Mit der heutigen Herstelltechnologie für Schweißzusatzdrähte stößt man an Grenzen des mehrstufigen Drahtziehens, wenn man über die Standardlegierungen hinaus höherfeste oder weniger duktile Sorten verarbeiten will. Das LKR hat für die schwer verarbeitbaren AlMgScZr Legierungen eine neuartige Prozesskette entwickelt, die das direkte Strangpressen von Bolzen als Massivumformschritt nutzt, was auf die kommerziellen Legierungen übertragen werden soll. Im Labor können nur Drahtlängen von max. 10m hergestellt werden – viel zu kurz für eine Kommerzialisierung. Der Grund für BAWeRIA ist das Interesse an einer kontinuierlichen Herstellroute für Drähte, die einen kontinuierlichen Strangpressvorgang beinhaltet und dafür eine integrierte, kontinuierliche Bolzenzuführung benötigt. Notwendig ist es somit, einen kontinuierlich gegossenen Bolzen mittels einer neuartigen Verfahrenstechnik herstellen und direkt „inline“ weiterverarbeiten zu können; das Konsortium hat hierfür den horizontalen Strangguss als zentrale Technologie identifiziert, der allerdings bisher weltweit nur in Durchmessern Dmin größer als 28mm realisiert wurde. Diese Technologie muss weiter entwickelt werden, um Stränge gleichbleibender Qualität im kleinen Querschnitt (D=20mm) als auch in kommerziellen Stranglängen herstellen und gleich im kontinuierlichen ASCON-Prozess (direkte Extrusion) zu mehrsträngigen Drahthalbzeugen zu verpressen. Die Vision von BAWeRIA ist es, an einer neuen Fertigungsstätte in Bayern oder Österreich von der Schmelze bis zum gezogenen Draht alle Kernprozesse integriert zu betreiben und damit weltweit neue Standards zu Legierungen, Kosten & Lieferzeiten für Standard- und neue Schweißdrahtlegierungen zu setzen. Mit dieser Technologie können auch weitere Märkte für Drähte (Klammern oder Zusatzwerkstoffe nichtschmelzender Fügeverbindungen) durch MIG WELD oder auch Anwender des optimierten HSG-Prozesses via HPI bedient werden.

With today's manufacturing technology for welding filler wires, one pushes the limits of multi-stage wire drawing, if you want to process higher strength or less ductile grades beyond the standard alloys. The LKR has developed a novel process chain for the difficult-to-process AlMgScZr alloys, which uses the direct extrusion of bolts as a massive forming step, which is to be transferred to commercial alloys. In the laboratory only wire lengths of max. 10m are far too short for commercialization. This new technology has to be further developed. The vision of BAWeRIA is to operate all core processes integrated in a new production facility in Bavaria or Austria from the melt to the drawn wire, setting new global standards for alloys, costs and delivery times for standard and new welding wire alloys.

Expected Outputs (DE): Durch den Bedarf an der Abarbeitung des eingereichten Projektes kommt es zu einer intensiveren Vernetzung der Firmen- und Forschungspartnern im Programmraum. Nach dem Projektende sind weitere Kooperationen in dieser Konstellation absehbar und erwünscht.
