Målet er å se om regionens geologi kan brukes enda mer aktivt som bærekraftig reisemål, hvordan den kan formidles og hvordan vi kan bruke de geologiske forholdene i regionen som en pilot for en nasjonal forvaltning for begge landene på dette området. Regionen hyser stora geologiska naturvärden varav en del utgör viktiga delar av vårt geologiska arv. Dessa värden kan göras mer kända för såväl den fysiska planeringen som besöksnäringen.

Description (EN):

The objective is to see if the geology of the region can be used only more actively as a goal of the reise, as a pilot for a nasjonal management for both landene in the region. The region has great geological natural values, some of which are important parts of our geological heritage. These values can be made more known for both spatial planning and the hospitality industry.

Achievements (NO):

Turisme basert på geologi er en næring i vekst. Nå har turister som besøker Folldal, Fulufjellet, Siljansringen fått et bedre tilrettelagt tilbud av opplevelser. Gjennom prosjektet GEARS – Geologiskt arv i indre Skandinavien har aktører fra Norge og Sverige bidratt til å forbedre kunnskapsgrunnlaget om regionens geologiske arv. Videre har prosjektet utviklet forslag til formidlingsmetoder som gjør at den geologiske informasjonen kan anvendes bedre i formidlingsøyemed og forvaltning. For eksempel kan du bli med på VR-tur i Folldal gruver och Jutulhogget. Du går stien virtuelt ved å selv velge hvilken vei du vil klikke deg til ved å snu på kameraet opptil 360 grader. Du kan også klikke på hvilket innhold du vil se på hvert punkt i stien som lydfiler, videoer eller tekst. God tur! Ytterligare ett spännande resultat från projektet är att en av projektdeltagarna startat företaget Vis-Syn som stödjer lokala entreprenörer att utveckla digital förmedling av natur- och kulturarv. I GEARS deltog geologer och aktörer inom naturförvaltning och besöksnäring för att utveckla kunskapsöverföring och kunskapsinsamling av geologiska naturvärden. Prosjektet er nå i mål. Resultatet finns nu publicerat i en slutrapport och sammanfattas även i filmen ovanför. Fler filmer från projektet finns också på den svenska projektägarens Sveriges geologiska undersöknings Youtube-kanal. GEARS-prosjektet er et samarbeid mellom Sveriges geologiska undersökning (SGU) og Norges geologiske undersøkelse (NGU). Prosjektet ble støttet av Interreg Sverige-Norge programmet.

Achievements (EN):

Tourism based on geology is a growing industry. Now tourists who visit Folldal, Fulufjellet, Siljansringen have a better organized offer of experiences. Through the project GEARS - Geological heritage in inner Scandinavia, actors from Norway and Sweden have contributed to improving the knowledge base about the region's geological heritage. Furthermore, the project has developed proposals for dissemination methods that enable the geological information to be used better for dissemination purposes and management. For example, you can join a VR tour in Folldal mines and Jutulhogget. You walk the path virtually by choosing which path you want to click to by turning the camera up to 360 degrees.You can also click on what content you want to see at each point in the path such as audio files, videos or text.Have a nice trip! Another exciting result from the project is that one of the project participants started the company Vis-Syn, which supports local entrepreneurs to develop digital communication of natural and cultural heritage. In GEARS, geologists and actors in nature management and tourism industry participated to develop knowledge transfer and knowledge collection of geological natural values. The project is now on target. The result is now published in a final report and is also summarized in the film above. More films from the project can also be found on the Swedish project owner's Swedish Geological Survey's YouTube channel. The GEARS project is a collaboration between the Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU) and the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU). The project was supported by the Interreg Sweden-Norway programme.
