Description (EN):

REPLIM is a network of scientific centers and managers specialised in the dynamics of high mountain lakes and peatbogs and their relationship with Climate Change (CC). Pyrenean lakes and peatbogs are iconic elements of our landscape, and vulnerable to recent climate change. REPLIM will implement a Pyrenean network of observatories of lakes and peatbogs designed to undertake the challenge of evaluating the CC impact on the high altitude areas and to provide robust scientific data to develop policies of mitigation and adaptation. The project aims to enhance the cooperation between the beneficiaries (scientific centers) and the associated stakeholders (managers, citizenship) of all the Pyrenean territories in order to jointly launch and maintain the REPLIM network. The Project will characterise the CC at both local (territories) and regional (Pyrenees) scales, reconstruct the past changes, document the present trends and model the foreseable future impacts. REPLIM will also increase awareness among the stakeholders,and the citizenship about the special relationship between CC, the mountains and these sensitive ecosystems, REPLIM will contribute to develop and implement the strategy and action plan of the Pyrenean Observatory of Climate Change (OPCC). It will armonise the CC indicators and help to define an strategy of management integrated with the socio-economic development of the Pyrenees.

Le réseau d’observatoires des écosystèmes sensibles au CC est conçu à la fois pour relever le défi de l'évaluation de l'impact des CC sur le territoire pyrénéen et pour développer des politiques d'atténuation et d'adaptation basées sur des connaissances scientifiques. Le projet à pour objectif : i) d’accroître la coopération entre les bénéficiaires (organismes scientifiques) et les partenaires associés (gestionnaires, citoyens) sur le territoire pyrénéen ; ii) de mettre en œuvre un réseau d'observatoires permettant de caractériser le CC aux échelles locale et régionale ; iii) d’identifier les évolutions passées, les dynamiques récentes et les possibilités d’évolutions futures ; iv) de normaliser les indicateurs du CC ; v) de diffuser auprès de la population et des acteurs territoriaux les liens et interactions entre le CC et les écosystèmes sensibles ; vi) de sensibiliser le public aux impacts du CC; vii) d’aider à la définition d’une stratégie de gestion intégrée en accord avec le développement social et économique des régions Pyrénéennes. Enfin, les résultats du projet REPLIM contribueront à développer le plan stratégique et d'action de l'Observatoire Pyrénéen du Changement Climatique (OPPC) durant les trois prochaines années.

La red REPLIM integra centros científicos y gestores especializados en el conocimiento de indicadores del Cambio Climático (CC) en lagos y turberas de alta montaña que constituyen además elementos icónicos del paisaje pirenaico. La REd Pirenaica de observatorios de ecosistemas vulnerables – lagos y turberas – al cambio climático está diseñada para responder al reto de evaluar el impacto CC en el territorio y desarrollar políticas de mitigación y adaptación basadas en el conocimiento científico. El proyecto persigue aumentar la cooperación entre los beneficiarios (centros científicos) y entidades asociadas (gestores, ciudadanos) de todos los territorios pirenaicos para entre todos poner en marcha una red de observatorios de estos ecosistemas vulnerables que permita caracterizar el CC a escala tanto local como de todo el territorio, identificar los impactos pasados, recientes y previsibles en el futuro, homogeneizar los indicadores de CC, difundir entre la población y los agentes la especial relación entre CC y ecosistemas sensibles, sensibilizar a la ciudadanía de los impactos del CC y ayudar a definir una estrategia de gestión integrada con el desarrollo social y económica del territorio pirenaico. Los resultados de REPLIM contribuirán a que se desarrolle y ejecute la estrategia y el plan de acción del Observatorio Pirenaico del Cambio Climático en los próximos tres años.
