Die Entwicklung einer internationalen Musterfabrik Industrie 4.0 (i4Production) ist ein Teilprojekt des IBH-Lab KMUdigital. Das IBH-Lab KMUdigital ist ein Forschungs- und Innovationsnetzwerk von Hochschulen und Praxispartnern aus der Wirtschaft, in dem interdisziplinär anwendungsorientierte Lösungen für die digitale Transformation kleiner und mittlerer Unternehmen (KMU) erarbeitet werden. Das Teilprojekt i4Production hat das Ziel, die Produktion von KMU in der Bodenseeregion zukunftssicher, effizient und produktiv zu gestalten. Hierfür wird eine international vernetze Prozesslandkarte 4.0 auf Basis dreier Modellfabriken in drei Ländern entwickelt. In dem Teilprojekt i4Production wird eine international vernetzte Prozesslandkarte 4.0 auf Basis dreier Modellfabriken in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz entwickelt und simuliert. In einem gemeinsamen, standardisierten Automatisierungskonzept wird ein cyber-physisches System (CPS) in Form eines Modellfahrzeuges produziert, das durch den Kunden in diversen Varianten zusammengestellt oder individuell konstruiert werden kann. Die digitale Prozesskette soll bei Vertretern regionaler KMU ein Verständnis für die sich ergebenden Chancen und Risiken wecken. Das Forschungsprojekt zeigt, welche Maßnahmen auf die Unternehmen zukommen, um die Produktion zukunftssicher, effizient und produktiv zu gestalten und den Industrie 4.0-Ansprüchen gerecht zu werden.

Description (EN):

The development of an international model factory for Industry 4.0 (i4Production) is a sub-project of the IBH-Lab KMUdigital. The IBH-Lab KMUdigital is a research and innovation network of universities and practice partners from business, in which interdisciplinary application-orientated solutions for the digital transformation of small and medium companies (SMEs) are worked out. The i4Production sub-project has the aim of making production in the Lake Constance region more future-assured, efficient and productive among SMEs. An internationally networked 4.0 process map based on three model factories in three countries will be developed for this. In the i4Production sub-project, an internationally networked 4.0 process map, based on three model factories in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, will be developed and simulated. In a joint standardised automation concept, a cyber-physical system (CPS) in the form of a model vehicle will be produced, which can be put together or individually constructed in diverse versions by the customer. The aim of the digital process chain is to evoke understanding of the opportunities and risks among representatives of regional SMEs. The research project shows which measures will encourage the companies to make production future-assured, efficient, productive and in line with Industry 4.0 requirements.

Achievements (DE):

Ziel ist die Entwicklung und Simulation einer vernetzten Prozesslandkarte 4.0 – d.h. ein Business-Eco-System – im Bodenseeraum auf Basis dreier Modellfabriken in drei Ländern. Dazu müssen Daten aus intelligenter Produktion und Logistik in dieser beispielhaften grenzüberschreitenden Lieferkette in ein Datenökosystem der Industrie 4.0 integriert werden. Die digitale Prozesskette soll einerseits hinsichtlich der Ausbildung junger Studierender und Berufstätiger zur Entwicklung neuer Prozessabläufe und Geschäftsmodelle dienen, andererseits bei Vertretern von regionalen KMU Verständnis für die sich ergebende Chancen und Risiken wecken und sie wissenschaftlich begleiten und fördern. In einem gemeinsamen, standardisierten Automatisierungskonzept wird in der international vernetzten Modellfabrik ein cyber-physisches System in Form eines kundenindividualisierten Modellfahrzeuges produziert, das durch den Kunden in diversen Varianten zusammengestellt oder individuell konstruiert werden kann. Das fernsteuerbare und kommunikationsfähige Modellauto dient dabei als Beispielprodukt für eine verteilte Produktion. In der Schweiz an der NTB Buchs werden Elektronikkomponenten gefertigt, in Österreich an der Fachhochschule Vorarlberg werden Felgen in einer reduzierenden Fertigung hergestellt und in Deutschland an der HTWG Konstanz erfolgt die Endmontage. Die Zulieferkomponenten kommen dabei entweder physisch zur HTWG oder werden direkt von den Projektpartnern an die Rapid-Prototyping-Möglichkeiten der HTWG gesendet. Die Endmontage und Synchronisation der Haupt- und Nebenmaterialflüsse erfolgt an der HTWG Konstanz. Dabei wird jedes Einzelteil, von der Elektronikkomponente über benötigtes Rohmaterial für die Reifen bis hin zum Chassis des Modellautos als digitaler Zwilling rechentechnisch logisch abgebildet. Die Einzelteile werden hierfür mit den etwaigen benötigten Produkt- und Prozessdaten, sowie Sensordaten der involvierten Maschinen und Fertigungsstationen ausgestattet. Somit kann eine Verschmelzung von Produktions- und Prozesssicht erwirkt werden, welche eine ganzheitliche Betrachtung des Datenaustausches zum Ziel hat. Der digitale Zwilling steht dabei immer im Mittelpunkt. Eingangsportal in die internationale Musterfabrik ist eine virtuelle Online-Umgebung des Business-Eco-Systems. Ein Kunde kann in diesem Eingangsportal zur internationalen Musterfabrik online sein Fahrzeug in diversen Varianten zusammenstellen aber auch Teile wie die Felgen völlig individuell konstruieren. Das Resultat kann vom Kunden online virtuell betrachtet und mit einem verbindlichen Liefertermin bestellt werden. Vor der Bestellfreigabe werden die Daten durch eine automatische Festigkeitssimulation der NTB Buchs überprüft. D.h. es wird geprüft, ob die kundenindividuelle Konstruktion den Anforderungen wie Festigkeit, Dimensionen u.ä. gerecht wird. Auch kann hier eine Design-Überprüfung durchgeführt werden als Schnittstelle zu den anderen kmu-Digital-Projekten. Dies könnte z.B. eine schutzrechtliche oder allgemeine designrechtliche Überprüfung sein. Die internationale Musterfabrik bildet damit eine dezentrale Produktion. Die Grenzen der Globalisierung und Information verschwimmen aber zusätzlich durch eine dezentrale Konstruktion, Übermittlung von Daten und einer physischen – und zeitkorrekten - Produktion einer Komponente an dem Ort, an dem diese benötigt wird. Dank der im Projekt erarbeiteten Erkenntnisse liegt jetzt ein validiertes Konzept einer Musterfabrik vor, welches zusätzlich zur realen Fabrik die Möglichkeiten der Digitalisierung effizient integriert. Dieses Konzept steht auch nach Projektende in Form der neu aufgebauten Plattform „Werkstatt4“ bei RhySearch öffentlich zur Verfügung und wird mit interessierten Partnern weiter aufgebaut.

The aim is to develop and simulate a networked process map 4.0 — i.e. a business eco-system — in the Lake Constance area based on three model factories in three countries. In a common, standardised automation concept, the internationally networked model factory produces a cyber-physical system in the form of a customer-specific model vehicle, which can be assembled or individually designed by the customer in various variants. The remote controllable and communication-capable model car serves as an example product for distributed production. In Switzerland at NTB Buchs, electronic components are manufactured, in Austria at the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences rims are manufactured in a reducing production and in Germany the final assembly takes place at the HTWG Konstanz. The subcontracting components either come physically to the HTWG or are sent directly by the project partners to the rapid prototyping possibilities of the HTWG. The final assembly and synchronisation of the main and secondary material flows takes place at the HTWG Konstanz. Every single part, from the electronic component to the required raw material for the tires to the chassis of the model car, is logically represented as a digital twin. The individual parts are equipped with the necessary product and process data, as well as sensor data of the machines and production stations involved. Thus, a fusion of production and process views can be achieved, which aims at a holistic view of the data exchange. The digital twin is always the focus. Entrance portal to the international sample factory is a virtual online environment of the business eco system. In this entry portal to the international model factory, a customer can assemble his vehicle in various variants online, but also design parts such as the rims completely individually. The result can be virtually viewed by the customer online and ordered with a binding delivery date. Before order approval, the data is checked by an automatic strength simulation of the NTB Buchs. This means that it is checked whether the customer-specific design meets the requirements such as strength, dimensions, etc. A design review can also be carried out here as an interface to the other kmu digital projects. This could be, for example, a protective or general design review. The international model factory thus forms decentralised production. However, the boundaries of globalisation and information are also blurred by a decentralised construction, transmission of data and a physical — and time-correct — production of a component in the place where it is needed. Thanks to the findings developed in the project, a validated concept of a sample factory is now available, which, in addition to the real factory, efficiently integrates the possibilities of digitisation. This concept is also publicly available after the end of the project in the form of the newly built platform “Werkstatt4” at RhySearch and will be further developed with interested partners.

Das Forschungsprojekt erarbeitet ein Konzept, dass aufzeigt, wie eine Prozesslandschaft zukunftsfähig, effizient und produktiv gestaltet werden kann. Dies kann als Dienstleistung auf die betroffenen Unternehmen übertragen werden. Das Business-Eco-System, die Demonstrationszentren und die Vorstellung der Ergebnisse in einer Road Show ermöglichen eine Wissensvermittlung bzw. ein Bildungsangebot in Form von videobasierten Lerneinheiten und festigt gleichzeitig die Zusammenarbeit mit Unternehmen.
