Description (EN): extension and attractiveness of the network of routes of the existing “Karlova Trail” by about 50 km, increasing the total length to about 110 km; the creation of four secondary routes; targeted, comprehensive work with the public; ensuring the long-term maintenance of the “Karlov Trail”.

Description (DE): Ausweitung und Attraktivierung des Streckennetzes der bestehenden „Karlsroute“ um ca. 50 km, Erhöhung der Gesamtlänge auf ca. 110 km; Entstehung von 4 Nebenrouten; gezielte um-fängliche Öffentlichkeitsarbeit; Sicherung des langfristigen Erhalts der „Karlsroute“.

Description (CS): rozšíření a zatraktivnění sítě tras stávající „Karlovy stezky“ o cca 50 km, zvýšení celkové délky na cca 110 km; vznik 4 vedlejších tras; cílená obsáhlá práce s veřejností; zajištění dlouhodo-bého udržování „Karlovy stezky“.

Achievements (EN):

Do you think it is not possible to prepare and implement a project with 12 cooperation partners? Yes, yes! If everyone pulls together, it also succeeds... As part of the “Karlsroute I” project (2012-2015)*, the cross-border tourist cycle route “Karlsroute” was established between the cities of Karlovy Vary and Aue by four project partners. Thanks to the “Karlsroute II” the main route from Aue via Hartenstein and Oelsnitz/Erzgeb. to Chemnitz is extended by about 50 km, so that the total length of the “Karlsroute” is increased to about 110 km. The route guidance takes into account existing cycling routes listed in the SachsenNetz Rad. In order to achieve an even wider cyclist development of the border area and more enthusiastic cyclists, the following four additional routes are identified: “Round Eibenstock valley barrier” (approx. 30 km). (D/Eibenstock — Schönheide — Support green — Eibenstock). “Porcelain route” (approx. 45 km). (CZ/Nová Role — Chodov — Loket — Karlovy Vary — Nová Role). “Iron Route” (approx. 6 km). (CZ/Pernink — Horní Blatná). “Wistritz Route” (approx. 29 km). (CZ/Abertamy — Lípa — Merklín — Hroznětín — Děpoltovice — Nová Role). This creates an additional attractive offer for day and overnight guests, thus increasing the length of stay and added value in the region. In addition, the possibilities of connecting bicycles and trains along the Chemnitz — Aue — Johanngeorgenstadt — Nejdek — Nová Role — Karlovy Vary railways are further expanded. In order to market the “Karlsroute” as a cycling product well, the existing website is expanded, information flyers as well as a folding map are created and a cycling route app and a cycling route guide “Karlsroute” are developed. All information materials are executed in three languages (DE/CZ/EN). In addition, local information events inform the general public and tourism operators on both sides of the border about the “Karlsroute” and its potential. Finally, an inter-municipal agreement will be drawn up for the longer-term preservation of the “Karlsroute”. Denken Sie, dass es nicht möglich ist, ein Projekt mit 12 Kooperationspartnern vorzubereiten und umzusetzen? Doch! Wenn alle an einem Strang ziehen, gelingt auch das … Bereits im Rahmen des Projektes „Karlsroute I“ (2012-2015)* wurde zwischen den Städten Karlovy Vary und Aue von vier Projektpartnern die grenzübergreifende touristische Radroute „Karlsroute“ errichtet. Nach der erfolgreichen Umsetzung dieses Projektes und der sehr großen, positiven Resonanz wurde das Nachfolgeprojekt „Karlsroute II“ erarbeitet. Dank der „Karlsroute II“ wird die Hauptroute ab Aue über Hartenstein und Oelsnitz/Erzgeb. bis nach Chemnitz um ca. 50 km verlängert, sodass sich die Gesamtlänge der „Karlsroute“ auf ca. 110 km erhöht. Bei der Routenführung werden bestehende bzw. im SachsenNetz Rad aufgeführte Radrouten berücksichtigt. Um eine noch breitere radtouristische Erschließung des Grenzraumes und mehr begeisterte Radfahrer zu erreichen, werden folgende weitere vier Nebenrouten ausgewiesen: „Talsperrenrunde Eibenstock“ (ca. 30 km). (D / Abertamy – Lípa – Merklín – Hroznětín – Děpoltovice – Nová Role). Dadurch wird ein zusätzliches attraktives Angebot für Tages- und Übernachtungsgäste geschaffen und so die Verweildauer und Wertschöpfung in der Region erhöht. Zusätzlich werden die Möglichkeiten der Verknüpfung zwischen Rad und Bahn entlang der Bahnstrecken Chemnitz – Aue – Johanngeorgenstadt – Nejdek – Nová Role – Karlovy Vary weiter ausgebaut. Um die „Karlsroute“ als radtouristisches Produkt gut zu vermarkten, wird die bestehende Website erweitert, Info-Flyer sowie eine Faltkarte werden erstellt und eine Radrouten-App sowie ein Radroutenführer „Karlsroute“ entwickelt. Alle Infomaterialien werden dreisprachig (DE/CZ/EN) ausgeführt. Ergänzend werden bei lokalen Infoveranstaltungen die allgemeine Öffentlichkeit sowie Tourismusakteure beiderseits der Grenze über die „Karlsroute“ und ihre Potenziale informiert. Abschließend wird zur längerfristigen Erhaltung der „Karlsroute“ eine entsprechende interkommunale Vereinbarung erarbeitet.
