Description (EN):

ViMetRi-MAC is an alternative and complementary environmental risk monitoring project to traditional methods. It provides the following novel values: — Very low cost taking advantage of already installed communications networks. — Real-time weather observation and forecasting. — Data from currently existing weather stations will be improved. — New layer of information based on a video-monitoring system with automatic recognition of weather events. — Incorporates machine learning techniques and algorithms, which will allow detecting, locating and identifying weather events. — Improvement of the resolution of measurements of currently available weather stations. — Adjustment of risk parameters for very limited areas of the geography, e.g., heavy rainfall very focused on the same area. — Monitoring elements will be visible from computers and mobile devices (Smartphone, tablets, etc.).

ViMetRi-MAC es un proyecto de seguimiento de riesgos medioambientales alternativo y complementario a los métodos tradicionales. Aporta los siguientes valores novedosos: - Muy bajo coste aprovechando las redes de comunicaciones ya instaladas. - Observación y predicción meteorológica en tiempo real. - Se mejorarán los datos de las estaciones meteorológicas actualmente existentes. - Nueva capa de información basada en un sistema de video-vigilancia con reconocimiento automático de eventos meteorológicos. - Incorpora técnicas y algoritmos de machine learning, que permitirán detectar, localizar e identificar eventos meteorológicos. - Mejora de la resolución de medidas de las estaciones meteorológicas actualmente disponibles. - Ajuste de parámetros de riesgos por zonas muy limitadas de la geografía, p.e., fuertes precipitaciones muy focalizadas en la misma zona. - Los elementos de monitorización serán visibles desde computadoras y dispositivos móviles (Smartphone, tabletas, etc.).
