L’acquaponica è un sistema di produzione integrata che permette una riduzione degli impatti ambientali del settore agroalimentare. Questa tecnica prevede la coltivazione di ortaggi senza l’utilizzo di terra e con un consumo idrico ridotto rispetto alle pratiche agricole tradizionali, riciclando i reflui organici provenienti da allevamenti ittici. L’acquaponica presenta i seguenti vantaggi: (1) non comporta l’uso di fertilizzanti; (2) limita l’uso del suolo, poiché le piante non devono competere per i nutrienti; (3) non richiede l’uso di pesticidi. Sulla base di queste caratteristiche, l’acquaponica viene considerata una tecnologia verde.

Akvaponika je kombinacija hkratne pridelave rastlin in gojenja rib z namenom zmanjšanja škodljivih vplivov kmetijsko-živilskega sektorja na okolje. V primerjavi s tradicionalnim kmetijstvom, akvaponika omogoča pridelavo zelenjave brez prisotnosti tal, zmanjšuje uporabo vode ter omogoča recikliranje organskih odpadnih produktov iz ribogojništva. Prednosti akvaponike so: (1) uporaba gnojil ni potrebna; (2) omejena raba tal, ker imajo rastline stalno dostopnost do hranil; (3) uporaba fitofarmacevtskih prepartov. Na podlagi teh značilnosti, velja akvaponika za zeleno tehnologijo.

Aquaponics is a combined production systems that allows for a reduced environmental impact in the agricultural and food industry. This techniques consists in growing plants without soil and with a reduced water consumption compared to traditional agricultural practices, recycling organic waste from fish farms. Aquaponics has the following benefits: (1) it does not involve the use of fertilizers; (2) it limits the consumption of soil, as plants do not have to fight for nutrients; (3) it does not require pesticides. Hence, aquaponics is considered to be a “green” technology.

Expected Results (IT):

BLUEGRASS si propone come scopo l’introduzione e lo sviluppodell’acquaponica nell’area coperta dal Programma. L’acquaponica è una tecnica di produzione sostenibile che rispecchia i principi della crescita verde e quelli dell’economia circolare. Nello specifico, questa tecnica permette di produrre ortaggi con una riduzione fino al 90% del consumo idrico e attraverso il riciclo dei prodotti di scarto derivanti dalle pratiche di acquacoltura.

Expected Results (SL):

Glavni cilj projekta BLUEGRASS je uvedba in razvoj akvaponike znotraj programskega območja. Akvaponika predstavlja trajnostno pridelovalno prakso, ki zajema načela zelene rasti in krožnega gospodarstva. Akvaponika omogoča pridelavo tržnih pridelkov ob do 90 odstotkov manjši porabi vode v primerjavi s konvencionalnim kmetijstvom in ponovno uporabo odpadnih voda iz ribogojstva.

Expected Outputs (IT):

BLUEGRASS realizzerà 2 sistemi pilota di acquaponica all’interno dell’area coperta dal Programma. Questo output assicurerà la presenza sul territorio di 2 prototipi di impianti che sfrutteranno questa innovativa tecnologia verde che permette di produrre ortaggi con una riduzione fino al 90% del consumo idrico e attraverso il riciclo dei prodotti di scarto derivanti dalle pratiche di acquacoltura. BLUEGRASS creerà una rete di agricoltori e piscicoltori interessati ad espandere la propria attività sperimentando questa nuova tecnologia. Attraverso attività didattiche verrà aumentata la consapevolezza dei consumatori in relazione alla sostenibilità dei prodotti di acquaponica stimolando nuove opportunità di mercato. BLUEGRASS stimolerà inoltre lo sviluppo di nuove figure professionali che possiederanno le competenze necessarie per gestire un impianto di acquaponica.

Expected Outputs (SL):

V okviru projekta BLUEGRASS se bosta vzpostavila dva pilotna akvaponska sistema na izbranih lokacijah znotraj programskega območja. Ta projektni rezultat bo omogočil in zagotovil prisotnost dveh novih prototipnih enot, ki zajemata načela zelene inovativne tehnologije za pridelavo hrane z do 90 odstotki manjšo porabo vode in recikliranjem odpadnih voda iz ribogojstva. V okviru projekta BLUEGRASS se bo vzpostavila mreža kmetov in ribogojcev, ki se za tovrstno tehnologijo zanimajo in želijo razširiti svojo obstoječo dejavnost. Skozi izobraževalne aktivnosti se bo povečevala ozaveščenost potrošnikov o trajnostnem pomenu akvaponskih pridelkov in spodbujale nove tržne priložnosti. Projekt BLUEGRASS bo prav tako spodbujal razvoj novih strokovnjakov z vsemi potrebnimi znanji za upravljanje z akvaponskimi sistemi.
