Shapetourism améliore la connaissance touristique, en offrant analyses et outils opérationnels, en mesure d’identifier une méthodologie intégrée capable de façonner et de stimuler une croissance durable du tourisme. Il aide décideurs politiques et opérateurs privés à atteindre: attractivité, croissance et durabilité de l’industrie du tourisme, en tenant compte de la concurrence mondiale. En capitalisant sur les études scientifiques et sur les instruments de destinations management, le projet tend vers l’équilibre entre l’attractivité, la compétitivité et la durabilité pour stimuler le développement du tourisme avec une approche intégrée, globale et opérationnelle. Le projet fournit: 1) un système intelligent avec les information e les recommandations pour l’améliorer dès l’attractivité du patrimoine et la compétitivité des scénarios; 2) solutions et plans pour garantir l’utilise durable du patrimoine territorial, en équilibrant les conflits entre la conservation des valeurs culturelles et la pression touristique, on trouver les réponses au cycle de vie des destinations; 3) système d’aide participatif pour créer synergies efficaces et mécanismes de coopération permettant une gestion côtière et maritime responsable. Shapetourism comble certaines lacunes structurelles en offrant: Big Data; une sondage inexplorée; une analyse de l’écosystème commercial; un DSS misant sur les possibilités/risques présents du secteur touristique en lançant un développement concret de GIZC/PSM.

Description (EN):

Shapetourism improves the tourism knowledge framework, providing analysis and operational tools to pinpoint an integrated methodology to shape and drive tourism sustainable growth, particularly for Cultural Destinations.It supports policymakers and private operators to achieve: attractiveness, growth and sustainability, taking into account the major challenges of global competition. Starting from the capitalization of scientific studies and from tourism established patterns, the project gears towards the balance between divergent public and private interests with the final scope to drive tourism development to an holistic, highly operational and sustainable approach. Project provides: 1) Smart Tourism Data System, to arrange recommendations and scenarios, to improve attractiveness and competitiveness of territorial assets. 2) Planning Solutions to tackle territorial assets sustainable exploitation, while balancing conflicts between landscape conservation and tourism growth pressures and tailoring responses to destinations life cycle. 3) ShapeTourism Protocol based on a Participative decisional support system able to create effective synergies and cooperation mechanisms for a responsible coastal and maritime integrated management. Actually, SHAPETOURISM enables to fill up some structural gaps providing: open-data/BigData processing; new sample survey; business ecosystem analysis; DSS leveraging on opportunities/facing risks and providing tools to develope ICZM and MSP.

Achievements (EN):

During this period partners designed the definitive architecture of the Output O1 - Smart Integrated Tourism Data System (SITDS), integrating the Observatory (act 3.1) and outcomes of the transnational sample survey (act. 3.2).The sample survey covered a wide range of MED regions. All the partners contributed reaching through a on line questionnaire more than 9,000 stakeholders across a all the Med regions.We then developed diverse econometric models in order to provide quantitative evidence of the most statistically levers and completed the first version of the 3.3 deliverables: “carrying capacities” and “analysis of the highest risk in terms of sustainability”. Those studies allowed us to arrange the basis for a Sustainable Med destinations development focused on cultural assets and to provide planning solutions capable to tackle territorial assets exploitation while balancing internal conflicts in tourism destinations. In this horizon the main challenge has been todevelop an “integral operational framework” combining the quantitative method with qualitative approach able to integrate the complexity of sustainability in the tourism arena. Applying the Socio Economic Approach to Management (SEAM) modle developed by Saval, we identify the main challenges or dysfunctions currently faced by the existing tourism model, in order to then propose the basis for an Internal and External Strategic Actions Plan to boost a sustainable tourism model in the Med area, focused on cultural assets.During this period we have also completed the 3.4 planning and policies surveys: we gathered and analysed additional good practices and projects that have integrated the Maritime spatial planning and Integrated Coastal zone management with the management of coastal tourism destinations and cultural Heritage sites. So we consider reached also the O2 “set of tools to manage conflicts and externalities”Furthermore, we developed the act 3.5 finalizing the DPRS cluster matrix of MED regions and worked onthe SEM model proposed.We met once at Divaca (SLO) where we share project advancement and found a common approach to both O1 and O2, and discussed the methodological approach to O3 and 04. During this period LP and AICCRE met to operatively start the realization of the 05.Furthermore the project website has been opened and updated; poster and brochure produced to support project activities and dissemination.A dissemination event has been held in Venice on 7th November 2017.
