Die Kreislaufwirtschaft (mit zahlreichen neuen Direktiven) stellt neue Herausforderungen: Unternehmen müssen viel stärker als bisher recycelte Materialien verwenden, Innovationen und neue Technologien einführen, um Materialrückeffizienz und Recycling zu verbessern. Jedoch gibt es starke regionale Unterschiede in der Innovationskapazität im Programmgebiet und gerade KMU fehlen die notwendigen Innovationspartner. Das Projektgebiet bietet gute Voraussetzungen, um diese Probleme gemeinsam anzugehen. Es gibt international angebunden FTE Institutionen im Bereich Materialien (Polymere, Holz) im Programmgebiet, sowie ein klares (politisches) Bekenntnis zu Nachhaltigkeit. Projektziel ist die Steigerung nachhaltiger Innovationen und Ressourceneffizienz von KMU im Programmgebiet . START CIRCLES will für KMU den Zugang zu Informationen, Aktivitäten und Innovationspartnern verbessern, die Zusammenarbeit mit FTE Partnern stärken und begleiten. Hauptresultat des Projektes ist es, KMU nachhaltig in grenzüberschreitende Innovationsnetzwerke und kreislauforientierte Wertschöpfungsketten einzubinden, ihre Innovationskraft zu steigern und neue Produkte / Materialien zu entwickeln. START CIRCLES wurde aus der Perspektive und den Bedürfnissen der KMU und FTE Organisationen entwickelt, um KMU von der Anbahnung der Innovationskooperation bis zum Launch des neuen Produktes zu begleiten und neue & nachhaltige Unterstützungsleistungen für jede Phase anzubieten. Folgende Ansätze im Projekt sind neu/innovativ: -Dokumentation und langfristige Nutzbarmachung der FTE Kompetenzen zur Kreislaufwirtschaft, -Neue Formate zur Kooperationsanbahnung, insbesondere bei kreislauforientierten Wertschöpfungsketten (Ausbildung von Vermittlern), -Betreuung von SME in FTE Kooperationen
-Unterstützung beim Launch neuer Produkte durch Erarbeitung neuer Geschäftsmodelle, -Politikempfehlung zu einem neuen Thema: Geschäftsmodelle in der Kreislaufwirtschaft.

Description (SL):

Krožno gospodarstvo (s številnimi novimi direktivami) pred podjetja postavlja nove izzive. Več pozornosti kot doslej bo potrebno posvetiti uporabi recikliranih oziroma predelanih materialov. Potrebne bodo inovacije in nove tehnologije za izboljšanje postopkov reciklaže in predelave materialov s povečanjem snovnega izplena teh postopkov. V programskem območju so opazne velike regionalne razlike v zmožnostih inoviranja in prav MSP manjkajo ključni partnerji v podporo inovacijam. Projektno območje ponuja dobre pogoje za skupno reševanje teh problemov. V programskem območju so v mednarodno tokove vpete R&R institucije na področju materialov (polimeri, les). Obstaja tudi jasna (politična) zaveza k trajnosti. Glavni cilj projekta je povečanje inovativnosti MSPjev na področju trajnostnega razvoja in učinkovite rabe virov na programskem območju. START CIRCLES bo izboljšal dostop MSP do informacij, aktivnosti in podpornih inovacijskih partnerjev ter krepil in spremljal sodelovanje med MSP in R&R partnerji. Glavni rezultat projekta je trajnostno vključevanje MSP v čezmejne inovacijske mreže in verige vrednosti, ki nudijo podporo krožnemu gospodarstva, in s tem povečanje inovativnosti podjetij ter oblikovanje novih izdelkov/materialov. START CIRCLES je bil oblikovan z vidika MSP in R&R organizacij in njihovih potreb, da bi lahko spremljali MSP od začetka inovacijskega sodelovanja do uvedbe novega izdelka na trg ter za posamezne faze ponudili nove in trajnostno naravnane podporne storitve. Sledeči pristopi so v projektu novi/inovativni: -dokumentiranje in uporaba R&R znanj za spodbujanje krožnega gospodarstva, -nove oblike sodelovanja, še posebej oblikovanja vrednostnih verig, ki nudijo podporo krožnemu gospodarstvu (izobraževanje mediatorjev), -spremljanje MSP pri sodelovanju s RR
-podpora pri uvedbi novih izdelkov na podlagi novih poslovnih modelov, -priporočilo politikam na novo temo: poslovni modeli za krožno gospodarstvo.

The shift towards a circular economy (entailing a number of new demands from relevant directives) presents new challenges: Companies will need to increase the use of recycled materials, innovate and introduce new technologies to improve material recovery and recycling. There are, however strong regional differences in the capacity for innovation in the program area and SMEs, especially lack information, activities, strategies and innovation partners necessary to tackle them. The project area offers good conditions to address these issues together. The program area has internationally connected RTD institutions in materials (polymers, wood) with a clear (political) commitment to sustainability. The project objective is to increase sustainable innovation and resource efficiency in the program area, especially for SMEs. START CIRCLES is designed to enable SMEs better access to information, activities, as well as innovation partners in order to strengthen and support their cooperation with RTD partners. The main project outcome is to sustainably integrate SMEs in cross-border innovation networks and circular economy oriented value chains to increase innovation and develop new products / materials. START CIRCLES has been developed from the perspective and needs of SMEs and RTD organizations. The project will monitor SMEs from innovation initiation to the launch of the new products while delivering new and sustainable support services for each phase. The following approaches in the project are new/innovative: - documentation and utilization of RTD skills for the circular economy. -establishment of new cooperation models, especially regarding reuse-oriented value chains (training of mediators / facilitators), -supporting SME in RTD networks, -support the launch new products by developing new business models, - deliver a policy recommendation on a new theme: business models in the circular economy.

Expected Outputs (DE):

Hauptresultat des Projektes ist es, KMU nachhaltig in grenzüberschreitende Innovationsnetzwerke einzubinden. Das Projekt wird sich dabei auf die kreislauforientierte Kooperationspartnerschaften und Wertschöpfungsketten mit FTE Partnern in den Bereichen Biomesse und Plastik konzentrieren. Als Resultat dieser Partnerschaften wird die Innovationskraft gesteigert und neue Produkte/Materialien entwickelt bzw. bestehende verbessert/nachhaltiger gestaltet. START CIRCLES wird insgesamt 84 KMU individuell beraten/begleiten. Die KMU in der Projektpartnerschaft werden in Pilotaktivitäten mit den FTE Partnern eine langfristige Partnerschaft eingehen und neue Produkte/Dienstleistungen einführen. Dabei ist hervorzuheben, dass 18 weitere KMU in Innovationspartnerschaften mit FTE vermittelt werden, von denen bis Projektende mindestens 6 KMU neue Produkte / Dienstleistungen einführen werden. Expected Outputs (SL):

Glavni rezultat projekta je trajnostno vključevanje MSP v čezmejne inovacijske mreže. Projekt se bo osredotočil na partnerstva podjetij z R&R ustanovami, usmerjena v izoblikovanje krožnega gospodarstva in verig vrednosti na področji biomase in plastike. Na osnovi teh partnerstev se bo inovativnost povečala in razviti bodo novi proizvodi / materiali oziroma obstoječi izboljšani / bolj trajnostno oblikovani. Podjetji, ki sodelujeta kot projektna partnerja, bosta v okviru pilotnih aktivnosti z R&R partnerji v projektu začeli dolgotrajno partnerstvo ter bosta uvedli nove izdelke / storitve. START CIRCLES bo posamezno podprl/svetoval skupaj 84 MSP. Pri tem je treba poudariti, da se bo 18 dodatnih MSP vključilo v inovacijska partnerstva z R&R, od katerih bo do zaključka projekta najmanj 6 MSP uvedlo nov proizvod/ storitev. S izgradnjo novih znanj se bo usposobljenost podpornih organizacij, R&R in javnih institucijah povečala.
