Description (DE): Meeresenergie (ME) bezieht sich auf die erneuerbare Energie, die aus Wellen, Gezeiten, Salzgehalt und thermischen Gradienten gewonnen werden kann. ME hat das Potenzial, bis zum Jahr 2050 weltweit 350 Millionen Haushalte mit Strom zu versorgen. Die Region NWE ist führend in der ME-Entwicklung und ist in einzigartiger Weise positioniert, um zum weltweiten Branchenführer der ME zu werden. Gegenwärtig wird das effiziente Wachstum des ME-Sektors behindert, da der Sektor regional orientiert und fragmentiert ist. Vorhersehbare Fehler werden wiederholt wodurch die Entwicklung von ME-Technologien unnötig ineffizient und teuer ist. Das Marine Energy Alliance (MEA) Projekt vereint regionale Expertise und Fähigkeiten führender Organisationen mit einer Erfolgsbilanz bei der Unterstützung der ME- Entwicklung. Hauptziel ist es um 40 KMU bei der Weiterentwicklung von ME-Konzepte (TRL 3 oder 4) zu unterstützen. Hierdurch kann eine 20-prozentige Risikoreduktion in der anschließenden kapitalintensiven Demonstrationsphase erreicht werden. Dies wird durch eine maßgeschneiderte Dienstleistung erreicht, die technische und kommerzielle Aspekte integriert, die für den Sektor innovativ und neuartig sind. Um eine dauerhafte Wirkung zu gewährleisten, wird ein Nachsorge-Modell eingerichtet. Darüber hinaus legen interaktive Hackathons, in denen Unternehmen mit ME Konzepten verbunden werden, den Grundstein für zukünftige Kooperationen. Ein ME Anlageportfolio wird entwickelt, welches Anlegern ermöglicht, gleichzeitig in mehrere ME Konzepte zu investieren. Hierdurch wird die Möglichkeit zur Risikostreuung gegeben. Alle diese Aktivitäten unterstützen zusammen 120 Unternehmen, um neue Produkte auf den Markt zu bringen und Mittel in Höhe von 8 Mio. EUR zu mobilisieren. Weiter wird ein integriertes MEA-Service Angebot entwickelt, das nach der Projektlaufzeit weitere 40 ME Konzepte unterstützt und damit die Schaffung von 300 neuen und die Erhaltung von 500 bestehenden Arbeitsplätzen ermöglicht.
Read more Description (EN): Marine Energy (ME) refers to the renewable energy that can be captured from waves, tides, and salinity & thermal gradients. ME has the potential to deliver electricity to 350 million households globally by 2050. The NWE region leads the way in ME development and is uniquely positioned to become the global industry leader. However, efficient growth is hampered, as the sector is regionally oriented and fragmented. Foreseeable errors in technology development are being repeated, making the development of ME technologies unnecessarily inefficient and expensive. The Marine Energy Alliance (MEA) unites regional expertise and capabilities of leading organisations with a track-record in ME development. The main objective is to progress the combined technical and commercial maturity level of 40 SMEs developing ME Concepts (TRL 3-4), reducing the risk in the subsequent capital-intensive demonstration phase by 20%. This is achieved by delivering a tailored suite of integrated technical and commercial services, which is innovative and new to the sector. To ensure long-lasting impact, an after-care module is put in place in which after-care plans of the ME Concepts are carefully monitored. Concept Booster Hackathons will be organised connecting maritime and offshore companies to ME Concepts to lay the groundwork for future collaborations. A ME Investment Portfolio enabling investors to diversify risk by investing in multiple ME Concepts simultaneously will be developed. These activities support 120 companies in bringing new products to the market and leverage €8 million of additional funding. To sustain MEA, lessons-learned in the service delivery to individual ME Concepts are used to develop a Technical & Commercial Service Offer, which will be jointly implemented after the project lifetime. This Service Offer aims to support another 40 ME Concepts in the years after project finalisation contributing to the creation of 300 new jobs and 500 maintained jobs in the NWE region.
Read more Description (FR): Les Energies Océaniques (EO) sont les énergies renouvelables produites à partir des vagues, des courants de marée, des gradients de salinité et de température. Elles ont la capacité à fournir en électricité à 350 millions de foyers à l’échelle mondiale d’ici à 2050. La région Europe du Nord-Ouest (ENO) est pionnière dans les EO. Toutefois, la croissance du secteur est limitée par le fait que l’industrie est très fragmentée régionalement. Des erreurs dans le développement de technologie sont continuellement répétées et rendent leur développement inutilement inefficace et cher. Le projet Marine Energy Alliance (MEA) a vocation à unir l’expertise et le savoir-faire d’organisations régionales de premier plan. L’objectif est de faire progresser techniquement et commercialement 40 PMEs d’ENO porteuses de technologies EO à l’état de concept (TRL3-4) est de réduire de 20% le coût de la très onéreuse phase de démonstration. Le projet s’appuiera sur une offre de services technique et commercial intégrée, au sein d’un programme d’accélération, ce qui est tout à fait unique et innovant pour le secteur. Sur le long terme, un plan de service après-vente est mis en place et sa réalisation suivie avec attention. De plus, des Hackathons Booster de Concepts seront organisés pour rapprocher les PME des fournisseurs et des sociétés offshore. Un portefeuille d’investissement dans plusieurs technologies EO sera mis en place, afin de diversifier les risques investisseurs. Ces activités ont vocation à soutenir 120 sociétés et à faire effet de levier pour 8m€ de financement. Les retours d’expérience issus de la fourniture des services à chaque développeur seront utilisés pour développer une offre complète de services, qui sera exploitée conjointement après le projet. Cette offre de services soutiendra 40 autres développeurs EO dans les années suivant le projet et contribuera à la création de 300 emplois et au maintien de 500 emplois dans ENO.
