The need of the wine industry to employ sustainable means of agricultural production when fighting two disease, mildew and blight, is what caused 17 enterprises, 2 research centres and 1 university to come together to develop a DSS implemented in 2 different areas surrounding the border (Collio/Brda and the Slovene Littoral) consisting of an environmental monitoring system associated with 2 agronomic forecasting models, customised for each specific geographical area and integrated in the dedicated software.

La necessità del settore vitivinicolo di utilizzare metodi sostenibili di produzione agricola nella lotta contro due patologie, la peronospora e l’oidio, rappresenta la leva che ha raggruppato 17 imprese, 2 centri ricerca e 1 università nello sviluppo di un DSS implementato in 2 diverse aree transfrontaliere (Collio/Brda e Litorale) e composto da un sistema di monitoraggio ambientale associato a 2 modelli previsionali agronomici, personalizzati sulle specifiche aree geografiche e integrati in un apposito software.

Potreba vinskega sektorja za uporabopo prehodu proti bolj trajnostnihim metodam kmetijske predelave v boju proti peronospori in oidiju predstavlja vzvod, ki je združil 17 podjetij, 2 raziskovalni središči in 1 univerzo pri razvoju sistema za podporo pri odločanju na obeh čezmejnih območjih (Collio / Brda in Litorale). SZPO bo sestavljen iz sistema za spremljanje stanja okolja, le-ta pa bo povezan z napovedanima agronomskima modeloma, ki bosta prilagojena lokalnim geografskim razmeram ter bosta integrirana v posebno programsko opremo.

Achievements (EN):

18 wineries of Italian Collio area, 1 winery from Slovenian Istria, 1 SME of ICT sector, 1 research centre in biotechnologies, 1 university, through the coordination of 1 research centre specialized in technology transfer, set up a network of cross-border cooperation which allowed: the adoption and testing of the WiForWine SUSGRAPE technology in vineyard management, as a tool to support greater sustainability of necessary agricultural processes to prevent downy mildew and powdery mildew; the start of "fine-tuning" process (for the specific microclimates of Italian Collio and Slovenian coastal area) of the 2 epidemiological forecasting models, developed as part of the project, to prevent the aforementioned vine’s fungal diseases; take an important first step in microbiological research about bacterial population in vine leaves, aimed at contributing in the fight against downy mildew and powdery mildew through biological contrast agents. 12 training workshops were organized involving about 350 secondary school and university students: 5 workshops were dedicated to agrometeorological monitoring technologies and agronomic forecasting modeling for the fight against vine plant’s fungal diseases; 7 workshops on the potentiality of microbiological research if applied agriculture, with the aim of increasing the environmental sustainability of the same agricultural practices.

Expected Results (IT):

Il progetto intende promuovere le capacità di innovazione e di acquisizione di nuove tecnologie da parte delle imprese e PMI dell'area transfrontaliera italo-slovena, attraverso lo sviluppo di sinergie e di reti transfrontaliere tra imprese del settore vitivinicolo, PMI operanti nel settore dell’ICT, Centri di Ricerca, Università e favorendo processi di ecoinnovazione che consentano un uso più efficiente delle risorse naturali e la riduzione dell’uso di prodotti chimici in agricoltura.

Cilj projekta je spodbujanje razvoja inovacij in implementacija novih tehnologij s strani podjetij in MSP načezmejnem italijansko – slovenskem območju, z razvojem sinergij in s čezmejnim mrezenjem podjetij iz vinskega sektorja, MSP-jev iz sektorja IKT, raziskovalnih središč in univerz ter spodbujanje ekoloških inovacij, ki omogočajo učinkovitejšo rabo naravnih virov in zmanjšanje uporabe kemikalij v kmetijstvu.

Il primo risultato del progetto è la costituzione di una rete di cooperazione transfrontaliera stabile tra 17 imprese, 2 centri ricerca e 1 università (come soci fondatori ai quali potranno in seguito aggiungersi anche altri soggetti) che si impegna a collaborare sia dal punto di vista dello sviluppo del tessuto imprenditoriale che da quello della ricerca scientifica e applicata, nel comune interesse di ricercare soluzioni innovative a supporto del settore vitivinicolo e agricolo, apportando importanti ricadute per tutto il territorio della fascia transfrontaliera italo-slovena. Nel dettaglio la rete è focalizzata:•nello sviluppo e diffusione di tecnologie a supporto di tecniche agricole sostenibili, quali la previsione e diagnosi precoce scientificamente valide di agenti patogeni per le colture e la riduzione del consumo idrico; •nella ricerca scientifica legata all’azione delle popolazioni batteriche nella qualità e quantità del prodotto finale, oltre che nella salute della vite (e in futuro di altre piante da frutto), con il fine ultimo dell’individuazione e sviluppo di agenti di lotta biologica, i biopesticidi specifici di derivazione naturale per gli agenti patogeni oidio e peronospora. A testimonianza di questo, SUSGRAPE produce due studi scientifici transfrontalieri relativi all’analisi genetica delle popolazioni batteriche che caratterizzano la pianta di vite e ne condivide i risultati attraverso 4 workshop formativi sulle potenzialità della microbiologia applicata all’agricoltura rivolti agli studenti di materie biologiche e biotecnologie con una partecipazione di circa 130 studenti.

Prvi rezultat projekta je ustanovitev mreže za stalno čezmejno sodelovanje, ta mreža pa vključuje 17 podjetij, 2 raziskovalni središči in 1 univerzo - gre za ustanovne člane, ki se jim bodo lahko v prihodnosti pridružili tudi drugi subjekti. V mrežo vključeni subjekti se zavzemajo za sodelovanje pri razvoju gospodarskega tkiva kot tudi pri razvoju znanstvenih in uporabnih raziskav, da bi tako skupaj našli inovativne rešitve, ki bi omogočile boljše in lažje delovanje vinogradniškega in kmetijskega sektorja, s čimer bi se omogočili tudi pozitivni učinki za ves teritorij čezmejnega italijansko-slovenskega pasu. Natančneje se mreža osredotoča na:•razvoj in širjenje tehnologij, s katerimi je mogoče podpreti trajnostne tehnike pridelovanja, med te pa sodijo na primer znanstveno priznane tehnike za predhodno napovedovanje in diagnosticiranje patogenih snovi, ki se pojavljajo pri rastlinah, ter zmanjšanje porabe vode; •znanstveno raziskavo, ki preučuje vpliv bakterij na kakovost in količino končnega izdelka, poleg tega pa tudi na zdravje vinske trte (in v prihodnje tudi na zdravje drugih kmetijskih rastlin), glavni cilj pa je določitev in razvoj snovi za biološko zoperstavljanje boleznim ter bioloških pesticidov naravnega izvora za patogeni snovi oidij in peronospora. V okviru projekta SUSGRAPE sta bili tako izvedeni dve ezmejni znanstveni raziskavi. Obe zadevata genetsko analizo bakterij, ki so prisotne na vinski trti, doseženi rezultati pa so bili predstavljeni na štirih izobraževalnih delavnicah o potencialu uporabne mikrobiologije, ki se uporablja na področju kmetijstva. Delavnice so bile namenjene študentom bioloških in biotehnoloških ved, udeležilo pa se jih je približno 130 študentov.
