Description


Description (EN): Aiming at resource efficient, environmentally sound and sustainable production this industry-driven project addresses the development of novel, economically interesting products and processes based on waste streams originating from the cabbage and wood production. Envisioned products include health-promoting food additives, fermentable sugars allow to drive production of High-value compound astaxanthin, enzymatically optimized feed-additives as well as tannins for the leather producing industry. In the consortium partners from industry and academia a brought together located a very different positions of the value chains of the agricultural and food/feed industry.
Description: Vanuit de ambitie om te komen tot grondstofefficiency, klimaatvriendelijke en hernieuwbare productie worden in het project innovatieve en hoogwaardige producten en processen ontwikkeld op basis van beschikbare bijproducten en nevenstromen en tenslotte - indien mogelijk - vertaald naar nieuwe volledige waardeketens. Reststromen uit de groenteproductie en de houtverwerkende industrie zullen hierbij als uitgangsmateriaal dienen. De nagestreefde producten omvatten nieuwe, gezondheidsbevorderende additieven voor diervoeders, fermenteerbare suikers voor de productie van de waardevolle stof Astaxanthine, enzymatisch veredelde / geoptimaliseerde diervoeder-additieven en Tannine als natuurlijke looistof voor de leerproductie. Hiervoor worden branche-overschrijdende bedrijven en onderzoeksinstellingen samengebracht in een consortium die zeer diverse schakels van de keten vormen in de primaire productie en de productie van levensmiddelen.
