Improvement of living conditions in cross border region by unlocking potential of deprived communities and territories

Projekta mērķis ir uzlabot dzīves kvalitāti un apkārtējo vidi, palielinot sociālās telpas aprīkojumu un iedzīvotāju iesaisti sociālajās aktivitātēs. Lai šo mērķi sasniegtu, tiks radītas jaunas sabiedriskas pulcēšanās vietas Biržos un Aizkrauklē: Birži iegūs jaunu Bērnu rotaļu laukumu A.Daugavieša parka, savukārt Aizkrauklē tiks iekārtoti āra trenažieru sporta laukumi. Lai iedrošinātu abu pašvaldība iedzīvotājus veidot ciešāku sadarbību, projekta laikā plānoti treniņi un praktiskas nodarbības, kā arī visu paaudžu cilvēkiem plānoti kopīgi svētki. Šādas aktivitātes nodrošinās ciešākas saites starp abām kopienām, motivēs, iedrošinās pilsoņus iesaistīties sabiedriskās aktivitātēs un uzsvērs fizisko aktivitāšu labvēlīgo ietekmi.

Projektu siekiama pagerinti gyvenimo sąlygas ir aplinką nugyventose bendruomenėse, įrengiant socialines erdves ir didinant socialinių grupių užimtumą, įsitraukimą į bendruomenės veiklą. Siekdamos šio tikslo, savivaldybės planuoja įrengti naujas socialines erdves: vaikų žaidimų aikštelę A. Dauguviečio parke Biržuose ir lauko treniruoklius Aizkrauklėje. Siekiant glaudesnio ir nuoširdesnio abiejų savivaldybių gyventojų bendravimo, numatoma suorganizuoti mokymus, praktinius užsiėmimus ir bendras šventes. Taip tikimasi paskatinti glaudesnius bendruomenės narių santykius, didinti socialinę įtrauktį, motyvuoti labiau rūpintis savo fizine sveikata.

Project aims to improve living conditions and environment in deprived communities by equipping social spaces and increasing involvement into social activities and community life. To reach this goal, new social spaces will be created in Biržai and Aizkraukle: Biržai will have a new playground for children in the A. Dauguvietis park and a sport square with set of trainers will be established in Aizkraukle. To encourage closer cooperation among the citizens of both municipalities, trainings and practical activities as well as common festivals for citizens of all ages are planned. These activities will forge a closer link between communities, motivate, encourage social involvement of residents, and emphasize benefits of physical activity .

Project aimed to improve living conditions and environment in deprived communities by equipping social spaces and increasing involvement into social activities and community life. To reach this goal, new social spaces were created in Biržai and Aizkraukle: Biržai has the new playground for children in the A. Dauguvietis park and the sport square with set of trainers (sport simulators) were established in 5 different places in Aizkraukle. 1 playground for children was established in Aizkraukle. All newly established places are actively used by local inhabitants. Playgrounds are constantly occupied by children. Adults and youngsters spend free time actively using outdoor trainers. Educational activities and practical activities were carried out during the implementation period of this project. Joint activities, involving the communities of Biržai and Aizkraukle took place. Birzai and Aizkraukle community members actively participated in all project events and activities. Training events aimed to forge a closer link between the communities, motivate and encourage the social involvement of the residents, emphasize physical activity benefits for human health, the impact of surrounding environment on human psychological comfort, prevention lectures for the youth. Project results: On June 20, 2019 newly established playgrounds for children (22 pieces of equipment for children of different ages) in A. Dauguvietis park in Birzai were opened and presented to inhabitants. On 12, 13 and 14 of September 2019, association “SPARTIETIS” in cooperation with Aizkraukle municipality, and with the support of the funding of Interreg V-A Latvia – Lithuania Programme 2014-2020 project LLI-296 “Improvement of living conditions in cross border regions by unlocking potential of deprived communities and territories” held one of the most educational and entertaining cycles of sports and healthy lifestyle promotion seminars and practical lessons in Aizkraukle municipality. The seminar venue was the Aizkraukle Sports Centre. The participants of the theoretical seminars, workshops, and interactive activities were very responsive and happy to been given the opportunity to learn how to spend their time effectively and exercise using the possibilities provided by our city. They learned more about healthy nutrition and the way it is linked with active lifestyle, better physical condition, and feeling healthy in general. This objective, which includes a healthy and active lifestyle (and in result – a happy society), is undoubtedly the result that every municipality should be looking to achieve. It is a reachable goal that creates prosperity, pleasure, and happiness. Similar seminars took place in Biržai as well. On September 18-19 and 24-26, 2019 seminars about healthy diet for different age people, necessity of physical activity and methodology to combine diet and sport activities according your own needs as well as ways to tackle and overcome stress, understand and hear the needs of other person were organized in Biržai. On October 11, 2019 new playgrounds for children in Aizkraukle were opened. By this project Investment work package implementation was finished. On November 14, 2019 project LLI-296 was officially closed during the final event in Aizkraukle.

New social spaces will be created in the municipalities of Biržai and Aizkraukle: Biržai will have the new playground for children in the A. Dauguvietis park and the sport square with set of trainers (sport simulators) will be established in Aizkraukle. Project is orientated to 3000 Biržai community members and 3014 Aizkraukle community members. Both communities can be described as deprived and lacking resources to ensure proper sociela inclusion. Those newly created social spaces will positivelly influence atmosphere inside communities, raise level of tolerance and mutual understanding. Community memebers will be motivated to look after their living territories ans newly created spaces to keep them atractive and available for use. At the same time attraction of living environment will increase and living conditions will be improved. The implementation of project activities includes training/practical activities and festivals for citizens of all ages. Training events will seek to forge a closer link between the communities, motivate and encourage the social involvement of the residents, emphasize physical activity benefits for human health, the impact of surrounding environment on human psychological comfort, prevention lectures for the youth. Motivated and activated ciommunities will mobilize and make their own life better. This is how project will make positive changes and contribute to the progarmme result indicator.
