Description (EN):

The CARDIOMAC project aims to improve the early diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease (CC) in the Canary Islands, Senegal and Cape Verde. To do this, after having carried out a specific analysis of the situation in the region, the implementation of telemedicine for diagnosis and treatment in partner hospital centers will be promoted, which will be equipped with specific equipment used in the care of more than 100 cases of CC during the life of the project. Likewise, it will be implemented in the Professionalisation Program, for the training of the health personnel of the partner centers through training trips to third countries, and the internship of 12 African health workers to the Canary Islands, where they will treat 20 children with severe heart disease. Finally, the Intercontinental Network of Congenital Cardiopathy will be implemented to collect data, promote research in the field, and promote the cohesion of the region’s public policies.

El proyecto CARDIOMAC pretende mejorar el diagnóstico precoz y tratamiento de las cardiopatías congénitas (CC) en Canarias, Senegal y Cabo Verde. Para ello, después de haber realizado un análisis especifico de la situación en la región, se fomentará la implementación de la telemedicina para el diagnóstico y tratamiento en los centros hospitalarios socios, que serán dotados de equipamiento específico utilizado en la atención de más de 100 casos de CC durante la vida del proyecto. Asimismo, se implementará en Programa de Profesionalización, para la capacitación del personal sanitario de los centros socios a través de viajes de capacitación a los países terceros, y de la pasantía de 12 sanitarios africanos a Canarias, donde tratarán a 20 menores con cardiopatías severas. Finalmente, se implementará la Red Intercontinental de Cardiopatías Congénitas para recoger datos, fomentar la investigación en el ámbito, e fomentar la cohesión de las políticas públicas de región.
