Regéc, Streda nad Bodrogom, Veľký Kamenec, Veľká Ida – on the imaginary route between the settlements, running from castle to castles, some legendary figures of our history create a link between memories of the built past and tourists of the present. Regéc, where Ferenc Rákóczi II. grew up, and a central location of the kuruc battles. Streda nad Bodrogom, where Lajos Kossuth started his career. Veľká Ida, where the estate of the historic Csáky family is located. Veľký Kamenec, as the place of ma ny historic events of Zemplén county including major battles. The row of castle to castles, however, are often in a state of neglect or only partially renovated, and the exhibitions of novel content and form that would be attractive to visitors, as w ell as the necessary publicity, are missing. In each of the settlements in the border region participating in the partnership problems include loss of population due to migration and the scarcity of local employment opportunities. A common challenge and also an opportunity for the settlements is to renew and present these inherited cultural and natural values in a way that they become more attractive as part of a border-region circuit tour for tourism: by attracting visitors to a “fortress and castle” tour of several days, this can contribute to increasing the number of visitors, and thereby strengthen the economic potential. The direct aim of the project is the reconstruction of cultural heritage sites on the settlements concerned: the a uthentic reconstruction of the palace wing of the fortress of Regéc, the development of the castle in Streda nad Bodrogom and Veľká Ida, creating interactive exhibition and leisure spaces, as well as the development of the infrastructure for bicycle tourism in the region. The development also contributes to the keeping of the local communities, strengthening their self-consciousness, finding out more about the border regions, as well as strengthening natural and cultural tourism.

Regéc, Streda nad Bodrogom, Veľký Kamenec, Veľká Ida – obce medzi ktorými, od hradov ku kaštieľom, na pomyslenej ceste vytvorili legendárne osobnosti spojenie medzi historickými budovami a turistom zo súčasnosti. Regéc, kde strávil František II. Rákoczi veľkú časť svojho detstva a miesto kde bolo stredisko Kuruckých bojov. Streda nad Bodrogom, kde strávil Kossuth Lajos začiatky svojej kariéry, Veľká Ida ako rodinné sídlo významného rodu Csákyovcov, Veľký Kamenec, ako dejisko krvavých bitiek a historických udalostí Zemplína. Za sebou nasledujúc ako navlečené perly sú hrady a kaštiele, avšak veľmi často v zanedbanom alebo len čiastočne zrekonštruovanom stave, bez akýchkoľvek atrakcií pre turistov, bez novodobých interaktívnych výstav a bez akejkoľvek publicity. Partnerské obce prihraničného regiónu zdieľajú rovnaký problém týkajúci sa nedostatku pracovných miest a sťahovania sa obyvateľstva do iných regiónov. Spoločnou výzvou a zároveň príležitosťou obcí je zrekonštruovať a predstaviť svoje kultúrne a prírodné dedičstvo takým spôsobom, aby vytvorili pre turistov atraktívny okruh: viacdňovú túru „z hradu na kaštieľ“ , ktorá by prispela k zvýšeniu návštevnosti regiónu a k zlepšeniu hospodárskeho potenciálu. Hlavným cieľom projektu je rekonštrukcia kultúrnych pamiatok partnerských obcí: obnova časti hradného paláca v obci Regéc, rozvoj kaštieľov v Strede na Bodrogom a vo Veľkej Ide, vytvorenie interaktívnych výstav, miest pre trávenie voľnočasových aktivít, ako aj rozvoj cyklo-turistickej infraštruktúry v danom regióne. Projekt taktiež prispieva k udržaniu miestnych komunít, posilneniu ich povedomia a lokál patriotizmu, k poznaniu pohraničného regiónu, k rozširovaniu kultúrneho a ekologického turizmu.

Regéc, Bodrogszerdahely, Nagykövesd, Nagyida – a települések közötti, a vártól a kastélyokig terjedő képzeletbeli úton történelmünk legendás alakjai teremtenek kapcsolatot a múlt épített emléke és a jelenkor turistája között. Regéc, mint II. Rákóczi Ferenc gyermekkorának színhelye és a kuruc harcok egyik központi helyszíne. Bodrogszerdahely, mint Kossuth Lajos pályafutásának kezdete. Nagyida, mint a történelemben előkelő szerepet játszó Csáky-család birtoka. Nagykövesd, mint a Zemplén vármegyei történelmi események és véres ütközetek színtere. Az egymást követő, mintegy láncszemként felfűzhető várak és kastélyok azonban gyakran elhanyagolt vagy csupán részlegesen felújított állapotban vannak, hiányoznak a látogatókat vonzó, újszerű tartalommal és formával rendelkező kiállítások, és hiányzik a megfelelő publicitás. Határ menti térségként a partnerségben részt vevő települések mindegyikén probléma az elvándorlás és a helyi munkalehetőségek szűkössége. A települések közös kihívása és egyben lehetősége ezt az örökölt kulturális és természeti értéket olyan formában megújítani és bemutatni, hogy az egyfajta határ menti turisztikai körútba kapcsolódva vonzóvá váljon: több napos „vár- és kastélytúrára” csábítva a látogatókat hozzájáruljon a térség látogatószámának növekedéséhez, ezáltal a gazdasági potenciál erősödéséhez. A projekt közvetlen célja a kulturális örökség helyszíneinek rekonstrukciója a partnerségbe tömörülő településeken: a regéci vár palotaszárnyának korhű rekonstrukciója, a bodrogszerdahelyi és a nagyidai kastély fejlesztése, interaktív kiállítóterek, szabadidős helyszínek létrehozása, valamint a kerékpáros turizmus infrastruktúrájának fejlesztése az adott térségben. A fejlesztés egyúttal hozzájárul a helyi közösségek megtartásához, erősítve öntudatukat, a határ menti régiók megismeréséhez, a természetközeli és kulturális célú turizmus terjedéséhez.
