The foaming of the River Rába caused a serious problem in the area of Szentgotthárd around the millennium. To eliminate this, projects and measures have been implemented at Austrian and Hungarian territories (Rába Action Program, OPENWEHR). Since measures impact the whole catchment area of the River Rába, jointly implemented survey is necessary.The following goals have been set for the project: with jointly implemented monitoring it will be evaluated, how the realized investments affect the condition of the Rába on its entire length, on the other hand it examines the surface water bodies’ compliance to the good state specified in the river basin management plans approved in Austria and Hungary, furthermore it makes proposals in regards of further possible measures to reach and maintain the good state.The main result of the project partly is identifying the present pollution load and ecological state of the River Rába, both on the Hungarian and Austrian site, on the other hand it evaluates the effects of the measures taken so far, which could serve as a basis for bilateral measures. The project primarily supports the working of organisations operating according to the water convention between the two countries, and the working of water authorities, as well as serving valuable information for the population living across the Rába, making chemical and ecological water conditions of their environment visible for them.

"Schaum auf der Raab“ war um die Jahrtausendwende ein großes Problem im Raum Szentgotthárd. Zur Beseitigung dieses Problems wurden auf österreichischer und ungarischer Seite zahlreiche Projekte und Maßnahmen verwirklicht (Aktionsprogramm Raab, OPENWEHR). Die Maßnahmen wirken sich auf den gesamten Fließbereich der Raab aus, weswegen eine gemeinsame Durchführung der Untersuchungen notwendig ist. Das Projekt hat sich folgende Ziele gesetzt: mit einem gemeinsamen Monitoring soll ausgewertet werden, welche Auswirkungen die Maßnahmen auf den ganzen Flusslauf der Raab haben; zudem soll untersucht werden, ob die Oberflächengewässer dem guten Zustand entsprechen - welcher in den "Einzugsgebiet-Bewirtschaftungsplänen" von Österreich und Ungarn festgelegt ist. Darüber hinaus werden weitere mögliche Maßnahmen zur Erreichung und Aufrechterhaltung des guten Zustandes vorgeschlagen. Hauptergebnis des Projektes sind die Erfassung der derzeitigen Schadstoffbelastung und des ökologischen Zustandes der Raab auf der österreichischen und auf der ungarischen Seite, sowie die Beurteilung der Auswirkungen bisheriger Maßnahmen. Dies könnte als Basis für weitere mögliche bilateral abgestimmte Maßnahmen dienen. Das Projekt unterstützt in erster Linie die Organisationen die entsprechend dem Abkommen über Wasserwesen zusammenarbeiten, sowie die Arbeit der Behörden, die für Wasserschutz verantwortlich sind. Dadurch bekommt auch die Bevölkerung, die neben der Raab wohnhaft ist, wertvolle Informationen und es wird der chemische und ökologische Zustand in ihrer Umgebung ersichtlich.

A Rába habzása komoly problémát jelentett Szentgotthárd térségében az ezredforduló körül. Ennek megszüntetése érdekében osztrák és magyar területen projektek és intézkedések kerültek végrehajtásra (Rába Akcióprogram, OPENWEHR). Mivel az intézkedések a Rába egész vízgyűjtő-területére hatással vannak, ezért a vizsgálatok együttes végrehajtása szükséges. A projekt a következők célokat tűzte ki magának : közös monitoring végrehajtásával kiértékelésre kerül, milyen hatással vannak a megvalósult beavatkozások a Rába állapotára a folyó teljes hosszán, másrészt vizsgálja a felszíni víztestek Ausztriában és Magyarországon jóváhagyott vízgyűjtő-gazdálkodási tervekben meghatározott jó állapotnak való megfelelését és javaslatokat tesz további lehetséges intézkedésekre vonatkozóan a jó állapot eléréséhez, illetve megtartásához. A projekt fő eredménye egyrészt a Rába jelenlegi szennyezőanyag terhelésének és ökológiai állapotának rögzítése, mind a magyar, mind az osztrák oldalon, másrészt az eddigi intézkedések hatásait értékeli, ami további kétoldalú intézkedési lehetőségek alapjául szolgálhat. A projekt elsősorban a két ország közötti vízügyi egyezmény szerint működő szervek, valamint a vízvédelemért felelős hatóságok munkavégzését támogatja, valamint értékes információval szolgál a Rába mentén élő lakosság számára, láthatóvá teszi a környezetükben lévő kémiai és ökológiai vízállapotokat.

Expected Outputs (DE): Gemeinsam abgestimmte und formulierte Maßnahmen für eine gute wasserwirtschaftliche Praxis, um den guten ökologischen Zustand der Raab erhalten und den sehr guten ökologischen Zustand erreichen zu können.

Expected Outputs (HU): Közösen megfogalmazott, egyeztetett intézkedések a közös jó vízgazdálkodási gyakorlathoz a Rába jó ökológiai állapotának megőrzése, ill. nagyon jó ökológiai állapotának elérése érdekében
