Description (EN):

“Preservation of traditions in Martovce - Neszmély” will contribute to better social, economic and territorial cohesion by organising joint cultural activities and activities concerning infrastructure building in the beautiful Danubeland villages Mar tovce (SK) and Neszmély (HU). Project will increase the attractiveness of this part of the HUSK border area through development of cross-border infrastructure for eco-tourism and this way contribute to smart, sustainable and inclusive growth of the villages and their surroundings. The activities of the proposed project will be carried out in an environmentally sound way with a view to guaranteeing the higher attention toward the natural and cultural values of the villages. Closer strategic coo peration will start in this two small villages for protecting natural and cultural heritage of Martovce and Neszmély. In both villages are organised events with regional and cross-border importance. In Neszmély the “Bridge Building Days” are organis ed yearly with complementary event on the SK of border – wandering from village to village – always on another place. Event includes the beautiful “evening floating candle ritual on Danube”. In Martovce regional events are organised within Feszty Par k, or by municipality. VIA NOVA with all SK scope is organising here the cross-border event “Martfest” and other events with raising popularity. The purpose proposed project was developed is to create COMMON COMPLEX TOURIST PACKAGES of the two villag es, to educate “Local Hosts” and to build appropriate infrastructure for this purposes. The target groups are population of GERECSE (HU) and DANUBE (SK) areas, local communities, entrepreneurs, tourists and non-profit organisations.

„A hagyományok megőrzése Martoson – Neszmélyben“ hozzájárul a gazdasági és területi kohézióhoz, országos jelentőségű kulturális rendezvények valósulnak meg az épített infrastruktúrának köszönhetően a festői Dunamenti területen elhelyezkedő Martoson (SZK) és Neszmélyen (HU). A projekt specifikus célja növelni a határmenti régió látványosságait, fejleszteni az ökoturisztikai infrastruktúrát a határmenti régióban így hozzájárulni az intelligensen fenntartható növekedéshez mindkét községben és az őket körbevevő régióban. A projekt aktivitásai különös tekintettel az élő környezet védelmében kerülnek megvalósításra, kimeneti állapotként biztosítani a nagyobb odafigyelést a természeti és kulturális értékekre mindkét községben. A kis községek szorosabb stratégiai együttműködésbe kezdenek azzal a céllal, hogy megőrizzék Martos és Neszmély kulturális és természeti örökségét. Mindkét településen jelenleg is szerveződnek regionális és határon átivelő jelentőségü programok. Neszmélyen minden évben megvalósitásra kerülnek a „Hidverő napok“, amelynek kiegészitő eseményei Szlovákiában valósulnak meg rotációsan, mindig más-más községben. Legszebb része az „éjszakai rituális gyertyák úszása a Dunán.“ Martoson regionális jelentőségü eseményre kerül sor a Feszty-parkban. A VIA NOVA országos szinten és egyre növekvő népszerűséggel szervezi meg a MartFest eseményt és más hasonló rendezvényeket. A projekt célja fejleszteni egy közös komplex turisztikai csomagot mindkét községben, „kiiskoláztatni“ önkéntes segitőket és erre a célra a megfelelő infrastruktúrát kiépiteni. Célcsoport a gerecsei (HU) és a dunamenti (SZK) térség lakosai, helyi közösségei, vállalkozói és az ide látogató turisták.

“Zachovávanie tradícií v Martovciach – Neszmély” prispeje k zvýšeniu hospodárskej a územnej kohézie, budú organizované kultúrne aktivity nadregionálneho významu a budovaná infraštruktúra v prekrásnom Podunajskom území v obciach Martovce (SK) a Neszmély (HU). Špecifickým cieľom projektu je zvýšenie atraktivity tejto časti HUSK hranice cestou rozvoja ekoturistickej infraštruktúry v cezhraničnom území a tým prispieť k inteligentnému, trvaloudržateľnému a inkluzívnemu rastu oboch dedín a ich okolia. Aktivity projektu budú realizované s významným ohľadom na ochranu životného prostredia s výhľadom na zabezpečenie väčšej pozornosti voči prírodným a kultúrnym hodnotám oboch dedín. Malé malebné obce naštartujú užšiu strategickú spoluprácu s cieľom záchrany kultúrneho a prírodného dedičstva Martoviec a Neszmélyu. V oboch dedinách sú už v súčasnosti organizované podujatia regionálneho a cezhraničného významu. V Neszmély sú každoročne organizované „Dni Mostu priateľstva“, ktorého doplnkové aktivity sa konajú na SK strane formou rotácie stále v inej obci. Najkrajšou časťou je „večerný rituál plávajúcich sviečok na Dunaji“. V Martovciach sa konajú podujatia regionálneho významu organizované neziskovou organizáciou Feszty parku, alebo obcou. VIA NOVA s celoštátnou pôsobnosťou tu s rastúcou popularitou organizuje „Martfest“ a iné podujatia. Zmyslom predkladaného projektu je rozvíjať SPOLOČNÉ KOMPLEXNÉ TURISTICKÉ BALÍKY oboch obcí, vzdelávať „Domácich hostiteľov“ a vybudovať na tento účel vhodnú infraštruktúru. Cieľovými skupinami sú obyvatelia územia GERECSE (HU) and PODUNAJSKA (SK), miestne komunity, podnikatelia, turisti a mimovládky.

Achievements (EN):

A partnership connecting the villages of Martovce and Neszmély along the banks of the Danube, contributing to an increasing attractiveness of the SK-HU border region and the development of cross-border relations. The municipality of Martovce, in cooperation with its partners - Neszmély and VIA NOVA - ICS - participated in the implementation of the project “Preservation of traditions in Martovce - Neszmély”, under the Interreg V-A SK-HU Cross-border Cooperation Programme, funded by ERDF. The aim of the project was mainly to achieve tourism development by increasing the attractiveness of the border area, as well as to improve the quality of infrastructure and services in order to contribute to an sustainable and inclusive development of both municipalities and their surroundings. A true expansion of tourism required initiative on several levels, from the development of existing infrastructure or the renovation of key buildings to joint, comprehensive program packages and trainings of local hosts. In order to improve the conditions for the organization of outdoor and indoor events in Martovce, such as Winefest and Martfest, or the traditional Bridge Building Days , a so called event park has been established - two stages were built - a larger one (255 m2) and a smaller one (50 m2). The development activities of the municipality included, extensive construction works, such as the reconstruction of the roof of the A. Feszty Cultural Park Center, construction of the Emese rope park, reconstruction of the Tibor Ág Cultural Center and, last but not least, a multifunctional playground. To expand the range of leisure activities available to locals and incoming tourists, the necessary equipment was purchased, including traditional yurts, teqball and archery equipment, or a replica of a famous painting of A. Feszty. The partner municipality – Nezmély – invested the project funds with a similar purpose in mind - a rest area for cyclists and a parking lot have been built, thus expanding the possibilities for cyclists passing through the target area. Subsequently a building providing space for exhibitions and social events has been constructed, as the village lacked an infrastructure of such a nature. In accordance with the long-term plans of the municipality, landscaping and planting works have been ensured as well, particularly in the area of a local public park. The Via Nova ICS association participated in the development of tourist packages, including promotional videos focused on the attractions of the two municipalities and a comprehensive tourist information publication. In order to provide quality services in the field of tourism, selected individuals, so-called “Local hosts”, have attended courses aimed at broadening their knowledge related to the environmental status, historical, natural and cultural conditions of the border region. The project also provided space for the organization of several professional events, including a tourist conference in Martovce, which took place in June, or thematic workshops in the village of Neszmély.
