Description (EN):

Chebec - Hacking the Mediterranean economy through the Creative and Cultural Sector sector is a 30 months project (Module 2) that gathers 10 full and 5 associate partners from France, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain and from the Balkans - Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. Chebec approach takes inspiration from the fastest boats of the XVIII century used by traders, but also corsairs and pirates fore xplore, exchange, connect and reinvigorate the MED economy. Chebec tackles CCI main challenge in the Mediterranean: support CCIs access to new markets while keeping their own identity, with the final aim to favor MED clusters attractiveness for creative people. Chebec will experiment an integrated support program for companies and professionals, developing international competences and contacts. The program will include training, consultancy, mobility actions, matching events and an innovation voucher scheme to concretely favour transregional collaborations. Competence building activities will be realised also for policy makers and support organisations to improve the effectiveness of their actions. Outputs will be analysed and transferred at regional levels matching S3 priorities, to ensure Chebec findings last in the long run. Partners are organizations coming from MED regions with relevant CCI clusters, with integrated profiles - public authorities, intermediary organizations, Universities and NGOs - wide experience, solid relations with their regional players and EU networks.

Chebec - Piratons l'économie méditerranéenne grace à la créativité et la culture - est un projet de 30 mois (module 2) rassemblant 10 et 5 partenaires associés de France, Italie, Malte, du Portugal, d'Espagne et des Balkans. L'approche Chebec s'inspire du bateau le plus rapide du XVIIIème utilisé par les commerçants et les corsaires pour échanger, relier et revigorer l'économie MED. Chebec s'attaque au défi majeur des ICC en Méditerranée: aider les ICC à accéder à de nouveaux marchés tout en gardant leur propre identité, dans le but final de soutenir les régions MED à rester attrayantes. Chebec expérimentera un programme de soutien pour entreprises et professionnels, développant des compétences et des contacts internationaux, qui comprendra des actions de formation, de conseil, de mobilité, des événements d'appariement et un système de « innovation vouchers » pour favoriser concrètement les collaborations transrégionales. Des activités de renforcement des compétences viseront également les décideurs et organisations de soutien pour améliorer l'efficacité de leurs actions. Les résultats seront analysés et transférés au niveau régional afin de s'assurer que les résultats de Chebec durent à long terme dans la zone MED et au delà. Les partenaires sont des organisations avec des profils intégrés - autorités publiques, organisations intermédiaires, universités et ONG ayant une grande expérience, de solides relations dans leurs territoires et les réseaux nationaux et européens.

Achievements (EN):

The RP started with a networking event involving both partners and beneficiaries: Marseille mobility action.Throughout the semester Partners continued collaborating through the consolidated modus operandi developed in the previous RPs, which have been useful to face the challenges arisen. Flexibility and ad hoc tools were necessary to begin the procedures to request a budget modification and figure out the adjustments of activities in light of the advent of COVID 19.A SCM held in Marseille enabled partners to reflect on the project improvement: the evaluations presented by UVEG indicated the need for the consortium to be dynamic and adapt the methods tested to the peculiarities of CCIs. Partners discussed the option of increasing the sum dedicated to innovation vouchers (I.V) to have greater impacts.The partnership organized an additional technical meeting in Rome: partners took the chance to present the beneficiaries selected for the I.V. scheme in their region and solve challenges and doubts related to their implementation.Partners have been active as far as communication and dissemination are concerned, at a regional, national and international level. The consortium was involved in initiatives organized by the Interreg MED programme and Social & Creative community.AMI participated in the MED for YOU event in Athens. Also, Teatro Ebasko, a beneficiary organization from the Emilia-Romagna was invited to perform at the closing night with a play on the relevance of the European Union.ART-ER attended TALIA’s Mediterranean Forum of Creativity & Social Innovation: the video of the community - featuring a few partners and beneficiaries of the Chebec project - was launched.Other on and offline initiatives were organized by partners locally.Activities developed in the framework of the pilot action continued with different schedules in all regions. In September 2019, beneficiaries had the chance to network during Marseille matchmaking initiative, which was important to build relations in view of the innovation voucher scheme.
