CreativeWear (CW) revitalise le textile et habillement (T&C) à travers une nouvelle attention à la créativité, design personnalisé et le production artisanale pour les chaînes de valeur territorialement spécifiques dans les modèles d'affaires axés sur la clientèle. CW étend le projet en cours H2020-TCBL, qui complète l'innovation techno-industrielle avec le sociale pour revenir à 5% de la capacité Europeénne et une réduction de 20% de l'impact environnemental d'ici à 2025, à des cluster créatives dans l'espace MED, leur intégration dans l'écosystème TCBL. CreativeWear vise de récupérer et valoriser le patrimoine de connaissance de T&C dans les cultures méditerranéennes (MED-Texmedin) et d'apporter nouvelle énergie pour les clusters T&C en renforçant leur capacité d'innovation basée sur la créativité et l'intégration en les chaînes de valeur transnationales émergentes (CreativeMED). CreativeWear teste l'adaptation du modèle de réseau TCBL (qui combine des Labs design, make et place avec les pilotes commerciaux dans des modèles d'affaires innovants) aux clusters créatifs existants, tels que les musées, centres de créativité, écoles de mode, centres de conception, d'organisations bénévoles, etc. CW se déroule M15-M42 du projet TCBL (48 mois), parfaitement aligner les essais et le développement des approches complémentaires. Le modèle CW transférable permet ainsi une plus grande cohérence avec les politiques FEDER et FSE dans les différents contextes nationaux et régionaux.

CreativeWear revitalizes the crisis-ridden Textile & Clothing (T&C) sector through a new attention to creativity, personalised design, and artisan and small-scale production for territorially specific value chains in customer-driven business models. CreativeWear extends the on-going H2020 TCBL project (which complements techno-industrial with social innovation to return 5% of capacity to Europe and attain a 20% reduction in environmental impact by 2025) to creative clusters in the MED space, integrating them into the broader TCBL ecosystem. CreativeWear aims both to recover and valorise the design heritage and tacit “making” knowledge of T&C in Mediterranean cultures (MED-Texmedin) and to bring new energy to creative T&C clusters by reinforcing their creativity-based innovation capacity and integrating their activity into emergent transnational value chains (CreativeMED). CreativeWear tests adaptation of the TCBL network model (which couples Design, Making, and Place Labs with Business Pilots in innovative value chain scenarios) to existing creative clusters such as museums, creative hubs, fashion schools, design centres, volunteer organisations, etc. Testing in CreativeWear unfolds across months 15-42 of the 48-month H2020-TCBL project, perfectly aligning the development of the complementary approaches. The transferrable CreativeWear model thus allows for greater coherence with ERDF and ESF policy frameworks in different national and regional contexts.

Achievements (EN):

During the 4th semester partners were involved in the implementation of phase 2 of the pilot and transferring activities with the aim to strengthen the network among Hubs and consolidate the CreativeWear transnational cluster and its integration into the Europe-wide TCBL ecosystem . This was done through the organisation of common events, the development of collaborative projects and the exchange of services for SMEs and creatives. The 2nd call for new hubs was closed at the end of July, and in September four new hubs joined the Creative Wear network: 1) The Awareness Hub - Teksmer Technical Textiles Research and Development Center (Turkey); 2) The Sustainability Hub - Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto (Piemonte – Italy); 3) The Training Hub - Social cooperative Humana Nova Čakovec (Croatia) and 4) The Innovation Hub - ESTIA – Bidart (Nouvelle Aquitaine / Euskadi / Navarra - France). Project partners developed several collaboration projects and organised one networking event in Palermo, the VESTINO 2018 Festival. Collaborative projects among hubs included crossed creative residences and the exchange of services between hubs, the development of common artistic projects to valorise the textile heritage, the prototypation of design and fashion items, and the development of traceability protocols for cotton. The VESTINO 2018 event engaged over 60 artists and creatives belonging to the project’s creative communities in events all over the city of Palermo (IT) during several days, from the 18th to the 22nd of October 2018. An exhibition of the hubs’ works and prototypes, as well as joint workshops and interactive sessions were organised within the event. Designers, artists, textile companies and research laboratories from the creative communities of Valencia, Ljubljana, Athens and Prato presented fabrics, capsule collections, clothing items, creative prints, design objects, artistic creations and cutting-edge technological processes to the public, to show how creativity can lead to innovative applications for the European T&C sector and the Mediterranean area.
