The overall objective of project “Development of common cultural tourism destination in the Strandzha (Yildiz)/Sakar area based on archaeological and historical objects” with ref. No CB005.1.22.166 was to increase the tourism potential of Strandzha and Sakar mountain area covering the whole cross-border area by developing common destinations – themed touristic routes. Specific objectives of the project were to raise the awareness of general public for archaeological heritage of Sakar and Strandzha; to encourage sustainable tourism through complete study and promotion of the Sakar and Strandzha heritage, to establish new partnership in CB area and the most important goal was to provide to the local population of the area and visitors the chance to feel the magic of mysterious Sakar and Strandzha mountains. For those purposes, five thematic tourism routes were developed within the project, each of which presents the riches and mysteries of these lands from past times – from the Late Antiquity until the Megalithic culture in the region. Specifically, the developed themed tourist routes are: 1. Strandzha and Sakar through the Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages; 2. Strandzha during the Roman age; 3. The Astess kingdom; 4. The Odrysian kingdom; 5. Megalithic culture in Strandzha and Sakar.
To achieve the effective increasing the tourism potential of Strandzha and Sakar mountain area a joint strategy for development of cultural tourism was elaborated and presented in front of stakeholders in Bourgas and Kirklareli. Project partners participated in 2 tourism fairs – events, giving the chance for good marketing and promotion of the cultural tourism riches. Furthermore, many tools were developed within the project for promotion of the developed themed routes and the target area – pocket guide, containing photos and information on the most significant cultural sites in the cross-border area; tourism maps with all developed themed routes; website, containing whole information concerning project itself and its results; advertising movie showing the riches in the region, as well a promotional materials as burn on disk the developed strategy; informational leaflets; branded pens, eco-bags, etc. During the project implementation period two press conferences were also conducted in Bourgas.
For every one interested about the magic in the Sakar and Strandzha area, a photo exhibition with ones of the most beautiful and mysterious sites can be visited in the building of educational center in h.e. “Zornitsa”, town of Bourgas, Bulgaria.

Общата цел на проект "Развитие на обща дестинация за културен туризъм в района на Странджа (Йълдъз)/Сакар на база археологически и исторически обекти" с реф. № CB005.1.22.166, бе да увеличи туристическия потенциал на планинските райони Странджа и Сакар, обхващащи цялата трансгранична зона, чрез развитие на общи дестинации - тематични туристически маршрути. Специфични цели на проекта бяха повишаване на осведомеността на широката общественост за археологическото наследство на Сакар и Странджа; насърчаване на устойчивият туризъм, чрез пълно проучване и популяризиране на наследството на Сакар и Странджа, установяване на ново партньорство в транс граничният район и най-важната цел - да се предостави на местното население на района и посетителите възможност да усетят магията на загадъчните Сакар и Странджа планини. За целта в рамките на проекта бяха разработени пет тематични маршрута за туризъм, всеки от които представя богатството и мистериите на тези земи от минали времена - от късната античност до мегалитната култура в региона. По-конкретно развитите тематични туристически маршрути са: 1. Странджа и Сакар през късноантичната и средновековието; 2. Странджа през римската епоха; 3. Астейското царство; 4. Одриското царство; 5. Мегалитна култура в Странджа и Сакар.
За да се постигне ефективно увеличаване на туристическия потенциал на планинския район Странджа и Сакар, бе разработена и представена съвместна стратегия за развитие на културния туризъм пред заинтересованите страни в Бургас и Къркларели. Партньорите по проекта участваха в две туристически борси - събития, които дават шанс за добър маркетинг и популяризиране на богатството на културния туризъм. Освен това бяха разработени много инструменти в рамките на проекта за популяризиране на разработените тематични маршрути и целевата област - джобно ръководство, съдържащо снимки и информация за най-значимите културни обекти в трансграничния регион; туристически карти с всички тематични маршрути; уебсайт, съдържащ цялата информация относно самия проект и неговите резултати; рекламен филм, показващ богатството в региона, както и промоционални материали, като диск с разработената стратегия; информационни брошури; брандирани писалки, еко-чанти и др. През периода на изпълнение на проекта бяха проведени и две пресконференции в Бургас.
Всеки, който се интересува от магията в района на Сакар и Странджа, може да посети фотоизложба с едни от най-красивите и загадъчни места в сградата на учебния център в ж.к. "Зорница", гр. Бургас, България.
