GO TRADE renforcera les économies locales de la zone FMA en augmentant de 327 650 le nombre de visiteurs sur les marchés locaux et en aidant 450 exposants à développer leurs entreprises de manière pérenne sur les marchés. Un grand nombre de centres-villes/rues commerçantes souffrent d’une baisse de fréquentation due à une perte d’identité des marchés et à une préférence pour les achats en ligne. Ceci favorise les entreprises nationales au détriment des économies locales. Attirer les visiteurs sur les marchés stimulerait les entreprises locales et aiderait à maintenir et à revitaliser une part essentielle du patrimoine culturel commun de l’espace Manche. L´Angleterre et la France considèrent les marchés comme partie intégrante de leur patrimoine. Cependant, au fil du temps, les marchés ont perdu de leur attrait: le traditionnel, la variété et le fait main / la dimension produits locaux ont été perdus en faveur de produits manufacturés à des prix cassés. Les biens des deux côtés de la Manche sont souvent importés pour raisons économiques (par exemple: les fruits d´Espagne sont vendus en France à des prix bien moins chers que les produits français, des produits manufacturés sont importés au Royaume-Uni. En utilisant les marchés comme incubateurs d’entreprises et en améliorant la qualité et la diversité des produits proposés, GO TRADE incitera les habitants à se rendre sur leurs marchés locaux. Ce projet utilisera les marchés traditionnels comme catalyseur pour la création d´emplois, le développement des compétences et la croissance en créant une marque transfrontalière de qualité: GO TRADE. Les principaux objectifs du projet sont: -Utiliser les marchés comme point d´entrée pour le tourisme. Les marchés font partie intégrante de l´histoire des villes de la zone FMA et nous créerons de nouveaux produits touristiques, animations et moderniserons les services pour attirer les touristes et augmenter la durée de leurs séjours dans nos villes partenaires. -Revitaliser les marchés en créant une identité transfrontalière de qualité. Cette identité se basera sur une stratégie marketing transfrontalière solide et des critères de qualité auxquels les exposants adhèreront et co-créerons. L’identité fera partie intégrante du produit touristique ci-dessus. -Maximiser le potentiel économique des marchés en les utilisant comme des incubateurs et le potentiel de formation des exposants pour proposer des services de qualité liés aux critères qualité de l’identité GO Trade. Le projet créera un business plan qui aidera la marque à être durable et accélèrera sa diffusion car elle sera mis à la disposition de tous les nouveaux marchés rejoignant le réseau. Le partenariat a travaillé ces deux dernières années à établir un calendrier d’activités et a mené une enquête qui confirme la demande des exposants et l’intérêt du grand public.

GO Trade will boost the FCE local economies by increasing the number of visitors to local markets by 327 650 and by helping 450 traders to grow sustainable businesses in markets. A high number of town centres/high streets have suffered declining footfall due to markets losing their identity and people favouring online stores for day-to-day shopping. This has favoured national companies above local economies. Attracting visitors to the local markets would boost the local businesses and help maintain and restore an essential part of the common cultural heritage of the channel area. Both England and France view markets as integral parts of their heritage. However, over time, markets have lost some of their appeal: the traditional, diverse and handmade/ locally produced aspects have been lost in favour of manufactured products and at a price that undercuts local products. On both sides of the channel goods are often imported for economic reasons (e.g.: Fruits from Spain sold in France, at a much cheaper price than French products, imported manufactured goods in the UK). Using markets as business incubators and improving the quality and diversity of products on offer, GO Trade will attract local residents to visit their local markets. This project will use traditional markets as a catalyst for job creation, skills development and growth through the visitor economy by creating a cross-border quality brand: GO TRADE. The main project objectives are: To use markets as an entry point for tourism. Markets are an integral part of the history of towns and cities in the FCE area and as such we will create new tourism packages, animations and modernise services to attract tourists and increase the lenth of their stays in our partner market towns. To revitalise markets by creating a cross-border quality brand: GO Trade. This brand will be based on a strong Cross-border marketing strategy and quality criteria that stall holders will adhere to and co-create. The brand will be an itegral part of the tourism product above. To maximise on the economic potential of the markets by using them as business incubators, training potential market stall holders to offer quality services in line with the GO Trade brand quality criteria. The project will create a business plan which will help the brand to be sustainable and accelerate dissemination as it will be made available to new markets joining the brand network. The partnership has worked over the past two years to put together a timeline of activities and have performed a survey which confirms the demand from stall holders and the interest from the geneal public. The cross-border expertise will enable the project to reach its targets and deliver real change to markets in the programme area. Information added on 2020-05-18, regarding the mitigation of the effects of COVID-19 (the coronavirus pandemic that started in 2019) (English language only): GO-TRADE is adapting several of its activities to address the pandemic: the click and collect service is adapted to a click and drop service with a delivery option to support local shops whose business have been impacted by the pandemic. Several webinars will be created to support businesses on how to sell on line products and how to deliver. To support the tourism industry, the partnership will create virtual tour to promote the partners’ areas.

GO TRADE: - Préservera la diversité du capital culturel par un retour des valeurs, de la diversité et la vitalité des marchés traditionnels. - Créera de nouvelles entreprises (156 jeunes entrepreneurs soutenus) et soutiendra la croissance des entreprises existantes à travers l’entreprenariat (270 exposants recevront des formations) et 450 exposants et 182 commerces aux alentours des marchés supplémtenaires recevront de nouvelles opportunités commerciales.Cela sera mesuré dans MT M act 5 et MT T3.

Expected Outputs (EN):

GO TRADE will : -preserve the variety of this cultural asset by bringing back the values, variety and vitality of traditional markets. -create new businesses (156 young entrepreneurs supported )and growth of existing businesses through entrepreneurship and bespoke business support provision (over 270 market traders to receive training), and an additional 450 traders and 182 surrounding shops to get new commercial opportunities. This will be measured through WPM act5, WPT3.
