Description (PL): Projekt ma na celu wypracowanie polsko-niemieckiego pomysłu na zagospodarowanie turystyczne lasów. Góry po obu stronach granicy posiadają wiele obiektów, do których dostęp jest ograniczony, np. z powodu uszkodzeń podczas powodzi lub uległy zniszczeniu z powodu wieloletnich zaniedbań wywołanych np. strefą nadgraniczną (wieże widokowe, stare tory bobslejowe). Ich odbudowanie lub ocalenie od zapomnienia doprowadzi do kanalizacji ruchu turystycznego, a tym samym do ochrony miejsc o cennych walorach przyrodniczych (rezerwatów przyrody, stref ochronnych zwierząt) i świadomego korzystania z lasów. Wypracowana zostanie wspólna oferta edukacyjna i promocyjna. Zastosowane na ścieżkach rozwiązania będą innowacyjne i w znaczący sposób wpłyną na atrakcyjność regionu.
Read more Description (EN): The project is to develop a Polish-German idea how to make tourist use of forests. The mountains on either side of the border feature numerous facilities/objects, access to which is limited, e.g. due to flood damage or destruction following long-term negligence due to e.g. border zone (observation towers, old bobsleigh tracks). Rebuilding them and saving them from oblivion will channel tourist traffic and, thus, will protect places having precious natural features (nature reserves, wildlife protection zones) and will enable mindful usage of forests. A joint educational and promotional offer will be developed. The solutions used on paths will be innovative and will considerably affect the region's attractiveness.
Read more Description (DE): Das Ziel des Projektes ist die Erarbeitung einer polnisch-deutschen Idee für die touristische Bewirtschaftung der Wälder. Im Gebirge beiderseits der Grenze gibt es viele Objekte, zu denen der Zugang eingeschränkt ist, np. aufgrund der Hochwasserbeschädigungen oder Zerstörung nach mehrjährigen Vernachlässigung aufgrund z.B. der Grenzlage (Aussichtstürme, alte Bobsleighbahn). Ihr Aufbau oder das Entreißen der Vergessenheit wird zur touristischen Besucherlenkung führen und gleichzeitig zum Schutz der Orte mit wertvollen Naturwerten (Naturschutzgebiete, Schutzzonen der Fauna) und zur bewussten Nutzung der Wälder. Es wird ein gemeinsames Bildungs- und Vermarktungsangebot erarbeitet. Die Lösungen, welche auf den Lehr- und Wanderpfaden angewendet werden, werden innovativ sein und in hohem Maße werden sie die Attraktivität der Region beeinflussen.
Read more Achievements (EN): The landscape of the German-Polish border area in the vicinity of the cities of Świeradów-Zdrój and Zittau characterise not only mountains, but also valuable forest areas, which for many years have ceased to be used for tourism and whose attractiveness for such use therefore decreased from year to year. The project “Adventures in the Mountains” therefore aimed to change this state and to rediscover the natural landscape for tourists.
The measures taken in the project followed a complex approach, which should be emphasised. They were directed at both the conceptual level, as well as the strengthening of infrastructure and marketing, addressing topics such as tourism, nature and forest formation and nature conservation. The implementation took place in the spirit of sustainable development in order to rebuild the destroyed and forgotten tourist infrastructure while at the same time ensuring the protection of particularly valuable natural and cultural areas.
The results of the project, which are particularly worth mentioning, include:
Reconstruction of the lookout tower on the Dresslerberg and a covered rest area near the former viewing platform on the Hasenstein,
Rehabilitation of flood-damaged “Goldbachweg” and “Bürgerallee” as well as improving the accessibility of the chalice stone by constructing parking areas and setting up recreational areas,
Construction of a hiking trail “Adventure in the mountains” along the old Bobbahn,
Publication of advertising and information materials (including accompanying booklets “Hiking guide” and “Adventure in the mountains”, PR videos, mobile app “Adventure in the mountains”)
Provision of new tourism offerings with elements of nature and forest formation, complemented by cultural offerings.
Due to the chosen complex access to the new development of valuable forest areas in the German-Polish border area, the project can be considered model. Among other things, it contributed not only to an increase in visitor numbers in these areas, but also to the increased attractiveness of the local natural and cultural areas.
Read more Achievements (DE): Das Landschaftsbild des deutsch-polnischen Grenzraums in der Umgebung der Städte Świeradów-Zdrój und Zittau prägen nicht nur Berge, sondern auch wertvolle Waldgebiete, die seit vielen Jahren nicht mehr touristisch genutzt werden und deren Attraktivität für eine solche Nutzung daher von Jahr zu Jahr abnahm. Das Projekt „Abenteuer im Gebirge“ setzte sich daher zum Ziel, diesen Zustand zu ändern und die Naturlandschaft erneut für Touristen zu erschließen.
Die im Rahmen des Projekts ergriffenen Maßnahmen verfolgten einen – was hervorzuheben ist – komplexen Ansatz. Sie waren sowohl auf die konzeptionelle Ebene, wie auch auf die Stärkung von Infrastruktur und Marketing gerichtet, wobei Themen wie Tourismus, Natur- und Waldbildung und Naturschutz aufgegriffen wurden. Die Umsetzung erfolgte im Geiste der nachhaltigen Entwicklung, um die zerstörte und in Vergessenheit geratene touristische Infrastruktur wiederaufzubauen und gleichzeitig den Schutz besonders wertvoller Natur- und Kulturräume zu gewährleisten.
Zu den Ergebnissen des Vorhabens, die besonders erwähnenswert sind, zählen:
Wiederaufbau des Aussichtsturms auf dem Dresslerberg sowie eines überdachten Rastplatzes bei der ehemaligen Aussichtsplattform auf dem Hasenstein,
Sanierung von hochwassergeschädigten „Goldbachweg“ und „Bürgerallee“ sowie Verbesserung der Zugänglichkeit des Kelchsteins mittels Bau von Parkflächen und Herrichtung von Erholungsplätzen,
Errichtung eines Wanderwegs „Abenteuer im Gebirge“ entlang der alten Bobbahn,
Herausgabe von Werbe- und Informationsmaterialien (u.a. Begleithefte „Wanderratgeber“ und „Abenteuer im Gebirge“, PR-Videos, mobile App „Abenteuer im Gebirge“)
Bereitstellung neuer Tourismusangebote mit Elementen der Natur- und Waldbildung, ergänzt um kulturelle Angebote.
Aufgrund des gewählten komplexen Zugangs zur erneuten Erschließung wertvoller Waldgebiete im deutsch-polnischen Grenzraum darf das Projekt als modellhaft gelten. Unter anderem deshalb trug es nicht nur entscheidend zu einem Anstieg der Besucherzahlen in diesen Gebieten, sondern ebenso zu einer gestiegenen Attraktivität der hiesigen Natur- und Kulturräume bei.
