Visit Arctic Europe är Interreg Nord-programmens projekt i aktion linje 2. Syften är att utveckla den Nordskandinaviska områden till en enhetlig och internationellt konkurrenskraftig, högklassigt, känd arktisk turismområde. Områdens små och medelstora turismföretag ska samarbeta och utveckla gränskorsande produkter enligt våra områdens specialiteter. Turismvis, Nordskandinavisks åtkomlighet i målmarknader kommer att utvecklas, och rörelse inom områden ska också utvecklas. Projekten fokuserar sig starkt till turismmarknadsföring, och nätverkning och samarbete mellan turismföretag och internationella researrangörer. Gemensam produktutveckling sak säkra högklassiga gränskorsande turismprodukter, som motsvarar de krävande internationella turisters förväntningar. Åtkomligheten anfallas från turismnäringens perspektiv. Gränsbarriärer och andra hinder för rörelse inom området syftas att lösas i samarbete med andra aktörer. Nord-Skandinavien kommer at marknadsföras med en gemensam brand i nuvarande och nya marknadsområde, både mellan företag och direkt till konsumenter. Områden kommer att marknadsföras inriktad i nuvarande och några nya målmarknader. Resultaten ska vara en internationellt känd, högklassig, enhetlig Visit Arctic Europe turismområde. Volymen av turismen kommer at stiga, lönsamheten och handelsomsättning i små och medelstora turismföretag kommer at växa, och internationella kunnigsheten kommer att växa. Områden ska vara lätt åtkomlig och rörelse i områden kommer att vara lättsam för turister.

Description (EN):

Visit Arctic Europe is the Interreg Nord programme project in Action 2. The aim is to develop the northern Scandinavian areas into a unified and internationally competitive, high-quality, well-known Arctic tourism area. Areas’ small and medium-sized tourism companies will cooperate and develop cross-border products according to our areas’ specialties. Turismvis, Nordscandinavisk’s accessibility in target markets will be developed, and movement in areas will also be developed. The projects focus heavily on tourism marketing, and networking and cooperation between tourism companies and international tour operators. Joint product development thing secures high-quality border-crossing tourism products, which meet the expectations of the demanding international tourists. Access is attacked from the perspective of the tourism industry. Border barriers and other obstacles to movement in the area are aimed at solving in cooperation with other actors. Nord-Scandinavia will be marketed with a common fire in current and new market areas, both between companies and directly to consumers. Areas will be marketed focused in current and some new target markets. The results should be an internationally known, high-quality, unified Visit Arctic Europe tourism area. The volume of tourism will rise, profitability and trade turnover in small and medium-sized tourism companies will grow, and international knowledge will grow. Areas should be easily accessible and movement in areas will be easy-going for tourists.

Achievements (SV):

Mål: Målet med projektet var att öka nätverkandet och samarbetet över gränserna genom att t.ex. förbättra tillgängligheten, utöva gemensam turismmarknadsföring samt att utveckla nya produkter och gemensamma produktpaket som uppfyller de internationella turisternas krav. Resultat: Under VAE-projektet har 13 olika nätverksevenemang hållits med ca 100 deltagare vid varje tillfälle. Deltagarna jobbade i workshops med olika utmaningar, t.ex. gränsöverskridande teman och paket, tillgänglighet, marknadens behov, lågsäsongens möjligheter och utmaningar. Enligt den samlade feedbacken har företagen funnit nätverkande mellan företag från olika länder och områden som väldigt viktiga och det har också varit huvudfokus för VAE och basen för samarbetet. För att lära sig och få input från marknaderna och få djupare insikt i marknaden beslutades det att inrätta en referensgrupp bestående av turoperatörer. Utvalda researrangörer har varit inblandade i nätverksevenemang och haft en betydande roll för att sprida kunskapen om de marknader som VAE fokuserade på. Det bästa sättet att visa attraktiviteten hos VAE-området och dess potential som resmål är att uppleva området själv. VAE-projektet organiserade därför 40 gränsöverskridande familiarization trips (Fam trips), med totalt 242 deltagare från nästan 100 olika turoperatörer. Ett resultat av projektets aktiviteter är tex att turoperatörer har skapat olika gränsöverskridande turistpaket för olika säsonger. Projektet har även samlat kunskap från forskning kring framtida resetrender och dititala trender. Lapplands universitet slutförde rapporten ”Disoriented travellers or disoriented destinations? - An analysis of future travel trend studies for Visit Arctic Europe project” i augusti 2016 och LTU slutförde rapporten ”Digital tourism – An analysis of digital trends in tourism and customer digital mobile behavior for the Visit Arctic Europe project” i maj 2017. Achievements (EN):

Objective: The aim of the project was to increase networking and cooperation across borders by, for example, improving accessibility, carrying out joint tourism marketing and developing new products and common product packages that meet the requirements of international tourists. Results: During the VAE project, 13 different networking events have been held with about 100 participants on each occasion. The participants worked in workshops on various challenges, such as cross-border themes and packages, accessibility, market needs, the opportunities of the off-season and challenges. According to the overall feedback, companies have found networking between companies from different countries and areas as very important and it has also been the main focus of VAE and the basis for cooperation. In order to learn and gain input from the markets and gain deeper insight into the market, it was decided to set up a reference group of tour operators. Selected tour operators have been involved in networking events and played a significant role in spreading knowledge about the markets that VAE focused on. The best way to show the attractiveness of the VAE area and its potential as a destination is to experience the area yourself. The VAE project therefore organised 40 cross-border Familiarisation trips (Fam trips), with a total of 242 participants from almost 100 different tour operators. One result of the project’s activities is, for example, that tour operators have created different cross-border tourist packages for different seasons. The project has also gathered knowledge from research into future travel trends and diital trends. The University of Lapland completed the report “Digital tourism — An analysis of digital trends in tourism and customer digital mobile behavior for the Visit Arctic Europe project” in August 2016 and LTU completed the report “Digital tourism — An analysis of digital trends in tourism and customer digital mobile behavior for the Visit Arctic Europe project” in May 2017.
