Description (EN):

The project overall objective is to improve the accessibility to natural heritage in the municipalities of Kyustendil and Konche in order to utilize the potential of these resources for development of tourism from both side of the border region. Project activities includes: establishment transport and pedestrian access to natural landmark “Polska Skakavitsa Waterfall’’ – reconstruction of municipal rural road, eco trails and areas for rest and observation - Municipality of Kyustendil and installation of urban equipment and for touristic settlement Mantovo, launching of eco trails and areas for rest and observation - Municipality of Konche; conduction of thematic workshops "Appropriate bihaviour with the clients" and “Sustainable use of nature and culture for tourism development”; development of comprehensive study and presenting of the nature potentials for tourism development in Municipality of Kyustendil; presentation of the cultural and natural touristic potentials of Municipality of Konche; presentation of local tradition by local artists from both municipalities - music performances and exhibitions; organization of forums on "Partnering in tourism development" in both municipalities. Favourable natural and environmental characteristics of the border area provide opportunities for sustainable development of different forms of tourism serve for development subsequent projects on both sides.

Главната цел на проектот е да се подобри достапноста на зачуваното природно наследство и вредности во општините Ќустендил и Конче, со цел да се искористи потенцијалот на овие еколошки ресурси за балансиран развој на туризмот од двете страни на границата. Проектните активности вклучуваат: подобрување на автомобилскиот достап и паркирање во близина на зоната на природната атракција и подобрување на пешачката достапност до водопадот "Полска Скакавица'' - преку реконструкција на општинскиот рурален пат, изградба на еко патеки и места за одмор и набљудување во Општина Ќустендил и изградба на еколошка туристичка зона преку поставување на урбана опрема за туристичката населба "Мантово'' преку изградба на еко патеки и места за одмор и набљудување во Општина Конче; спроведување на тематски работилници "Соодветно однесување со клиентите" и "Одржливо користење на природата и културата за развој на туризмот"; развој на сеопфатна студија и презентирање на природните потенцијали за развој на туризмот во Општина Ќустендил; презентација на културните и природните туристички потенцијали на Општина Конче; презентација на локалната традиција од страна на локални уметници од двете општини - преку организирање на настапи и изложби; организирање на форуми за "Партнерство во развојот на туризмот" во двете општини. Поволните природни и еколошки карактеристики на подрачјето на прекуграничниот регион, нудат можности за одржлив развој на различни форми на туризам кои ке служат за развој на следните проекти на двете страни.

Главната цел на проекта е да се подобри достъпността до съхраненото природно наследство и природни ценности в общините Кюстендил и Конче, да насърчи устойчивото използване на потенциала на екологичните ресурси за балансирано развитие на туризма от двете страни на границата на трансграничния регион. Дейностите по проекта включват: подобряване на автомобилния достъп и паркиране в сравнителна близост до прилежащата зоната на природната забележителност и както и подобряване на пешеходната достъпност до водопад „Полска Скакавица'' - чрез оптимизиране на техническите параметри на общинския път, изграждане на екологични пътеки и зони за рекреация и наблюдение - за територията на община Кюстендил; изграждане на екологична туристическа зона за отдих и рекреация – „Мантово“, чрез обособяване на екологични пътеки и поставяне на елементи на парковия дизайн в природната среда – за територията на община Конче; провеждане на тематични семинари с представители на заинтересованите страни по проекта - "Подходящо отношение към посетителите" и "Устойчиво използване на природата и културата за развитието на туризма"; извършване на задълбочено проучване за представяне на природния потенциал за развитие на туризма в община Кюстендил; представяне на културния и природен туристически потенциал на община Конче; представяне на местните художествени традиции и изтъкнати хора на изкуството от двете общини, чрез провеждане на представления и изложби; организиране на форуми на тема "Партньорство в областта на развитието на туризма" в двете общини. Благоприятните екологични характеристики на околната среда в граничната зона осигуряват възможности за устойчиво развитие на различни форми на туризъм и реализация на следващи съвместни проекти.

Achievements (EN):

The project implementation extended and strengthened the cross-border cooperation building a sense among the citizens of the targeted area about the values of their natural heritage as a tool for development of tourism. The cross-border impact is obvious with the developed joint awareness of the cross-border population for the need of nature protection, preservation and reconstruction of valuable natural resources and landscape as well as on protection and popularization of the values of the tradition of the area. Comparing to the CBC impact described in the application, the implemented project activities widened the cross-border cooperation through elaboration of common project promotion products and materials – a common trilingual website including information about the both partner municipalities, their reconstructed and improved for tourist use natural sites – Polska Skakvitsa Waterfall and Mantovo Lake Tourist Settlement and their natural landscapes promoting the possibilities for natural and cultural tourism in both regions; trilingual project brochures, multimedia DVDs, bilingual leaflets, posters, postcards, etc. All these products and their distribution act as a common cross-border tourist offer. For the project visibility and publicity a common project logo is elaborated branding all the project outcomes. It strengthens the visibility and publicity of the cross-border impact too.

One covered by protection actions cultural and historical site in Kyustendil municipality under Activity 3 – the “St. Dimitar” church from the Bulgarian Revival period is situated in immediate closeness to the Polska Skakavitsa Waterfall Natural Landmark whose improved approach benefits the approach to the church and its protection as a cultural monument. Length of new or reconstructed or upgraded access roads to natural, cultural and historic tourism sites, cycling routes and walking paths;1414.00;Construction of new access - local road and Rehabilitation of municipal field (dirt) road-length 724.00 m., width 1.50 m. and Rehabilitation of municipal rural road- length of 690.00 m., width of 3.50 m. to Polska Skakavitsa Waterfall Natural Landmark and the “St. Dimitar” church nearby under Activity 3. Verification: acceptance report/protocol, pictures. Number of newly built or reconstructed or upgraded tourist related facilities and attractions;2.00;Upgraded tourist related facilities and attractions with temporary objects and urban equipment in the Polska Skakavitsa Waterfall Natural Landmark and in the Sunny Lake Mantovo Touristic Settlement under Activity 3 and Activity 4 respectfully. Verification: acceptance reports/protocols, pictures.
