Description (EN):

The project aims to improve waste management and pollution prevention in the CB area improves knowledge related to the negative impact from improper waste collection, consequences to the environment and human life. The ambitious work programme of the project represents an integrated approach in the field of education as well as in community driven actions for removal of illegal dump sites and pollution prevention. This approach will be realized through the development of various tools (Joint Training Programme WasteEDU, EduBook “Lifecycle of waste”, mapping software and a web-portal) which could be utilized in the process of primary education of children, and promoted in the frame of various capacity building, training (Joint Green Schools and Camps) and networking events (Discussion forum and a Conference) that will be implemented during the action. The target groups that will be involved in the project are school students, primary schools, NGOs, branch associations and other organizations that support environmental and youth activities, SMEs working in the field of waste management, regional and local authorities. As a result of the project, target groups will be provided with various tools for raising awareness and fostering direct involvement and participation of young people in environmental protection campaigns. In addition, project partners through various promotional and awareness raising activities will strive to increase the involvement of young people in solving issues related to waste reducing, recycling and prevention, as well as their knowledge on the benefits of reducing, recycling and properly managing waste.

Проектот има за цел да се подобри управувањето со отпадот и спречување на загадувањето во прекуграничната област , подобрувајќи ги знаењата во врска со негативното влијание од несоодветно управување со отпадот, последици за животната средина и животот. Амбициозна програма за работа на проектот претставува интегриран пристап во областа на образованието, како и управувачки акции во заедницата за отстранување на нелегалните депонии и спречување на загадувањето. Овој пристап ќе се реализира преку развој на различните алатки (Заедничката програма за обука WasteEDU, EduBook "Животен циклус на отпад", мапирање на софтвер и веб-портал), кој може да се користи во процесот на основното образование на децата и да се промовира во рамките на: различни градења на капацитетите, обука (Заеднички Зелени училишта и кампови) и настани за вмрежување (Форум за дискусија и Конференција) кои ќе се реализираат во текот на проектот. Целните групи кои ќе бидат вклучени во проектот се: ученици, училиштата, невладини организации, здруженија и други организации кои поддржуваат еколошки иницијативи и иницијативи за младите, мали и средни претпријатија кои работат во областа на управувањето со отпадот, регионални и локални власти. Како резултат на проектот, целните групи ќе бидат обезбедени со различни алатки за подигање на свеста и поттикнување на директна вклученост и учество на младите луѓе во кампањи за заштита на животната средина. Покрај тоа, партнерите на проектот преку разни промотивни активности и активности за подигнување на свеста ќе се залагаат за зголемување на учеството на младите во решавањето на проблемите поврзани со намалување на отпадот, рециклирање и превенција, како и нивното знаење за придобивките од намалување, рециклирање и правилно управување со отпадот.

Description (BG):

Целта на проекта е да се подобри управлението на отпадъците и превенцията за замърсяването в трансграничния район повишавайки познанията свързани с отрицателното въздействие от неправилното сметосъбиране и последствията за околната среда и човека. Амбициозната цел на проекта е да представи интегриран подход в областта на образованието, както и да предизвика заинтересованост и действия у общноството за отстраняването на незаконните сметища, да повиши превенцията и да предотврати замърсяването на прородата. Този подход ще се реализира чрез разработването на различни инструменти (Съвместна програма за обучение WasteEDU, EduBook "Lifecycle of waste", софтуер за картографиране и уеб-портал), които могат да бъдат използвани в процеса на обучението в началното образование на децата, и за насърчаване в рамката на различни инициативи за изграждане на капацитет и обучения (съвместни зелени училища и лагери), свързани събития (Дискусионни форуми и конференции), които ще се изпълнява по време на изпълнението на проекта. Целевите групи, които ще бъдат включени в проекта са ученици от началните училища, неправителствени организации, браншови асоциации и други организации, които подкрепят дейности свързани с опазването на околната среда и други младежки дейности, малки и средни предприятия работещи в областта на управлението на отпадъците, регионалните и местните власти. В резултат на проекта, целевите групи ще бъдат снабдени с различни инструменти за повишаване на осведомеността и насърчаване на прякото участие на младите хора в кампании свързани с опазването на околната среда. В допълнение партньорите по проекта чрез различни дейности и инициативи за повишаване на осведомеността ще се стремят да увеличат участието на младите хора в разрешаването на въпросите свързани с намаляването на отпадъците и тяхното рециклиране, както и на техните познания в тази сфера, както и за ползите от рециклирането и правилно управление на отпадъците.

Achievements (EN):

The overall impact of the project was focused on the common CB area of Bulgaria (Blagoevgrad District, BG413) and Macedonia (South-east Planning Region, MK004). The project concept was developed through a joint needs and opportunities assessment of the cross-border region. The action addressed common issues and deficiencies related to waste management education and awareness about waste selection and recycling in educational institutions of both sides of the border. Another key aspect of the project was targeted towards raising the environmental awareness of young people (student). Several joint networking events were organised where a representative of the primary target groups of the CB area had the opportunity to network and discuss common issues and prospects related to environmental protection, waste management and prevention. The project contributed to the overall raising of awareness on topics such as environmental protection, waste prevention and recycling among young people of the common cross-border region of both countries. On this basis, the project fostered their active participation on issues related to environmental protection. As a result of the successful project implementation various innovative and useful tools were developed for raising the environmental awareness and for preventing waste in the common cross-border region of Bulgaria and Macedonia. The following primary benefits of project implementation could be summarised as follows: - Extensive information and promotional campaign carried out among educational institutions in the cross-border region in Bulgaria and Macedonia; - Increased interest among young people on issues related to recycling, reduction and prevention of waste; - Improved awareness and knowledge of young people on issues concerning environmental protection, waste prevention and recycling; - Fostered the mindset and direct involvement and engagement of young people in ecological campaigns; - Encourage the exchange of experience and best practices between stakeholders to raise awareness of environmental protection in the cross-border region of Bulgaria and Macedonia.
