Description (EN):

The Custody of the Territory has had little development in Spain and Portugal, being anecdotal in the latter country. But in the Macaronesian archipelagos the presence of custody is null and void. It is intended to reverse this situation by establishing a common strategy of Custody of the Territory in Macaronesia based on the experience of the Biosphere Reserves in the practice of sustainable development in order to promote a Network of Custody of the Territory that addresses in a comprehensive and global way the common problem that affects the natural and cultural heritage of the Macaronesian archipelagos, generating synergies with other economic sectors, especially the ecotourism, from citizen participation in the conservation and management of the natural and cultural wealth of the Macaronesian islands.

La Custodia del Territorio ha tenido escaso desarrollo en España y Portugal, siendo anecdótica en este último país. Pero en los archipiélagos macaronésicos la presencia de la custodia es nula. Se pretende invertir esta situación estableciendo una estrategia común de Custodia del Territorio en la Macaronesia tomando como base la experiencia de las Reservas de la Biosfera en la práctica del desarrollo sostenible para así impulsar una Red de Custodia del Territorio que aborde de manera integral y global la problemática común que afecta al patrimonio natural y cultural de los archipiélagos macaronésicos, generando sinergias con otros sectores económicos, especialmente el ecoturístico, desde la participación ciudadana en la conservación y gestión de la riqueza natural y cultural de las islas macaronésicas.
