La mayor parte de la superficie forestal pirenaica está en zonas de montaña, con elevadas pendientes y pocas infraestructuras, lo que dificulta la rentabilidad de las intervenciones. La actividad empresarial del sector es baja y el consumo muy dependiente de las importaciones. iForWood es un proyecto de innovación para conseguir una mayor valorización de los productos forestales. Su finalidad es la de contribuir al aumento de la rentabilidad de los aprovechamientos forestales y la mejora de la competitividad y productividad de las empresas madereras pirenaicas a través de la cooperación en materia de I+D+i. Los objetivos específicos son: - Formar e informar a profesionales del sector, forestales y prescriptores de madera en nuevas herramientas, fórmulas de comercialización, productos madereros y sus aplicaciones. - Incorporar nuevas herramientas, técnicas y metodologías en los aprovechamientos forestales y la venta de la madera en los Pirineos. - Mejorar e innovar en los procesos de transformación y comercialización de los productos madereros pirenaicos. El proyecto se estructura en 5 acciones: 0. Preparación del proyecto. 1. Gestión del proyecto. 2. Actividades de comunicación. 3. Desarrollo de nuevos instrumentos para el conocimiento de los recursos forestales de los Pirineos y para mejorar la movilización y venta de madera. 4. Proyectos piloto innovadores en transformación de la madera para la valorización de los productos madereros pirenaicos.

La plus grande part de la superficie forestière pyrénéenne est en zone de montagne avec des pentes raides et peu d’infrastructures, ce qui rend leur exploitation difficilement rentable. L’activité professionnelle du secteur forestier est faible et la consommation très dépendante des importations. iForwood est un projet d’innovation ayant pour objectif une meilleure valorisation des produits forestiers. Sa finalité est de contribuer à l’augmentation de la rentabilité des ressources forestières et à une meilleure compétitivité et productivité des entreprises de la filière bois des Pyrénées à travers la coopération en matière de R&D. Les objectifs sont : - Former et informer les professionnels du secteur ; forestiers et prescripteurs du milieu du bois en nouveaux outils, formules de commercialisation, produits du bois et ses applications. - Incorporer de nouveaux outils, techniques et méthodologies pour l’approvisionnement forestier et la vente de bois dans les Pyrénées. - Améliorer et innover dans les procédés de transformation et commercialisation des produits de la sylviculture pyrénéenne. Le projet est structuré en 5 actions: 0. Préparation du projet. 1. Gestion du projet. 2. Activités de communication. 3. Développement de nouveaux instruments pour la connaissance des ressources forestières des Pyrénées et pour améliorer la mobilisation et la vente de bois. 4. Projets pilotes innovants dans la transformation du bois pour la valorisation des produits de bois des Pyrénées.

Description (EN):

Most of the forest area within the Pyrenees has steep slopes and poor infrastructure. This situation handicaps the profitability of the forestry works. The business on the sector is low and the consumption depends much on the imports. iForWood is an innovative project that has the aim to increase the value of the forest products. Its purpose is to help to increase the profitability of the forest works, the improvement of the competitiveness and the productivity of the Pyrenean sawmills. This will be done through cooperation on R+D+i. The specific objectives are: - To train and to inform the professionals, foresters and wood technicians on new tools, marketing formulas, wood products and their applications. - To incorporate new tools, techniques and methods on the forest works and also on the selling of timber of the Pyrenees. - To improve and innovate on the transformation and commercialization processes of the Pyrenean wood products. The project is divided into 5 actions: 0. Draft preparation. 1. Project management. 2. Communication activities. 3. Development of new instruments related to the knowledge of the forest resources of the Pyrenees to improve the mobilization of timber and the selling of wood. 4. Innovative pilot projects in wood processing for increasing the value of the wood products from the Pyrenees.
