Description (EN): On the territory of the project partners – Municipality of Rankovce and Municipality of Bobov dol is identified a common problem – frequent floods are seen caused by sectors in bad conditions of Goreshtitsa river in Bobov dol and Golem Dol in Rankovce causing problems and damage to the population of both municipalities. The current project proposes a common approach for tackling with the issue – similar investment measures on the riverbeds in both municipalities and conduct of awareness-raising campaigns among children after elaboration of a Joint strategy and methodology for environmental protection and flood prevention.
The main project result are: implemented construction works on Golem Dol in municipality of Rankovce - Phase 1 from km 0+000.00 to km 0+441.46, implemented measures for flood risk prevention and raised security from floods in municipality of Rankovce; implemented construction works on the shores of Goreshtitsa river – performed cleaning of the bed of Goreshtitsa river and placing of retaining walls, implemented measures for flood risk prevention and raised security from floods in municipality of Rankovce; elaborated trilingual Joint strategy and methodology for environmental protection and flood prevention (in English, Macedonian and Bulgarian language) and
conducted awareness-raising campaigns among children in schools in Rankovce and Bobov dol.
The project can be further developed in subsequent projects for prevention of flood risks in other parts of the rivers, also with different initiatives part of the municipals’ policies for prevention of other types of disasters – fires, earthquakes, etc.
Read more Description (MK): На територијата на партнерите во проектот - општина Ранковце и општина Бобов Дол е идентификуван заеднички проблем - честите поплави на реката Горештица во Бобов Дол и Голем Дол во Ранковце во лоши временски услови, предизвикуваат проблеми и штети за населението на двете општини. Со проектот се предлага заеднички пристап за справување со ова прашање - слични инвестициски мерки на речните корита во општините и спроведување на кампањи за подигање на свеста кај децата согласно изработена заедничка стратегија и методологија за заштита на животната средина и за заштита од поплави.
Главниот резултат од проектот е: спроведување градежни работи на Голем Дол во општина Ранковце - Фаза 1 од км 0 + 000.00 до км 0 + 441,46, спроведување мерки за заштита од ризик од поплави и зголемена безбедност од поплавите во општина Ранковце; спроведување градежни работи на бреговите на реката Горештица - чистење на коритото на реката Горештица и поставување на потпорни ѕидови, спроведување мерки за заштита од ризик од поплави и зголемена безбедност од поплави во општината; подготовка на тријазична заедничка стратегија и методологија за заштита на животната средина и за заштита од поплави (на англиски, македонски и бугарски јазик) и кампањи за подигање на свеста кај децата во училиштата во Ранковце и Бобов дол.
Проектот може понатаму да се развива во последователни проекти за спречување на ризикот од поплави во другите делови од реките, а исто така, и преку различни иницијативи од општинските политики за спречување на други видови на катастрофи - пожари, земјотреси, итн.
Read more Description (BG): На територията на партньорите по проекта - Община Ранковце и Община Бобов дол е идентифициран общ проблем, а именно: чести наводнения, причинени от лошото състояние на коритата на р. „Горещица“, Бобов дол и р. „Голем дол“, Ранковце, които водят до проблеми и щети в прилежащите им територии и на населението на двете общини. Настоящият проект предлага общ подход за справяне с проблема - аналогични инвестиционни мерки по коритата на реките в двете общини, разработване на съвместна стратегия и методология за опазване на околната среда и предотвратяване на наводнения и провеждане на информационни кампании за повишаване на осведомеността сред децата.
Основните резултати на проекта са: изпълнени строително-монтажни работи за корекция на коритото на р. „Голем дол“ в община Ранковце - Фаза 1 от км 0 + 000.00 до км 0 + 441.46, изпълнени мерки за предотвратяване на риска от наводнения и повишаване сигурността на речната инфраструктурата при наводнения в община Ранковце; изпълнени строително-монтажни работи по бреговете на р. „Горещица“ в община Бобов дол - прочистване на коритото на реката, изграждане на подпорни стени, изпълнени мерки за предотвратяване на риска от наводнения и повишена сигурност при наводнения в община Бобов дол; разработване на триезичната съвместна методология и Стратегия за опазване на околната среда и предотвратяване на наводнения (на английски, македонски и български език) и провеждане на кампании за повишаване на осведомеността сред децата в училищата в общините Ранковце и Бобов дол.
Проектът може да бъде надграден с последващи съвместни проекти за превенция на риска от наводнения в други части на реките, и различни инициативи, свързани с отговорностите на общините и обществеността за предотвратяване на други видове бедствени и аварйни ситуации - пожари, земетресения, и т.н.
Read more Achievements (EN): The project is in full correspondence with the following Programme specific objective: Priority Axis 1: “Environment”, specific objective 1.2 “Prevention and mitigation of consequences of natural and man-caused disasters of cross-border dimension and impact”. The project will lead to the achievement of the aim through support of small-scale interventions such as sanitation of river banks and building flood defence (dikes, canals etc.) in municipality of Bobov dol and municipality of Rankovce.
The project specific objectives are as follows:
- Prevention of flood risk in municipality of Rankovce and municipality of Bobov dol.
- Subsequent mitigation of consequences of natural disasters in the cross-border region.
- Increase of the security against natural disasters in the cross-border region.
The current project proposal can be further developed in subsequent projects for prevention of flood risks in other parts of the rivers tackled in the project – Goreshtitsa river in municipality of Bobov dol and Golem Dol in municipality of Rankovce. The project can be further developed also with different initiatives part of the municipals’ policies for prevention of other types of disasters – fires, earthquakes, etc. The awareness-raising campaigns for flood prevention set in the current project could be the basis for future organization and holding of bigger informational campaigns for wider audiences for prevention of risks of different disasters. According to the Bulgarian Law on Waters, article 19, paragraph 1, item 1, public municipal property are water and water bodies, including natural springs, lakes and marshes, where they are located on lands - municipal property which means that any other future interventions on the rivers in the territory of the municipality, as a continuation of the current project, will be implemented by the municipal administration.
