The Blue Move for Green Economy project aims to put hydrogen on the map of environmentally friendly fuels. That’s why three countries are working together to increase fuel awareness. The starting point for the project is to protect our environment. Hydrogen fuel cell cars are so-called zero-emission vehicles that can contribute to a fossil-independent vehicle fleet. But the road there is still a long way. “We need to increase the know-how of hydrogen as an energy carrier, but also to a greater extent include hydrogen in the discussions when talking about better and environmentally friendly fuels,” says Linda Nilsson, Project Manager for the Blue Move for Green Economy and Hydrogen Sweden. Linda Nilsson sees two possible scenarios ahead of her for hydrogen vehicles. Either you wait for a development, or you do what the project wants and speed up the processes. — Instead of waiting for the technology to be fully developed and the industry mature, and catching up on the hydrogen wave only then, we look to ar regions and municipalities can be involved from the start. Then we can also make sure to build knowledge and develop hydrogen as a strong business area. Creating trust in the industry: The project sees many companies in Scandinavia who are skilled in the production or distribution of fuel. The actors want to help. For example, they will develop and disseminate knowledge about business models for both production and distribution and use of hydrogen. The goal is to get operators to establish refuelling stations and develop transport solutions for the fuel and its vehicles. To succeed in this, they must first investigate the industry and review the regulations and incentives that exist. Our work will increase trust in the industry so that more people dare to invest. We want to facilitate and support so that we avoid a situation where everyone is waiting for each other before anyone dares to invest, instead, the players should trust that there will be refuelling stations, customers and infrastructures so that they also dare to invest. Networking: When the project is completed, Linda Nilsson anticipates that the demand for hydrogen vehicles has increased and that there is a plan for how hydrogen production and distribution can work. The project wants to involve more private actors and create more collaborations. They also hope that their network has grown. We work in the networks we have, but we always have to be open to bringing in more interesting organisations. In order to succeed with the project, it is also important that we join internationally, as this is a small industry, we are very dependent on the development that is taking place in other countries. Important to exchange of experience: To get there, countries need to learn from each other. As an example, Linda Nilsson mentions that Norwegian Akershus is one of the leading regions in Europe in applying and using hydrogen, while Denmark is about to become one of the first countries to have a nationwide hydrogen network. Sweden is still working to get hydrogen into the discussion about environmentally friendly transport. Countries have simply come different distances and can help each other where knowledge is lacking. Three voices are stronger than one. — The political aspect also weighs heavily in the project, since regulations and instruments are not in place in a longer perspective, it is an important issue where we can help each other in what has worked and has not worked. We really hope to move forward the positions on the issue," says Linda Nilsson.

Projektet The Blue Move for Green Economy vill sätta vätgas på kartan för miljövänliga drivmedel. Därför samarbetar tre länder för att öka kunskaperna om bränslet. Utgångspunkten för projektet handlar om att värna om vår miljö. Bränslecellsbilar som drivs med vätgas är så kallade nollutsläppsfordon som kan bidra till en fossiloberoende fordonsflotta. Men vägen dit är fortfarande lång. – Vi behöver öka kunnandet om vätgas som energibärare, men också till högre grad få med vätgas i diskussionerna när man pratar om bättre och miljövänliga bränslen, säger Linda Nilsson, projektledare för the Blue Move for Green Economy och Vätgas Sverige. Linda Nilsson ser två möjliga scenarior framför sig för vätgasfordon. Antingen väntar man in en utveckling, eller gör man som projektet vill och skyndar på processerna. – I stället för att vänta på att tekniken är färdigutvecklad och branschen är mogen, och haka på vätgasvågen först då, ser vi till arr regioner och kommuner kan vara med från början. Då kan vi också se till att bygga kunskap och utveckla vätgas som ett starkt affärsområde. Skapar tillit i branschen: Projektet ser många företag i Skandinavien som är duktiga på produktion eller distribution av drivmedel. Dem aktörerna vill de hjälpa. Därför ska de exempelvis utveckla och sprida kunskap om affärsmodeller för såväl produktion som distribution och användning av vätgas. Målet är att få aktörer att etablera tankstationer samt utveckla transportlösningar för bränslet och dess fordon. För att lyckas med detta ska de först utreda branschen och granska de regelverk och incitament som finns. – Vårt arbete ska öka tilliten i branschen så att fler vågar satsa. Vi vill underlätta och stötta så att vi slipper en situation där alla väntar på varandra innan någon vågar satsa, istället ska aktörerna lita på att det kommer tankstationer, kunder och infrastrukturer så att de också vågar satsa. Nätverksbyggande: När projektet är klart ser Linda Nilsson framför sig att efterfrågan på vätgasfordon har ökat och att det finns en plan för hur produktion och distribution av vätgas kan fungera. Projektet vill få med fler privata aktörer och skapa fler samarbeten. Likaså hoppas de att deras nätverk har vuxit. – Vi arbetar i de nätverk som vi har, men vi måste hela tiden vara öppna för att ta in fler intressanta organisationer. För att lyckas med projektet är det också viktigt att vi är med internationellt, eftersom det här är en liten bransch är vi väldigt beroende av den utveckling som sker i andra länder. Viktigt med erfarenhetsutbyte: För att nå dit behöver länderna lära av varandra. Som exempel nämner Linda Nilsson att norska Akershus en av de ledande regionerna i Europa på att tillämpa och använda vätgas, medan Danmark är på väg att bli ett av de första länderna att ha ett rikstäckande nätverk för vätgas. I Sverige arbetar man fortfarande för att få in vätgas i diskussionen om miljövänlig transport. Länderna har helt enkelt kommit olika långt och kan hjälpa varandra där kunskap saknas. Dessutom är tre röster starkare än en. – Den politiska aspekten väger också tungt i projektet, eftersom regelverk och styrmedel inte finns på plats i ett längre perspektiv så är det en viktig fråga där vi kan hjälpa varandra i vad som har fungerat och inte har fungerat. Vi hoppas verkligen flytta fram positionerna i frågan, säger Linda Nilsson.
