In der Programmregion spielt der nachhaltige Tourismus trotz erkennbaren Potentials eine eher marginale Rolle. Das Projekt will dieses Problem angehen und durch das Verbessern der Sichtbarkeit nachhaltiger Anbieter sowohl das Angebot, als auch die Nachfrage im Bereich nachhaltiger Tourismus stärken. Die Aktivitäten der einzelnen WPs setzen sich wie folgt zusammen: Analyse der verschiedenen Labels sowie des nachhaltigen Tourismusmarkts in der Programmregion, Ausarbeitung eines Tools zur Hilfestellung bei der Auswahl eines passenden Nachhaltigkeitslabels (WP3), grenzüberschreitenden Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen (WP4), sowie Netzwerkarbeit und der Institutionalisierung einer Interessenvertretung für nachhaltige Tourismusanbieter (WP5). Mit diesen Aktivitäten richtet sich das Projekt sowohl an bereits etablierte nachhaltige Tourismustreibende (KMUs), als auch an solche, die sich eine solche Positionierung aufbauen möchten. Durch die Einbindung von ca. 30 KMUs als Teil von 3 Pilotregionen soll nicht nur das erarbeitete Tool getestet und optimiert werden, sondern auch eine Basis zur Verbreitung neu gewonnener Kompetenzen geschaffen werden. Angestrebt ist dadurch langfristig das öffentliche Bild des Tourismussektors in der Programmregion zu wandeln und die Nachhaltigkeit damit in den Vordergrund zu stellen. Um so einen grundlegenden Wandel innerhalb eines Wirtschaftszweigs herbeizuführen, ist eine durch grenzübergreifendes Handeln ermöglichte Bündelung von Mitteln unerlässlich.

Nella regione di programma, nonostante le evidenti potenzialità del turismo sostenibile, esso svolge ancora un ruolo marginale. Il progetto si propone di affrontare questo problema e si è posto come obiettivo di rafforzare sia la domanda che l’offerta di turismo sostenibile, tramite il miglioramento della visibilità degli operatori sostenibili. Le attività dei singoli WP consistono in un'analisi del mercato delle etichette e del mercato turistico sostenibile nella regione di programma e nello sviluppo di uno strumento per aiutare nella scelta di un'etichetta di sostenibilità adeguata (WP3), programmi di formazione transfrontalieri (WP4), così come il networking e l'istituzionalizzazione di una rappresentanza comune degli operatori di turismo sostenibile (WP5). Con queste attività, il progetto si rivolge sia a quegli operatori turistici sostenibili che fungono da guida (PMI), così come a quelli che vogliono costruire un tale posizionamento. Coinvolgendo 30 PMI all'interno delle tre regioni pilota non solo lo strumento verrà sviluppato, testato e ottimizzato, ma esso fornirà anche una base per la diffusione delle capacità acquisite. Quindi l'obiettivo a lungo termine è quello di cambiare l'immagine pubblica del settore turistico nella zona di programma e mettere, in tal modo, la sostenibilità in primo piano. Per apportare un cambiamento così fondamentale all'interno di un settore, è essenziale rendere possibili azioni transfrontaliere e la messa in comune delle risorse.

Sustainable tourism plays a rather marginal role in the program region – despite recognisable potential. The project wants to tackle this problem and increase both supply and demand of sustainable tourism, by improving the visibility of sustainable operators. The activities in the WPs are composed of an analysis of the program region’s label and sustainable tourism market, the subsequent composition of a tool which helps operators to choose the best fit sustainability label (WP3), transnational advanced training activities (WP4), networking and the institutionalization of an interest group for current and prospective sustainable tourism operators (SMEs) (WP5). The involvement of 30 SMEs as part of 3 pilot regions will not only help to test and optimize the tool, but also set a foundation for the dissemination of the newly acquired competences. Thereby, the public image of the program region’s tourism sector is sought to be changed in a way that puts sustainability at the forefront. In order to achieve such a fundamental change within a whole economic sector, bundling resources on a transnational level is essential.

Achievements (DE):

Nachhaltiger Tourismus ist im Alpenraum in aller Munde, aber die Initiativen und Akteure in diesem Bereich haben wenig Sichtbarkeit. Mit dem Projekt OnTour wurde daher das Thema „Nachhaltigkeits-Zertifikate im Tourismus“ mit interessierten Betrieben und anderen Stakeholdern vertieft. Nach drei Jahren Laufzeit geht das Projekt nun zu Ende, und wir blicken auf eine sehr aufschlussreiche Zeit zurück. Zu den besonderen Ereignissen zählen wir die grenzüberschreitenden Treffen in Tarvisio, Pongau und Südtirol, wo Erfahrungen im Bereich „sanfter Tourismus“ ausgetauscht und neue Netzwerke geknüpft wurden. Eine schöne Erfahrung war auch die Zusammenarbeit mit unseren Pilotbetrieben, die uns und einander Einblicke in ihre Nachhaltigkeitsstrategien gewährt haben. Auch in Zukunft bleibt die Projekt-Homepage (http://www.ontour-interreg.eu/) weiterhin bestehen, ebenso die eigens entwickelte Suchmaschine „Certifind“, welche Unternehmen bei der Auswahl der geeignetsten Zertifizierung im Bereich des nachhaltigen Tourismus unterstützt.

Sustainable tourism is on everyone’s lips in the Alpine region, but the initiatives and stakeholders in this area have little visibility. The OnTour project therefore deepened the topic of “Sustainability Certificates in Tourism” with interested companies and other stakeholders. After three years, the project is now coming to an end and we look back on a very insightful time. Special events include the cross-border meetings in Tarvisio, Pongau and South Tyrol, where experiences in the field of “gentle tourism” were exchanged and new networks were established. A nice experience was also working with our pilot companies, who gave us and each other insights into their sustainability strategies. In the future, the project homepage (http://www.ontour-interreg.eu/) will continue to exist, as well as the specially developed search engine “certifind”, which supports companies in selecting the most suitable certification in the field of sustainable tourism.

Expected Results (DE):

Obwohl der nachhaltige Tourismus in der Programmregion ein allgemein hohes Potential hat, das auf zahlreiche Nachhaltigkeitsinitiativen in anderen Sektoren wie Mobilität, Energiemanagement oder in der Landwirtschaft zurückzuführen ist, konnte sich die Nachhaltigkeit noch nicht als Marke im regionalen Tourismussektor etablieren. Dies liegt vor allem an der mangelnden Sichtbarkeit nachhaltiger Anbieter. Daraus ergibt sich erstens ein mangelndes Bewusstsein gegenüber nachhaltigen Angeboten seitens der Konsumenten, als auch eine mangelnde Attraktivität nachhaltiger Unternehmensführung seitens der Anbieter. Zu der mangelnden Sichtbarkeit trägt unter anderem auch die Undurchsichtigkeit des Angebots an Nachhaltigkeitslabels bei: KMUs mangelt es häufig an Kenntnissen, ein auf ihre Bedürfnisse und Charakteristika abgestimmtes Label korrekt zu bestimmen und die eigene Positionierung als nachhaltiges Unternehmen somit leicht sichtbar für den Kunden zu vermarkten. Gleichzeitig bieten die schon auf dem Markt vorhandenen Nachhaltigkeitslabels die Chance dazu, die Sichtbarkeit nachhaltiger Unternehmen zu verbessern – wenn sie nur richtig angewandt werden. Daher ist es das Ziel des Projekts, Tourismusanbietern der Programmregion einen strukturierten Überblick über die vorhandenen Nachhaltigkeitslabels zu geben, sie in Bezug auf Marketingstrategien weiterzubilden und durch Netzwerkarbeit ihre Stimme als nachhaltige Anbieter zu stärken. In diesem Sinn soll die nachhaltige Positionierung so sichtbar wie möglich vermarktet werden. Daraus erwarten sich die Projektpartner eine gesteigerte Nachfrage an nachhaltigen Tourismusangeboten und eine dadurch gesteigerte Attraktivität nachhaltiger Geschäftspraktiken. Durch das Einsetzen von Nachhaltigkeitskoordinatoren in den Pilotregionen werden zudem die Interessen nachhaltiger Anbieter wirksamer vertreten, woraus sich die Projektpartner auch eine gesteigerte Sichtbarkeit und Attraktivität einer nachhaltigen Positionierung erwarten.

Anche se il turismo sostenibile presenta un alto potenziale nella regione di programma, riconducibile a numerose iniziative di sostenibilità in altri settori come: mobilità, gestione energetica o agricoltura; la sostenibilità non ha potuto posizionare sé stessa come un marchio nel settore turistico della zona di programma. Ciò è dovuto principalmente alla mancanza di visibilità degli operatori sostenibili. Questa mancanza di consapevolezza verso i servizi è definita in primo luogo dai consumatori, da qui la mancanza di attrattiva verso una gestione sostenibile da parte degli operatori turistici. Alla mancanza di visibilità contribuisce anche l'opacità della gamma di etichette di sostenibilità, infatti, piccole e medie imprese spesso difettano della conoscenza per determinare un abbinamento adeguato tra le caratteristiche dell’etichetta e le loro esigenze, e quindi per commercializzare il proprio posizionamento come azienda sostenibile in un modo che sia facilmente visibile per il cliente. Allo stesso tempo, le etichette di sostenibilità già presenti sul mercato offrono l'opportunità di migliorare la visibilità delle imprese sostenibili - se utilizzate nella maniera corretta. Pertanto, l'obiettivo del progetto è quello di dare una panoramica dei marchi di sostenibilità agli operatori turistici, fare in modo che essi si sviluppino in termini di strategie di marketing e di rafforzare, attraverso la messa in rete, la loro voce come operatori sostenibili. In questo senso, il posizionamento sostenibile deve essere commercializzato affinché goda di visibilità. Dunque, i partner di progetto si aspettano un aumento della domanda per i prodotti legati al turismo sostenibile e una loro maggiore attrattività. Con l'introduzione della figura dei coordinatori nelle regioni pilota anche gli interessi degli operatori sostenibili saranno rappresentati in modo più efficace, pertanto ci si aspetta anche un aumento della visibilità del settore.

OI5 - Anzahl der neuen Produkte zur Steigerung der Attraktivität des Natur- und Kulturerbes; Anzahl 1,00; Erstellung einer Online-Plattform, genannt Tool, die kleine und mittelständische Tourismusbetriebe während des Zertifizierungsprozesses als nachhaltige Anbieter unterstützt. CO04 - Zahl der Unternehmen, die nicht finanzielle Unterstützung erhalten; Anzahl 30,00; Pro Pilotregion werden 10 Betriebe in der Zertifizierungsphase unterstützt. Dadurch soll einerseits die Umsetzung des Tools getestet werden und andererseits die Nachhaltigkeitszertifizierungen auf lokaler Ebene gefördert werden, die am besten zum Programmgebiet passen.

OI5 - Numero di nuovi prodotti per la valorizzazione dell’attrattività del patrimonio naturale e culturale; Numero 1,00; Creazione di una piattoforma online, denominata tool, per supportare le imprese turistiche medio piccole nel processo di certificazione ambientale. CO04 - Numero di imprese che ricevono un sostegno non finanziario; Numero 30,00; dieci imprese per regione pilota verranno supportate nella fase di certificazione. L'attività ha un dublice ruolo, da un lato testare la realizzazione del tool, dall'altro promuovere a livello locale le certificazioni ambienatali più adatte all'area di programma.
