraničného regiónu. Posilníme dobrovoľnícke organizácie (NGO, verejné inštitúcie, iné organizácie) v pohraničnom regióne prostredníctvom zvyšovania dobrovoľníckych kapacít vďaka tréningov, workshopov a výmenou príkladov dobrej praxe, a taktiež organizujeme tréningy pre koordinátorov, cieľom ktorých je vzdelávanie koordinátorov stredného stupňa z ktorých sa následne vytvorí sieť koordinátorov. Rozvíjame dvojjazyčné online služby na vytváranie kontaktu medzi dobrovoľníkmi a možnosťami dobrovoľníctva, ale vytvoríme aj e-learning tréning pre neziskové organizácie a dobrovoľníkov. Podporujeme výmenu dobrovoľníkov v pohraničnom regióne a s tým súvisiace sieťovanie v rámci pilotného výmenného program, kde účastníci program sa aktívne podieľajú na regionálnej výmene dobrovoľníkov, a v rámci ktorého poskytujeme mentoring pre NGO, aby boli pripravený na prijatie dobrovoľníkov. Uskutočníme mediálnu propagáciu dobrovoľníckej práce, a práce NGO v regióne na sociálnych sietiach a v televízie, v rámci ktorého pripravíme aj dokumentárny film. Vďaka nášmu projektu sa môže posilniť kohézia regiónu, ako aj spolupráca, a vzájomné porozumenie, ale taktiež sa môže vytvoriť jednotná regionálne identita, a môže sa vyvíjať aj nonprofit sektor regiónu.

Projektünk a civil szervezetek (NGO-k) támogatására, a regionális identitás és civil társadalom erősítésére irányul a magyar-szlovák határrégióban. Az önkéntesség az egészséges civil társadalom egyik alapköve, ezért projektünk fő célja, hogy támogassa kapacitásfejlesztést és civil hálózatok építését az önkéntességre fókuszálva. A projekt fejleszti az egyének és az önkénteseket foglalkoztató szervezetek közti határon átívelő együttműködéseket a társadalmi részvétel és a kölcsönös tapasztalatcsere facilitálása által, valamint azzal, hogy segíti a szervezeteket abban, hogy szélesítsék régiós önkéntes bázisukat és önkéntescsere-programokat indítsanak el. A projekt megvalósítása során felmérjük az NGO-k szükségleteit és régiós kapacitásait, illetve az önkéntes potenciált a magyar-szlovák határrégióban. Megerősítjük a határrégió NGO-it, közintézményeit és más önkénteseket foglalkoztató szervezeteit kapacitásfejlesztéssel, amely magában foglal többek közt workshopokat, tréningeket és a jó gyakorlatok cseréjét, valamint koordinátori tréningeket szervezünk, melyekkel az a célunk, hogy kiképezzük a középszintű koordinátorok önkénteseket irányító régiós hálózatát. Kétnyelvű online platformot fejlesztünk az önkéntesek és az önkéntes lehetőségek összekapcsolására, illetve összeállítunk egy e-learning képzési programot NGO-k és koordinátorok részére. Elősegítjük a régiós önkéntescsere-programokat és a kapcsolódó hálózatépítést egy önkéntescsere-pilotprogrammal, amelynek alanyai aktívan részt vesznek majd a régiós önkéntes cserében, és amelynek keretében NGO-kat mentorálunk, hogy felkészítsük őket önkéntesek fogadására. A régióban zajló önkéntességet és nonprofit tevékenységeket népszerűsítő kampányt bonyolítunk le a közösségi médiában és a televízióban. Ennek keretében egy dokumentumfilmet is készítünk. Projektünk nyomán megerősödhet a régiós kohézió és együttműködés, fejlődhet a kölcsönös megértés, létrejöhet egy közös régiós identitás és fejlődhet a régiós nonprofit szektor.

Achievements (EN):

The Volunteer Project was dreamed up and implemented between September 2017 and April 2019 by Budapest-based Subjective Values Foundation, Corvinus University of Budapest, and Slovakian TAMDEM, n.o. The aim of the partners was to develop cross-border cooperations between individuals and organizations employing volunteers. One of the key elements of the project was the development and implementation of the training program, which involved the successful training of 43 young people, making them capable of fulfilling the role of a middle-level volunteer coordinator. The practice-focused training was supplemented by an e-learning training material, developed within the project, to help the participants deepen the knowledge they acquired. A bilingual online platform was created to connect volunteers with volunteering opportunities, which also served as a basis for the volunteer exchange pilot program within the project. The pilot enabled 22 youngsters to take advantage of cross-border opportunities and volunteer at various Slovakian and Hungarian events. Mentoring workshops were organized for 5 NGOs and other organizations employing volunteers in the border region. These capacity-building workshops supported the development of their activities and enabled the collection and exchange of good practices. To further promote capacity-building, 8 expert studies were commissioned to provide an overview of the background and know-how of the region, which is a novel endeavor locally. Besides creating the foundations for and supporting the professional activities, a large-scale promotional campaign was carried out to promote volunteering and non- profit activities in the region. The project culminated in a professional conference and press event to share the experiences gathered during the 3 years of the project with the public, in order to further deepen positive attitudes towards volunteer employment.
