Achievements (DE):

ArchaeoMontan 2018 war ein internationales Projekt, das sich der Erforschung des mittelalterlichen Bergbaus im sächsisch-böhmischen Erzgebirge widmete. Es war Teil des durch die Europäische Kommission aus dem Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung geförderten Kooperationsprogramms der grenzübergreifenden Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Freistaat Sachsen und der Tschechischen Republik 2014 bis 2020. Im Projekt arbeiteten Archäologen, Historiker, Vermessungsingenieure, Geologen und Informatiker beiderseits der Grenze an der Dokumentation und Interpretation der mittelalterlichen Bergbauspuren. Hierbei flossen die bereits im Rahmen des vorangegangenen Ziel 3-Projektes ArchaeoMontan 2012 bis 2015 gewonnenen Ergebnisse ein. Projektinhalte waren neben der Forschung unter Tage insbesondere Untersuchungen zu Spuren der Arbeit und Umwelt mittelalterlicher Bergleute auf tschechischer Seite. Dazu gehörten sowohl Fragen der Aufbereitung, Verarbeitung und des Handels gewonnener Erze als auch die Rekonstruktion der Veränderung der Umwelt in dieser mittelalterlichen Landschaft. Die Partner arbeiteten die Ergebnisse in Tagungen, Workshops, Vorträgen und Publikationen auf. Um die Erkenntnisse zum gemeinsamen mittelalterlichen Kulturerbe dauerhaft für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen, gab das Projekt wichtige inhaltliche Impulse für die Gestaltung des in Dippoldiswalde geplanten "Zentrums für den mittelalterlichen Bergbau im Erzgebirge". Die Abschlusskonferenz zum Projekt am 23. August 2018 diente dazu, das „MiBERZ – Museum für mittelalterlichen Bergbau im Erzgebirge Dippoldiswalde“ feierlich zu eröffnen.

Achievements (EN):

ArchaeoMontan 2018 was an international project dedicated to the exploration of medieval mining in the Saxon-Bohemian Erzgebirge. It was part of the cooperation programme of cross-border cooperation between the Free State of Saxony and the Czech Republic, supported by the European Commission from the European Regional Development Fund, from 2014 to 2020. In the project, archaeologists, historians, surveyors, geologists and computer scientists on both sides of the border worked on the documentation and interpretation of medieval mining tracks. The results already obtained under the previous Objective 3 project ArchaeoMontan 2012 to 2015. In addition to underground research, project contents were in particular studies on traces of work and environment of medieval miners on the Czech side. These included questions of the processing, processing and trade of ores obtained as well as the reconstruction of the change in the environment in this medieval landscape. The partners worked on the results in conferences, workshops, lectures and publications. In order to make the findings on the common medieval cultural heritage permanently accessible to the public, the project provided important impetus for the design of the “Centre for Medieval Mining in the Ore Mountains” planned in Dippoldiswalde. The final conference on the project on 23 August 2018 served to open the “MiBERZ — Museum of Medieval Mining in the Dippoldiswalde Erzgebirge”.
