The UNESCO Geopark Karawanken has a rich geodiversity. In the Geopark area, 48 Geosites and 14 other Geopark features have been registered. Geopoints or also commonly called Geosites, are geol. and geomorphologically interesting points or areas in nature. They also have archaeological, historical, botanical, zoological, cultural or technical significance. Most Geopoints are accessible via hiking trails but have so far been inadequately made accessible and staged. The aim of the project is to establish an overall strategy for valorisation, visualization, and enhancement of the awareness of the rich geodiversity of the geopark. In order to achieve this goal, the project partners are planning the joint development and equipping of a long-distance journey around the Geopark Karawanken. Through this offer, a substantial increase in the awareness of geodiversity and biodiversity is achieved. The individual stages are analyzed and staged separately according to the local focus points and combined as a whole product. On the way, smaller interpreting modules - for different target groups - and various programs and offers are set up. Attractive access situations and a uniform guidance system are created over the entire course of the long-distance route. For the imparting of the geodiversity as well as the other cultural and natural peculiarities of the path, trained guides are required, which are trained through well-founded professional basics within the framework of their own Geoparktraining to the cross-border peculiarities. All key informations are conveyed with adequate information products. Additionaly special group offers are developed, especially for schools in the form of Geopark Adventure Camps. The entire product is set up as part of the organizational form of the Geopark Karawanken with its partners as a separate Geodiversity-management-tool. All activities are carried out in the program area in both languages.

UNESCO Geopark Karavanke se ponaša z bogato geodiverziteto. Do sedaj je registriranih 48 geo znamenitosti in 14 znamenitosti Geoparka. Geo znamenitosti ali splošno imenovane Geosites so geološko in geomorfološko pomembne in zanimive točke ali območja v naravi, ki lahko imajo poleg geološkega in geomorfološkega pomena tudi arheološki, zgodovinski, botanični, zoološki, kulturni ali tehnični pomen. Večina teh točk je dostopnih preko pohodniških poti, vendar niso primerno predstavljene in dostopne. Cilj projekta je zastaviti in uveljaviti celovito strategije za valorizacijo, ponazoritev in izboljšanje zavedanja o bogati geodiverziteti Geoparka. Da bi ta cilj lahko dosegli, načrtujemo projektni partnerji skupen razvoj in opremo daljinske geo-pohodniške poti okrog Geoparka Karavanke. Ta bo omogočila znatno izboljšanje ozaveščenosti o geo- in biodiverziteti. Posamezne etape, ki bodo pripravljene in predstavljene glede na lokalne vsebinske posebnosti, bodo združene v daljinsko pohodniško pot kot skupen produkt. Na in ob poti bodo urejeni majhni interpretacijski moduli - za različne ciljne skupine- ter različni programi in ponudbe. Ustvarjene bodo atraktivne izhodiščne točke in enoten sistem vodenja, ki bodo omogočili daljinsko pohodniško pot. Za posredovanje geodiverzitete kot tudi ostalih kulturnih in naravnih posebnosti na poti, so potrebni usposobljeni vodniki, ki jih bomo usposobili v okviru lastnega Geopark izobraževanja o čezmejnih posebnostih na podlagi dobro pripravljenih strokovnih podlag. Vse ključne informacije bodo posredovane z ustreznimi informacijskimi orodji. Dodatno bomo razvili posebne skupinske ponudbe, predvsem za šole v obliki Geopark doživljajskih kampov. Celoten produkt bo organiziran v okviru organizacijske oblike Geoparka Karavanke z njegovimi partnerji kot lastno upravljavsko orodje geodiverzitete. Vse aktivnosti se bodo izvajale v programskem območju v obeh jezikih.

UNESCO Geopark Karawanken verfügt über eine reiche Geodiversität. Im Geoparkgebiet sind bisher 48 Geopunkte (GP) und 14 weitere Geopark Besonderheiten registriert worden. GP oder auch allgemein Geosites genannt, sind geol. und geomorphologisch interessante Punkte oder Gebiete in der Natur, die häufig auch archäologische, geschichtliche, botanische, zool., kulturelle oder technische Bedeutung haben. Die meisten GP sind via Wanderwege erreichbar werden aber bisher unzureichend zugänglich gemacht und inszeniert. Projektziel ist es, eine Gesamtstrategie zur Valorisierung, Sichtbarmachung, Steigerung des Bewusstseins der reichen Geodiversität des Geoparks, zu etablieren. Zur Zielerreichung planen die Projektpartner die gemeinsame Entwicklung und Ausstattung eines Weitwanderweges rund um den Geopark Karawanken. Durch dieses Angebot wird eine wesentliche Steigerung des Bewusstseins zur Geo- und Biodiversität erzielt. Die einzelnen Etappen werden nach lokalen Schwerpunkten gesondert inhaltlich aufbereitet, inszeniert und zum Weitwanderweg als Gesamtprodukt zusammengeführt. Am Weg werden kleinere Interpretationsmodule für verschiedene Zielgruppen und diverse Programme und Angebote eingerichtet. Geschaffen werden attraktive Zutrittssituationen und ein einheitliches Leitsystem über den gesamten Verlauf des Weitwanderweges. Für die Vermittlung der Geodiversität und kulturellen und natürlichen Besonderheiten am Weg sind ausgebildete Guides erforderlich, welche durch fundierte Grundlagen in einer eigenen Geoparkausbildung geschult werden. Alle Schlüsselinformationen werden mit adäquaten Informationsprodukten vermittelt. Zusätzlich werden spezielle Gruppenangebote, vor allem für Schulen als GeoparkErlebnisCamps entwickelt. Das Gesamtprodukt wird im Rahmen der Organisationsform des Geoparks Karawanken mit seinen Partnern als eigenes Geodiversitätsmanagmenttool eingerichtet. Alle Aktivitäten werden im Programmgebiet im beiden Sprachen durchgeführt.

- Zagotavljanje celovite ponudbe storitev za aktivno geo doživetje v obliki skupnega pohodniškega turističnega produkta regije, ki bo temeljila na enotnih standardih kakovosti; - Uskladitev in upravljanje geo in biodiverzitete preko skupnega produkta, pohodniških poti in doživljajsko raziskovalnih točk; - izboljšana ozaveščenost ciljnih skupin o pomenu geološke, naravne in kulturne dediščine ter njenih potencialih za trajnostni razvoj; - z ureditvijo geo-pohodniške poti in doživljajsko raziskovalnih točk bo obisk usmerjen na manj ranljiva območja narave; - skozi razvoj na dediščini ter zgodbah temelječega turističnega produkta bo povečana atraktivnost območja; - z izvedbo podpornih in drugih aktivnosti destinacijskega managementa bo izboljšana prepoznavnost območja; - obogatena bo javna turistična infrastruktura za doživljanje narave; - izboljšani bodo indikatorji turistične uspešnosti, med katerimi je eden ključni programski rezultat - število nočitev.

- Gewährleistung von vollständigem Dienstleistungsangebot für ein aktives Geoerlebnis, in Form von gemeinsamen Wandertourismusprodukten der Region, die auf einheitlichen Qualitätsstandards basieren werden; - Ausrichtung und Verwaltung der Geo- und Biodiversität durch ein gemeinsames Produkt, von Wanderwegen und von Erlebnisforschungspunkten wird errichtet; - Verbessertes Bewusstsein der Zielgruppen über die Bedeutung des Erdgeschichts-, Natur- und Kulturerbes und seiner Potentiale für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung; - Mit der Regelung des Wanderweges und der Erlebnisforschungspunkte wird der Besuch auf wenige sensible Naturgebiete konzentriert; - Durch die Entwicklung des auf Erbe und auf Sagen basierenden Tourismusproduktes wird die Attraktivität des Gebietes gesteigert; - Mit der Durchführung von unterstützenden und anderen Aktivitäten des Zielmanagements wird die Sichtbarkeit der Region verbessert - Die Tourismusinfrastruktur werden bereichert und die Übernachtungszahlen gesteigert.
