De plus en plus de problèmes liés à l’agriculture intensive, dominante sur le territoire transfrontalier, sont pointés du doigt : érosion des sols, pollution des nappes phréatiques, perte de biodiversité… il en résulte alors un besoin indéniable d’évoluer vers de nouvelles pratiques plus rationnelles et plus durables. Au cœur de cette évolution : la protection des sols et de l’eau. En effet, ces deux éléments sont primordiaux car de leur gestion dépendent la fertilité des sols agricoles et la qualité des eaux. Pour ces raisons, l’agroforesterie est une pratique innovante qu’il est aujourd’hui question de développer et de matérialiser sur le terrain : c’est un allié de choix pour lutter contre les problèmes de tenue des sols et de pollution des eaux. Les arbres retiennent les terres lors des pluies et absorbent les excédants d’épandage. Le projet TRANS AGRO FOREST entend favoriser leur retour dans les champs tout en étant compatibles avec la mécanisation. Il propose alors d’informer les agriculteurs et techniciens sur le potentiel de l’agroforesterie, mais aussi le grand public de ce que cette évolution représente. Un réseaux de fermes pilotes sera alors créé et alimentera les travaux de communication.

Increasing problems related to intensive agriculture dominant in the cross-border territory are pointed out: soil erosion, groundwater pollution, loss of biodiversity, etc. It then results in an undeniable need to evolve towards new, more rational and sustainable practices. At the heart of this evolution: the protection of soil and water. Indeed, these two elements are paramount because the fertility of agricultural soils and the quality of the water depend on their management. For these reasons, agroforestry is an innovative practice that today needs to be developed and materialised on the ground: it is an ally of choice to fight the problems of soil management and water pollution. Trees retain soils during rains and absorb the excesses of agricultural spreading. The TRANS AGRO FOREST project intends to encourage their return to the fields while being compatible with mechanisation. It therefore proposes to inform farmers and technicians, but also the general public, about the potential of agroforestry and what this evolution represents. A network of pilot farms will be created and will feed into the communication work.

Er wordt steeds meer gewezen op problemen die gerelateerd zijn aan de intensieve landbouw die overheersend is in het grensgebied: bodemerosie, grondwaterverontreiniging, verlies van biodiversiteit enz. Dit leidt tot een onmiskenbare noodzaak om te evolueren in de richting van nieuwe, rationelere en duurzame praktijken. Centraal in deze evolutie staat de bescherming van bodem en water. Deze twee elementen zijn immers essentieel, want de vruchtbaarheid van de landbouwgrond en de kwaliteit van het water hangen van hun beheer af. Om deze redenen is boslandbouw een innovatieve praktijk die moet worden ontwikkeld en concreet toegepast. Dit is een ideale partner in de strijd tegen de problemen rond bodembeheer en waterverontreiniging. Bomen houden de aarde vast bij regen en absorberen overtollige bemesting. Het project TRANS AGRO FOREST wil de terugkeer van bomen naar de akkers aanmoedigen, maar op een manier die verenigbaar is met de mechanisering. Het stelt voor de boeren en technici, maar ook het algemene publiek, te informeren over het potentieel van boslandbouw en wat deze evolutie inhoudt. Er zal een netwerk van pilootboerderijen worden gevormd dat in het communicatiewerk wordt opgenomen.

Achievements (FR):

Depuis le démarrage du projet TRANS AGRO FOREST au 1er octobre 2016, différentes actions selon les axes de travail du projet ont été développées. D’une part, le projet TRANS AGRO FOREST ayant de nombreuses interactions avec le portefeuille FEEL WOOD, a intégré des actions de communication commune. Au commencement, un événement de lancement commun s’est tenu le 1er juin 2017 au domaine de Graux à Tournai (BE). Ensuite, pour garder des contacts étroits avec les opérateurs des projets constitutifs, deux journées de teambuilding se sont déroulées. Parallèlement, les chefs de file des différents projets ont participé aux évènements annuels des autorités Interreg. Un d’entre eux axé sur la communication et nommé « Mon projet en 180 secondes » articulé sous forme de concours de présentation de projet a permis à FEEL WOOD, en étant lauréat, de remporter une vidéo de présentation du portefeuille. Ces collaborations ont aussi permis de coorganiser des stands d’information et de sensibilisation. C’est grâce à cette mutualisation que les opérateurs ont été présents sur des foires d’envergure telles que DEMO FOREST et Libramont. Ce fut le cas avec le projet FORET PRO BOS sur les foires de Libramont ou encore lors de la tenue d'un stand de présentation des actions du portefeuille de projets FEEL WOOD et de ses projets constitutifs sur la foire forestière de DEMOFOREST en 2019. Toutes les actions, qu’elles soient co-organisées ou non, ont été relayées vers l’ensemble des opérateurs du portefeuille de projet notamment par le biais d'un rapport semestriel interne d'activités. D’autre part, les opérateurs ont développé des moyens de communication pour le projet. Ces actions ont débuté par la création concertée et l’obtention des versions finales de différents outils (Roll's up, flyers et site internet). Cela s’est fait suite à un marché commun à l'ensemble du portefeuille de projets FEEL WOOD à l’image des interactions relatées précédemment. L’outil principal de communication constitué par le site internet https://www.transagroforest.eu a été mis en ligne et ensuite actualisé pour être en conformité avec le RGPD. Ensuite, selon les opportunités, ont été tenues des actions de communication auprès du monde agricole sous forme de séances d'information et de formations. Des actions de plus grandes ampleurs telles que la tenue d'un stand commun aux projets TRANS AGRO FOREST et FORET PRO BOS sur la foire agricole de Libramont en 2017 ainsi qu'une présence des opérateurs sur la foire de Libramont en 2018 ou encore la création d’une parcelle démonstrative agroforestière animée par les partenaires sur le site de DEMOFOREST à Bertrix en 2017 et 2019 ont permis de faire connaître le projet au sein de la filière. Le chapitre communication ayant aussi pour objectif de présenter des modèles innovants d’agroforesterie par le biais de fermes pilotes, des tournages de vidéos et interview visant à alimenter la chaîne YOUTUBE et le site web du projet ont eu lieu. ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKf3ufav_542cVFQJZYdvxA ) 24 fermes ont été retenues pour faire l’objet de cette communication. En parallèle, le site internet a été alimenté de publications, articles et actualités. Sur le chapitre technique, les opérateurs se sont concertés sur la thématique agroforestière. De manière préliminaire et pour rendre cette démarche constructive, une mise à niveau des compétences des opérateurs s’est faite par le biais de réunions de concertation. Cette actualisation a permis d’aborder sereinement l’étude des modèles agroforestiers pertinents (types d'éléments, législation, implantation, etc.). Ensuite a pu commencer l’édition d'outils d'information, d'analyse et d'aide à la décision. Les premiers éléments constitués d’un formulaires d'audit des agriculteurs et d’outils techniques de diagnostic suite à l'identification in situ des éléments agroforestiers (canevas et nomenclature communs aux trois versants) ont mené à l’élaboration du modèle type du « plan de gestion agroforestier ». Celui-ci vise à organiser et planifier les actions à mener sur les projets agroforestiers. Par la suite, d’autres éléments annexes sont venus compléter le panel des outils techniques. Il s’agit d’une « Nomenclature commune des fournitures et prestations agroforestières », d’une « Mercuriales transfrontalières de prix », d’une « Synthèse des itinéraires agroforestiers performants » ou encore d’un « Lexique agroforestier ». L’ensemble de ces outils, complétés, enseignements du projet ont donné naissance à un ouvrage de référence nommé « Guide technique de bonnes pratiques agroforestières ». Tous ces outils sont disponibles sur le site internet du projet. Tout au long du projet, les opérateurs ont continué d’assister à des journées d'études et d'informations visant à confirmer et actualiser la pertinence des modèles envisagés. Visant une concertation élargie de la thématique, TRANS AGRO FOREST à sollicité l’avis de nombreux experts de la filière. A cette fin a été mis sur pied un « Comité d'experts transfrontaliers » auquel les opérateurs ont pu se référer. Trois journées de concertation avec ces experts ont eu lieu. Une préliminaire ayant pour vocation d'identifier les acteurs agroforestiers présents sur le territoire transfrontalier. Une deuxième sous forme de visites de fermes suivies par le projet aux alentours d'Amiens (F) avec présentation du canevas du plan de gestion et des outils techniques. Ensuite, une troisième édition a eu pour objectif d’étudier, avec les experts sélectionnés, un cas pratique de problématique des sols et de l’eau ayant généré des coulées boueuses et lié aux méthodes agricoles pour lequel l’agroforesterie pourrait être une solution à apporter. Enfin, visant à illustrer les modèles agroforestiers du territoire Interreg, les opérateurs ont mis en œuvre la création d’un « réseau agroforestier transfrontalier ». Il est constitué de 24 projets agroforestiers de référence. Pour cela, de nombreuses visites communes d'exploitations agricoles ont lieu dans le but de choisir des modèles et projets agroforestiers justifiant une mise en évidence en tant que projet pilote. Ceux ayant retenu l’attention des opérateurs ont été suivis et accompagnés. Ils ont intégré selon les cas le panel de fermes de démonstration comptant 24 fermes. Celles-ci sont illustrées par des plans d’implantation, un audit agroforestier ainsi qu’une vidéo interview du porteur de projet illustrée par diverses images et prises de vue aériennes par drone consultables par le biais du site internet et de la chaîne YOUTUBE en fin de projet. Pour conclure ce projet prenant fin le 31 mars 2021, les opérateurs du projet TRANS AGRO FOREST ont tenu leur événement de clôture le 12 mars 2021. La journée initialement prévue s’est transformée en une matinée de restitution par visioconférence vu le contexte de crise sanitaire. Les opérateurs y ont présenté l’ensemble des réalisations du projet et rendu accessible par le biais du site internet les outils techniques et supports de communication édités.

Achievements (EN):

Since the start of the TRANS AGRO FOREST project on 1 October 2016, different actions according to the project’s work lines have been developed. On the one hand, the TRANS AGRO FOREST project, having many interactions with the FEEL WOOD portfolio, has integrated joint communication actions. Initially, a joint launch event was held on 1 June 2017 at the Domaine de Graux in Tournai (BE). Then, to keep close contacts with the operators of the constituent projects, two days of teambuilding took place. At the same time, the leaders of the various projects participated in the annual events of the Interreg authorities. One of them focused on communication and named “My project in 180 seconds” articulated in the form of a project presentation competition allowed FEEL WOOD, as a winner, to win a video presentation of the portfolio. These collaborations also made it possible to co-organise information and awareness stands. It is thanks to this mutualisation that operators have been present at major fairs such as DEMO FOREST and Libramont. This was the case with the FORET PRO BOS project on Libramont fairs or during the holding of a booth presenting the actions of the FEEL WOOD project portfolio and its constitutive projects on the DEMOFOREST forest fair in 2019. All the actions, whether co-organised or not, were relayed to all operators of the project portfolio, in particular through an internal six-monthly report of activities. On the other hand, the operators have developed means of communication for the project. These actions began with the concerted creation and final versions of various tools (Roll’s up, flyers and website). This followed a common market for the entire portfolio of FEEL WOOD projects in line with the interactions previously reported. The main communication tool set up by the website https://www.transagroforest.eu was put online and then updated to comply with the GDPR. Then, depending on the opportunities, communication actions were held with the agricultural world in the form of information sessions and training. Larger actions such as the holding of a joint stand for TRANS AGRO FOREST and FORET PRO BOS projects at the Libramont agricultural fair in 2017 as well as a presence of operators at the Libramont fair in 2018 or the creation of an agroforestry demonstrative plot led by the partners on the DEMOFOREST site in Bertrix in 2017 and 2019 made it possible to publicise the project within the sector. The communication chapter also aims to present innovative agroforestry models through pilot farms, video shoots and interview to feed the YOUTUBE channel and the project website took place. (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKf3ufav_542cVFQJZYdvxA) 24 farms were selected to be the subject of this communication. At the same time, the website was fed with publications, articles and news. On the technical chapter, the operators consulted on the agroforestry theme. In a preliminary manner and in order to make this approach constructive, operators’ competences were upgraded through consultation meetings. This update allowed a serene approach to the study of relevant agroforestry models (element types, legislation, implementation, etc.). Then began editing information, analysis and decision support tools. The first elements consisting of a farmer’s audit forms and technical diagnostic tools following the in situ identification of agroforestry elements (canvas and nomenclature common to the three sides) led to the development of the standard model of the “agriforest management plan”. It aims to organise and plan the actions to be carried out on agroforestry projects. Subsequently, additional annexes were added to the technical tools panel. It is a “Common Nomenclature of agroforestry supplies and services”, a “Cross-border Price Mercurials”, a “Synthesis of efficient agroforestry routes” or “Agriforestry Glossary”. All these tools are available on the project website. Throughout the project, operators continued to attend study and information days to confirm and update the relevance of the envisaged models. With a view to wide-ranging consultation on the subject, TRANS AGRO FOREST sought the advice of many experts in the sector. To this end, a “Committee of Cross-Border Experts” was set up to which operators were able to refer. Three days of consultation with these experts took place. A preliminary aimed at identifying agroforestry actors present on cross-border territory. A second in the form of farm visits followed by the project around Amiens (F) with presentation of the canvas of the management plan and technical tools. Then, a third edition aimed at studying, together with the selected experts, a practical case of soil and water problems that generated muddy flows and related to agricultural methods for which agroforestry could be a solution. Finally, aimed at illustrating the agroforestry models of the Interreg territory, the operators implemented the creation of a “cross-border agroforestry network”. It consists of 24 reference agroforestry projects. For this purpose, many joint visits of agricultural holdings are carried out with the aim of choosing agroforestry models and projects justifying highlighting as a pilot project. Those who caught the attention of the operators were followed and accompanied. As appropriate, they have integrated the 24-farm demonstration farm panel. These are illustrated by implementation plans, an agroforestry audit as well as a video interview with the project owner illustrated by various aerial images and shots by drone which can be consulted via the website and the YOUTUBE channel at the end of the project. To conclude this project ending on 31 March 2021, the TRANS AGRO FOREST project operators held their closing event on 12 March 2021. The day initially planned was transformed into a morning of restitution by videoconference given the context of the health crisis. The operators presented all the project’s achievements and made the technical tools and communication materials published on the website accessible.
