The most visible part of the mutual heritage in Austria and the Czech Republic are buildings and towns that were built under the same cultural and historical conditions. The problems of their renewal, the architectural and urban planning principles and craft practices are identical on both sides of the border, whereas the legal and economic situation, theory and practice are significantly different. It is necessary to seek new types and forms of sustainable renewal and adaptation of cultural heritage that meet today's needs while not destroying cultural-historical values. The project objective is to establish the Center for Renewal of the Mutual Cultural Heritage (COL), which will systematically deal with the sustainable renewal of historic buildings, areas and localities, and which will develop cross-border cooperation on renewal and promotion of the mutual cultural heritage. The aim of COL is to raise public awareness in order to preserve and develop the disappearing local architectural culture, which is one of the main sources for tourism in the border regions of Austria and the Czech republic. For the cities of Retz (AT) and Znojmo (CZ), who are partner towns since 1998, the project also means deepening the relations and links between the two regions. The main result of the project COL will be two exemplary renovated and developed architectural monuments on both sides of the border, which will serve as examples for experts as well as the lay public. Other project results will be a methodology and strategy for the renewal and promotion of the common cultural heritage. The so-called Old School in the Louka Monastery in Znojmo was chosen as an example of a decaying architectural monument. Its renovation is a starting point for the development of the national cultural monument as well as for the gradual revitalization of the entire area. The second object is the grain silo (Schüttkasten) in Retz, which in contrast represents a typical monument of local importance. A renovation like this is one of the most common. Both buildings will facilitate conferences, exhibitions and educational activities on leadership and culture.

Der sichtbarste Teil des gemeinsamen AT-CZ Erbes ist die Baukultur von Gebäuden und Ortschaften, die in gleichen kulturhistorischen Bedingungen entstanden sind. Die Problematik ihrer Erneuerung, architektonische sowie städtebauliche Prinzipien und handwerkliche Verfahren auf beiden Seiten der Grenze sind identisch, während die Rechts- und Wirtschaftslage, Theorie und Praxis wesentlich unterschiedlich sind. Es ist notwendig, neue Arten und Formen der nachhaltigen Erneuerung und Adaptierung des kulturellen Erbes gemeinsam zu suchen, welche den heutigen Bedürfnissen gerecht werden, zugleich aber die kulturhistorischen Werte nicht zerstören. Das Projektziel ist die Errichtung des Zentrums für Erneuerung des gemeinsamen Kulturerbes (COL), das sich mit der nachhaltigen Erneuerung von historischen Bauwerken, Arealen und Ortschaften systematisch befassen wird und die grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit bei der Erneuerung und Bewerbung des gemeinsamen Kulturerbes entwickeln wird. Das Ziel von COL ist die gesamtgesellschaftliche Sensibilisierung der Bevölkerung, um die schwindende lokale Baukultur zu erhalten und zu entwickeln, die eine der wichtigsten Tourismusquellen in den grenznahen Regionen von AT und CZ darstellt. Für die Städte Retz (AT) und Znojmo (CZ), Partnerstädte seit 1998, bedeutet das Projekt überdies auch Vertiefung der gemeinsamen Beziehungen und Verbindung der beiden Regionen. Das Hauptergebnis des COL-Projektes werden zwei vorbildlich sanierte und erschlossene Baudenkmäler auf den beiden Seiten der Grenze, die dem Fach- und Laienpublikum gemeinsam dienen werden. Ergebnisse der Softaktivitäten im Projekt werden gemeinsame Fachmethodik und Strategie für die Erneuerung und Bewerbung des gemeinsamen Kulturerbes. Als Beispiel eines langzeitig verkommenden, außerordentlichen Denkmals wurde die sog. Alte Schule im Kloster Louka (Klosterbruck) in Znaim ausgewählt. Ihre Sanierung ermöglicht die öffentliche Erschließung des Nationalen Kulturdenkmals und startet die sukzessive Revitalisierung des gesamten Areals. Das zweite Objekt ist der Schüttkasten in Retz, das im Gegensatz ein typisches Denkmal von lokaler Bedeutung darstellt, deren Erneuerung am häufigsten zu lösen ist. Beide Gebäude werden Konferenzen, Ausstellungen sowie Führungs-, Informations-, Kultur- und Aufklärungsaktivitäten ermöglichen. Dadurch werden fachliche Erkenntnisse und Empfehlungen des COL der breiten Öffentlichkeit vermittelt. Diese umfassende Erneuerung, Aufklärung und Bewerbung des Kulturerbes wird mit grenzüberschreitenden Aktivitäten für die Öffentlichkeit begleitet. Aufgrund der Komplexität und Spannweite der Themen wird es sich um Aktivitäten mit Übernachtung handeln, wodurch der Ergebnisindikator erfüllt wird. Innovativ ist insbesondere die grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit bei der gesamtgesellschaftlichen Lösung der Erneuerung des gemeinsamen Kulturerbes.

Nejviditelnější složkou společného dědictví AT-CZ je stavební kultura budov a sídel, které vznikly ve stejných kulturně historických podmínkách. Problematika jejich obnovy, architektonické a urbanistické principy i řemeslné postupy jsou stejné na obou stranách hranice, zatímco legislativa, ekonomika, teorie i praxe jsou značně rozdílné. Je potřeba společně hledat nové způsoby a formy udržitelné obnovy a adaptace kulturního dědictví, které odpovídají současným potřebám, ale přitom neničí jeho kulturně historické hodnoty. Cílem projektu je vznik Centra obnovy společného kulturního dědictví (COL), které se bude systematicky zabývat udržitelnou obnovou památkových objektu, areálů a historických sídel a bude rozvíjet přeshraniční spolupráci při obnově a propagaci společného kulturního dědictví. Cílem COL je celospolečenská senzibilizace obyvatelstva ve snaze zachovat a rozvíjet mizející lokální stavební kulturu, jeden z hlavních zdrojů turistického ruchu v příhraničních regionech AT a CZ. Pro města Retz (AT) a Znojmo (CZ), města partnerská od roku 1998, znamená projekt navíc i prohlubování vzájemných vztahů a propojování občanů v regionech. Hlavním výstupem projektu budou dvě příkladně zrekonstruované a zpřístupněné památky na obou stranách hranice, které budou společně sloužit odborné i laické veřejnosti. Výstupem měkkých aktivit projektu budou společná odborná přeshraniční Metodika obnovy a Strategie obnovy a propagace společného kulturního dědictví. Jako příklad dlouhodobě chátrající mimořádné památky, byla vybrána tzv. Stará škola, součást Louckého kláštera ve Znojmě. Rekonstrukce této části kláštera umožní zpřístupnění této Národní kulturní památky pro veřejnost a nastartuje postupnou revitalizaci celého areálu. Druhým objektem je Sýpka v Retz, představující naopak typickou památku lokálního významu, jejichž obnovu je nutné řešit nejčastěji. Obě budovy umožní konferenční, výstavní, průvodcovské, informační, kulturní a osvětové aktivity. Jejich prostřednictvím budou předávány odborné poznatky a doporučení COL široké veřejnosti. Tato komplexní obnova, osvěta a propagace kulturního dědictví bude probíhat na základě přeshraničních aktivit pro veřejnost. Kvůli složitosti a rozsahu tématu půjde převážně o aktivity vyžadující přenocování, čímž bude naplňován Ukazatel výsledku. Inovativní je především přeshraniční spolupráce při celospolečenském řešení obnovy společného kulturního dědictví.

Bewahrung des Kulturerbes in Form einer beispielhaften Sanierung, Erschließung und Verbindung von zwei Denkmälern (nationales Kulturdenkmal Kloster Louka; Schüttkasten Retz) die ein Infozentrum, Ausstellungs-, Workshop- und Gesellschaftsräume beinhalten. Durchführung von mehrtägigen Bildungs-, Sensibilisierungs- und Popularisierungsaktivitäten für fachliche und laienhafte Öffentlichkeit (Konferenzen, Workshops, touristische Programme) und Schaffung eines Netzwerks von Denkmalobjekten auf beiden Grenzseiten. Grenzüberschreitende kulturelle Zusammenarbeit erweitert das Angebot während der traditionellen mehrtätigen Veranstaltungen (Festivals, Weinlesefeste, Tage der Partnerstädte u. ä.). Erhöhte Verknüpfung von Fachinstitutionen, Experten und Verwalter im Bereich der Bewahrung von Kulturerbe. Überregional anwendbare Methodik der Erneuerung wird zur Sanierung weiterer Kulturdenkmäler und zur Erhöhung ihrer touristischen Attraktivität führen.

Expected Outputs (CS):

Zachování kulturního dědictví formou příkladné rekonstrukce, zpřístupnění a provázání dvou památek (NKP Loucký klášter; sýpka v Retz) obsahujících infocentrum, výstavní, workshopové a společenské prostory. Realizace vícedenních vzdělanostních, osvětových a popularizačních aktivit pro odbornou i laickou veřejnost (konference, workshopy, turistické poznávací programy) a vytvoření sítě památkových objektů na obou stranách hranice. Přeshraniční kulturní spolupráce rozšíří nabídku během tradičních vícedenních akcí pro veřejnost (festivaly, vinobraní, Dny partnerských měst apod.) Vyšší provázanost odborných institucí, expertů a správců objektů činných v oblasti ochrany kulturního dědictví. Nadregionálně aplikovatelná Metodika obnovy povede k obnově dalších kulturních památek a ke zvyšování jejich turistické atraktivity.
