The background for the project is a growing tourism industry in Trysil/Dalarna, major development plans and the need for new sustainable transport solutions. The main objective of the project is to create a knowledge base on the future traffic picture between Trysil and the Dala Mountains and the surrounding area, as well as to describe possible future scenarios for common cross-border public transport. Expected effects are closer links between regional transport authorities, public transport companies, municipalities and private actors in Hedmark and Dalarna, and that it leads to good and sustainability transport for tourists and residents.

Bakgrunn for prosjektet er en voksende turistnæring i Trysil/Dalarna, store utbyggingsplaner og behov for nye bærekreftige transportløsninger. Prosjektets hovedmål er å skape et kunnskapsunderlag om fremtidens trafikkbilde mellom Trysil og Dalafjellene og området rundt, samt beskrive mulige fremtidssenarier for felles grenseoverskridende kollektivtransport. Antatte effekter er tettere kobling mellom regionale samferdselsmyndigheter, kollektivtrafikkselskaper, kommuner og private aktører i Hedmark og Dalarna, og at det fører til en god og bærekrafting transport for turister og innbyggere.

Region Dalarna har tillsammans med Hedmark fylkeskommune och Hedmark trafikk i Norge utrett möjligheterna till att bedriva kollektivtrafik i gränsregionen Dalafjällen – Trysil och trafikera den nya flygplatsen Scandinavian Mountain Airport i Sälen/Rörbäcksnäs. Parterna har varit på studiebesök på flygplatsen och fått presentation av projektet och en guidad visning på plats. Trysil kommune og Skistar Trysil har også vært prosjektdeltakere og har deltatt med innspill i prosessen. Utredningen som förvaltningarna i de båda länderna tillsammans har genomfört har dels haft till syfte att ta fram ett kunskapsunderlag om gränsöverskridande kollektivtrafik, dels att utreda förutsättningarna för att bedriva sådan i området Dalafjällen – Trysil via flygplatsen. Parterna har tittat på hur trafiken ser ut i dag, vilka behov som finns och vilka behov som bedöms kunna uppstå till följd av öppnandet av flygplatsen. När utredningsuppdraget först nådde oss så fanns det tillhörande köpcentrumet med i de konkreta planerna, vilket nu har skjutits på framtiden. Det har förstås påverkat de resandeprognoser vi haft som grund för våra slutsatser. I dagsläget bedömer kollektivtrafikmyndigheterna i det båda länderna att det inte finns underlag för att köra linjelagd trafik med fasta tidtabelle till eller från flygplatsen eller mellan de båda huvudorterna Sälen och Trysil. Olika upplägg har utretts. Ett med genomgående trafik som kör hela vägen mellan de båda orterna och ett upplägg med bussar som vänder på flygplatsen och eventuella resor som går hela vägen Sälen - Trysil får ett byte på flygplatsen. Inget av dessa bedöms i dagsläget ha tillräckligt resandeunderlag för en turlagd linje. Parterna har inte uteslutit att det i framtiden kan komma att finnas underlag för allmän linjelagd kollektivtrafik på sträckan och/eller i området. Det kan vara trafik som avgår efter beställning, så kallad anropsstyrd trafik eller linjetrafik som ansluter till vissa flyg med stort antal reguljära resenärer. Parterna kommer att följa flygplatsens utveckling och även Scandinavian Mountains planer för köpcentrumet och nya bedömningar kommer att göras när behov uppstår.

Achievements (EN):

Region Dalarna, together with Hedmark county municipality and Hedmark traffick in Norway, have investigated the possibilities of public transport in the border region Dalafjällen — Trysil and operate the new Scandinavian Mountain Airport airport in Sälen/Rörbäcksnäs. The parties have been on study visits to the airport and received a presentation of the project and a guided tour on site. Trysil Municipality og Skistar Trysil has også vært prosjektdeltakere og has participated in the prosess. The study carried out by the administrations of the two countries together was aimed at developing a knowledge base on cross-border public transport and, on the other hand, to investigate the conditions for doing so in the area of Dalafjällen — Trysil via the airport. The parties have looked at the current traffic situation, what needs exist and what needs are expected to arise as a result of the opening of the airport. When the investigation mission first reached us, the associated shopping centre was included in the concrete plans, which has now been postponed to the future. Of course, this has affected the travel forecasts we had as the basis for our conclusions. At present, the public transport authorities in both countries consider that there is no basis for running scheduled services with fixed timetables to or from the airport or between the two main resorts Sälen and Trysil. Different approaches have been investigated. One with continuous traffic that runs all the way between the two resorts and an arrangement with buses turning at the airport and any trips that go all the way Sälen — Trysil gets a change at the airport. None of these are currently considered to have sufficient travel base for a tour route. The parties have not ruled out that in the future there may be a basis for public scheduled public transport services on the route and/or in the area. It can be traffic that departs after order, so-called call-led traffic or regular services that connect to certain flights with large numbers of regular passengers. The parties will follow the development of the airport as well as Scandinavian Mountain’s plans for the shopping centre and new assessments will be made when the need arises.
