Rieka Morava predstavuje spoločný výnimočný prírodný fenomén Rakúska a Slovenska. Spolu so svojimi lužnými oblasťami v podobe prirodzených a poloprirodzených biotopov po oboch stranách vodného toku a vzácnej paleontologickej lokality je súčasťou sústavy Natura 2000, cezhraničnej Ramsarskej lokality a vstupnou bránou do Alpsko-Karpatského koridoru. Súčasný nepriaznivý stav viacerých vzácnych prírodných lokalít a nedostatok manažmentových opatrení má za následok neustále zmenšovanie vzácnych habitatov a ohrozených druhov. Zlepšenie umožňuje cielený spoločný cezhraničný manažment prírodného územia, odborný dohľad, zvýšenie environmentálneho povedomia obyvateľov a finančné kapacity. Hlavným cieľom predkladaného projektu je preto obhospodarovanie biotopov spôsobom, umožňujúcim udržanie prepojenia biotopov, biodiverzitu a cenné funkcie ekosystému na oboch stranách rieky Moravy. Projektové aktivity zahŕňajú revitalizáciu a manažment 50 ha suchozemských a vodných biotopov, posilnenie environmentálnej výchovy spojenej s prírodnou turistikou. Navyše budú zriadené 4 ekocentrá na posilnenie budúcej cezhraničnej spolupráce a na uvedomelú starostlivosť o prírodné bohatstvo územia rieky Moravy. Pomocou environmentálnej výchovy bude dennodenne informovaných aspoň 100 000 návštevníkov a hostí o prírodných hodnotách a starostlivosti o toto cezhraničné územie a zvýši sa akceptovateľnosť opatrení na jeho ochranu. Aktivity oslovia občanov a návštevníkov od 6 do 99 rokov, profesionálov a verejnosť. Rovnováha medzi rakúskymi a slovenskými partnermi a spolupráca s významnými strategickými partnermi zabezpečuje úspešnú cezhraničnú spoluprácu a merateľné výsledky v ochrane spoločnej krajiny a viditeľný dosah na cieľové skupiny. Dosiahneme aj akceptáciu a spoluprácu pre budúce aktivity v ochrane prírody na území rieky Moravy.

Die March stellt ein gemeinsames einzigartiges Naturphänomen Österreich und der Slowakei dar. Zusammen mit ihren Augebieten in Form natürlicher und halbnatürlicher Lebensräume beiderseits des Flusses sowie eines seltenen paleontologischen Standortes ist sie Teil des Natura 2000 Netzwerkes, grenzüberschreitenden Ramsargebietes und Trittstein des Alpen-Karpaten-Korridors. Der aktuell ungünstige Zustand mehrerer seltener Naturstandorte und ein Mangel an Managementmaßnahmen, bewirkt den kontinuierlichen Rückgang seltener Lebensräume und gefährdeter Arten. Ein gezieltes grenzüberschreitendes Naturraum-Management, fachliche Aufsicht, Verbesserung des Umweltbewusstseins sowie finanzielle Kapazität ermöglichen eine Verbesserung. Hauptziel des vorliegenden Projektes ist daher, die Lebensräume so zu bewirtschaften, dass die Lebensraumvernetzung, die Biodiversität und die wertvollen Ökosystemleistungen erhalten werden - beiderseits der March. Die Projektaktivitäten umfassen Revitalisierung und Management von 50 ha terrestrischen- und Wasserbiotopen, die Stärkung der Umweltbildung, verbunden mit Naturtourismus. Weiters werden 4 Ökocenter zur Stärkung künftiger grenzüberschreitender Zusammenarbeit sowie zur bewussten Pflege des natürlichen Erbes des Marchgebiets errichtet. Mittels Umweltbildung werden täglich mind. 100 000 Besucher über die Naturwerte und Pflege dieses grenzüberschreitenden Gebiets informiert, die Akzeptanz der Schutzmaßnahmen wird gesteigert. Die Aktivitäten werden Bürger u. Besucher im Alter von 6 bis 99, Fachleute u. die Öffentlichkeit ansprechen. Das Gleichgewicht zwischen österreichischen u. slowakischen Partnern sowie die Kooperation mit wichtigen strategischen Partnern gewährleistet eine erfolgreiche grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit und messbare Ergebnisse im Schutz der gemeinsamen Landschaft sowie einen sichtbaren Einfluss auf die Zielgruppen. Damit wird auch eine Akzeptanz und Zusammenarbeit für künftige Naturschutzaktivitäten im Marchgebiet erreicht.

Description (EN):

The River Morava is a unique natural phenomenon in Austria and Slovakia. Together with its wetlands - in the form of natural and semi-natural habitats on both sides of the river and a rare paleontological site - it is part of the Natura 2000 network, cross-border Ramsar area and stepping stone of the Alpine-Carpathian Corridor. The currently unfavorable state of several rare natural sites and a lack of management measures cause the continuous decline of rare habitats and endangered species. The targeted cross-border natural space management, technical supervision, improvement of the environmental awareness as well as the financial capacity make an improvement possible. The project´s main aim is therefore to manage the habitats in such a way that habitat networking, biodiversity and valuable ecosystem services are maintained on both sides of the River Morava. The project activities include revitalization and management of 50 hectares of terrestrial and water biotopes, strengthening environmental education combined with nature tourism. In addition, 4 eco-centers will be established to strengthen the future cross-border cooperation and conscious care for the natural heritage of the River Morava area. At least 100,000 visitors a day will be informed about the natural values and care for this cross-border area by means of environmental education and the acceptance of the protective measures for its protection will increase. The activities will appeal to citizens and visitors from 6 to 99 years of age, professionals, and public. The balance between Austrian and Slovak partners and cooperation with key strategic partners ensure successful cross-border cooperation and measurable results in the protection of the common landscape and a visible impact on the target groups. This will also result in acceptance and cooperation for future nature conservation activities in the River Morava area.

Expected Results (SK):

Projektové aktivity zahŕňajú revitalizáciu a manažment suchozemských a vodných biotopov na tomto území, posilnenie environmentálnej výchovy spojenej s prírodnou turistikou a vybudovanie potrebnej infraštruktúry v podobe ekocentier tak na slovenskej, ako aj na rakúskej strane. Jednotlivé aktivity projektu sú určené pre všetky vekové kategórie obyvateľov, odbornú aj laickú verejnosť. Pozornosť sa sústreďuje na revitalizáciu zdevastovaných a neudržiavaných vybraných biotopov resp. prvkov ekologickej siete pozdĺž rieky Moravy a ich dlhodobý trvalo udržateľný rozvoj. Úspešná realizácia týchto aktivít jednoznačne prispeje k relevantnému špecifickému cieľu cezhraničného Interreg programu.

Die Projektatkivitäten beinhalten die Revitalisierung und das Management von terrestrischen und aquatischen Lebensräumen im Gebiet, die Stärkung der Umweltbildung und damit verbunden auch des Ökotourismus, sowie die Errichtung von Infrastruktur – Ökozentren – auf österreichischer und slowakischer Seite. Die individuellen Projektaktivitäten orientieren sich an alle Altersgruppen, sowie an professionelle und interessierte Personengruppen. Das Projekt fokussiert auf die Wiederherstellung von ausgesuchten, zerstörten und ungepflegten Biotopen, respektive auf ökologische Netzwerk-Elemente entlang der March und auf die nachhaltige Entwicklung dieser. Die erfolgreiche Realisierung dieser Aktivitäten tragen zum einschlägigen, spezifischen Interreg-Programm Ziel bei.

Expected Results (EN):

The project activities include the revitalization and management of terrestrial and aquatic habitats in the area, strengthening the environmental education and, consequently, ecotourism as well as the construction of infrastructure in the form of eco-centers on both the Austrian and Slovak side. The individual project activities are geared to all age groups as well as to professional and interested groups of people. The project focuses on the restoration of selected destroyed and unkempt biotopes, respectively on ecological network elements along Morava and on the sustainable development of these.
