La région transfrontalière Hauts-De-France, Wallonie et Flandre est la première région transfrontalière européenne dans la production de textiles à usages techniques. Elle regroupe environ 400 entreprises pour un chiffre d'affaires de 5 milliards d'euros et concentre 17% des effectifs de recherche et formation dans le textile au niveau européen. Les textiles techniques à usage médical figurent parmi les domaines d'application les plus dynamiques, avec des taux de croissance supérieurs à la moyenne et des niveaux d'investissement en R&D et innovation plus importants. Cependant, le principal frein au développement reste le manque de communication entre le monde médical (clinique, recherche et industrie) et le monde textile (recherche et industrie). Le projet MDTex a alors pour objectif la construction d’un réseau transfrontalier franco-belge dans le domaine des dispositifs médicaux textiles. En mettant en commun leurs réseaux et compétences, les partenaires du projet visent à stimuler un décloisonnement des filières santé et textile pour associer des expertises croisées et technologiques nécessaires au développement de produits. L'ambition de MDTex est de donner à la zone transfrontalière une visibilité Européenne comme acteur de premier plan dans le secteur des dispositifs médicaux textiles.

The cross-border region Hauts-De-France, Wallonia and Flanders is the leading cross-border European region in the production of textiles for technical purposes. It comprises around 400 companies with a turnover of 5 billion euros and concentrates 17% of the textile research and training staff at the European level. Technical textiles for medical use are among the most dynamic fields of application, with above-average growth rates and greater levels of R&D and innovation investment. However, the main obstacle to development remains the lack of communication between the medical world (clinical, research and industry) and the textile world (research and industry). The MDTex project, therefore, aims to build a cross-border Franco-Belgian network in the field of textile medical devices. By pooling their networks and skills, the project partners aim to stimulate decompartmentalisation of the health and textile sectors to combine the cross-functional and technological expertise required for product development. The aim of MDTex is to give the cross-border region European visibility as a leading stakeholder in the field of textile medical devices.

De grensstreek van Hauts-de-France, Wallonië en Vlaanderen is de belangrijkste Europese grensregio voor de productie van textiel voor technische doeleinden. Ze telt zo’n 400 ondernemingen met een omzet van € 5 miljard euro en concentreert 17% van de werknemers in textielonderzoek en -opleidingen op Europees niveau. Technisch textiel voor medisch gebruik behoort tot de meest dynamische toepassingsgebieden, met groeicijfers die boven het gemiddelde liggen en hogere niveaus van investeringen in O&O en innovatie. De voornaamste hinderpaal voor de ontwikkeling blijft echter het gebrek aan communicatie tussen de medische wereld (klinisch, onderzoek en industrie) en de textielsector (onderzoek en industrie). Daarom wil het project MDTex een grensoverschrijdend, Frans-Belgisch netwerk in het domein van het medische textiel tot stand brengen. Door hun netwerken en competenties samen te voegen, beogen de partners de kloof tussen de gezondheids- en de textielsector te dichten en zo de nodige multifunctionele en technologische expertise voor productontwikkeling te combineren. MDTex wil de grensstreek op Europees niveau zichtbaarheid geven als toonaangevende actor op het gebied van het medische textiel.

Achievements (FR):

Le projet MDTEx, démarré le 1er avril 2017, repose sur le développement d'un réseau transfrontalier franco-belge, dans le domaine des dispositifs médicaux textiles. En mettant en commun leurs réseaux et compétences, les partenaires visent à stimuler un décloisonnement des filières santé et textile afin d'associer des expertises croisées et des technologies nécessaires au développement de produits. Ce cluster encourage l'émergence de projets et produits textiles santé, en offrant à leur porteur les infrastructures pour se rencontrer, compléter des consortiums, collaborer et créer de nouvelles opportunités. Notre cluster agit comme facilitateur de l'innovation et comme accélérateur du transfert de technologies vers l'industrie. Afin d'encourager l'émergence de projets, le projet MDTEX a identifié 6 thématiques médicales : les implants, la filtration biologique, la médecine régénérative, la compression et la contention, le monitoring, et la médecine thérapeutique. Au sein du projets, on compte 44 entretiens réalisés avec des key opinions leaders, reconnus dans ces domaines pour leurs prouesses médicales ou leurs idées novatrices sont rencontrés et interrogés afin de récolter les besoins des praticiens. Certains ont été rencontré à une occasion, sur un et ont apporté une problématique sur une thématique, tandis que d'autres sont intervenant dans plusieurs thématiques, comme le professeur Devauchelle. C'est une trentaine de KOL différents, repartis sur le versant français et flamands qui ont amené des sujets de discussion. Eurasanté a réalisé des guides d'entretiens, permettant ainsi à tous les membres du consortium de mener les entretiens de manière identique. Au cours des premiers semestres du projet, les membres du consortium se sont attelés à la mise en place de toute la partie administrative et de la gestion projet avec la signature de la convention et de la mise en place d'une plateforme collaborative nommée ASTRIDE, permettant l'échange de documents entre les partenaires. Rapidement, et en respectant la réglementation RGPD, les éléments de communication ont été mis en place, comme le site internet qui cumule 2023 visiteurs depuis le démarrage du projet (www.interreg-mdtex.eu), la création de comptes sur les réseaux sociaux (twitter et linkedin) nous ayant apporté 4046 interactions, les kakémonos, les brochures du projet ainsi que le canevas de la newsletter, en français et en néerlandais. Sur l’intégralité du projet, 5 newsletters ont d’ailleurs été envoyé, toutes bilingues. Puisque le projet concerne la création d'un réseau, le consortium s'est également occupé de réaliser une cartographie des acteurs du domaine, afin de traduire la base de données de manière visuelle. Cette base de données est mise à jour en fonction des rencontres, des salons effectués et des évènements organisés. La base de données contient plus 600814 contacts actuellement, et ne cesse d'être approvisionné par les rencontres faites lors des salons et des ateliers. L'évènement de lancement du projet s'est déroulé le 13 mars 2018, à Charleroi où médecins, chercheurs et entreprises étaient au rendez-vous. Lors de cette journée, le premier atelier s'est déroulé sur la thématique du monitoring. Suite à l'évènement de lancement, le consortium a organisé d'autres ateliers thématiques ainsi que des visites de laboratoire et d'entreprises afin de dynamiser les rencontres réseau. Ainsi, depuis le début du projet, toutes les thématiques ont été traités avec pas moins de 7 ateliers réalisés : les implants, le monitoring, la filtration biologique, la médecine régénérative et la compression et la contention avec une moyenne de 20 participants lors des ateliers. G grâce à une quarantaine de KOL sollicités pour leurs besoins terrains. L'organisation de 4 visites lors de ces ateliers a permis aux participants de rencontrer l'entreprise Cousin Biotech, Bones Thérapeutics, Japet Medical, ainsi que le laboratoire de recherche de la Kulak. D’autres étaient programmés. Malheureusement le COVID, ses multiples confinements et restrictions sanitaires n’ont pas permis au consortium de tous les réaliser. Néanmoins, pas moins de 14 évènements ont été organisés entre les visites d’entreprises, les évènements de lancement et de clôture, et les ateliers de brainstroming. Au total, on compte 252 participants à ces évènements, sur l’intégralité du projet MDTEX Le projet MDTEX a participé à plusieurs salons : afin de rencontrer des acteurs de la zone et de mettre à jour la cartographie, tout en faisant connaître le projet, le consortium s'est rendu sur le salon Medica de l'édition 2019. Le consortium a également tenu un stand afin de mettre en avant le projet lors de l'édition 2019 de la convention d'affaires MedFit-BioFit, qui s'est déroulé à Lille grand Palais. En 2020, lors de la version digitalisée de la convention d'affaires MedFit, le consortium a pris le parti de réaliser un second atelier sur la thématique de la filtration biologique, avec une nouvelle approche : la filtration à l'ère de la COVID-19. En effet, la pandémie mondiale a révélé des sujets de protections individuelles mais également collectives, qu'il nous a semblé intéressant d'aborder en tant que projet médical. Le projet MDTEX a organisé son évènement de clôture le 9 décembre 2022, lors de la convention d’affaires Digitalisées MedFit Biofit. Cet évènement 100% digitalisé àa rassemblé 34 participants en ligne ce qui a permis aux membres du consortium d’avoir des interactions avec le public tout au long de l’évènement. La chef de fil du projet MDTEX a également participé à plusieurs évènement mis en place par le portefeuille projet GoToS3. Elle a notamment participé aux ateliers de cross innovation où le projet (factice) Jewell, fruit de synergies entre expertises, compétences et technologies de pointe des projets a émergé, co-pensé avec les projets Bioharv, Biocompal, Duratex, Factory 4.0 et Protopitch.

The MDTex project, started on 1 April 2017, is based on the development of a Franco-Belgian cross-border network in the field of textile medical devices. By pooling their networks and skills, the partners aim to stimulate a decompartmentalisation of the health and textile sectors in order to combine the cross-expertises and technologies necessary for the development of products. This cluster encourages the emergence of health textile projects and products, offering them the infrastructure to meet, complete consortia, collaborate and create new opportunities. Our cluster acts as a facilitator of innovation and as an accelerator of technology transfer to industry. In order to encourage the emergence of projects, the MDTex project identified 6 medical themes: implants, biological filtration, regenerative medicine, compression and restraint, monitoring, and therapeutic medicine. Within the project, there are 44 interviews conducted with key opinion leaders, recognised in these fields for their medical prowess or their innovative ideas are met and interviewed in order to reap the needs of practitioners. Some were met on one occasion, on one and brought a problem on a theme, while others are involved in several themes, such as Professor Devauchelle. It is about thirty different KOLs, leaving on the French and Flemish sides that brought topics for discussion. Eurasanté has produced interview guides, allowing all members of the consortium to conduct the interviews in the same way. During the first semesters of the project, the consortium members set up the entire administrative part and project management with the signing of the agreement and the setting up of a collaborative platform called ASTRIDE, allowing the exchange of documents between the partners. Quickly, and in compliance with the GDPR regulations, the communication elements were put in place, such as the website that has accumulated 2023 visitors since the start of the project (www.interreg-mdtex.eu), the creation of accounts on social networks (twitter and linkedin) having brought us 4046 interactions, the kakemonos, the project brochures as well as the canvas of the newsletter, in French and Dutch. Over the entire project, 5 newsletters were sent, all bilingual. Since the project concerns the creation of a network, the consortium has also carried out a mapping of the actors in the field, in order to translate the database visually. This database is updated according to the meetings, fairs and events organised. The database contains more than 600814 contacts currently, and is constantly being supplied by meetings made at fairs and workshops. The launch event of the project took place on March 13, 2018, in Charleroi where doctors, researchers and companies were there. During this day, the first workshop took place on the theme of monitoring. Following the launch event, the consortium organised other thematic workshops as well as laboratory and business visits to boost network meetings. Thus, since the beginning of the project, all the themes have been dealt with with no less than 7 workshops carried out: implants, monitoring, biological filtration, regenerative medicine and compression and restraint with an average of 20 participants during the workshops. G thanks to about 40 KOLs requested for their land needs. The organisation of 4 visits during these workshops allowed participants to meet the company Cousin Biotech, Bones Therapeutics, Japet Medical, as well as the Kulak research laboratory. Others were programmed. Unfortunately COVID, its multiple lockdowns and health restrictions have not allowed the consortium to achieve them all. However, no fewer than 14 events were organised between company visits, launch and closing events, and brainstroming workshops. In total, there are 252 participants in these events, out of the entire MDTex project The MDTex project has participated in several fairs: in order to meet stakeholders in the area and update the mapping, while making the project known, the consortium visited the 2019 Medica fair. The consortium also held a stand to highlight the project at the 2019 edition of the MedFit-BioFit business agreement, which took place in Lille grand Palais. In 2020, during the digitalised version of the MedFit business agreement, the consortium decided to carry out a second workshop on the topic of biological filtration, with a new approach: filtration in the era of COVID-19. Indeed, the global pandemic has revealed topics of individual but also collective protection, which we considered interesting to address as a medical project. The MDTex project organised its closing event on December 9, 2022, during the MedFit Biofit digitalised business agreement.
