Description (PL): Celem projektu REVIVAL! jest ożywienie i wzmocnienie centrów małych i średnich miast w obszarze wsparcia, a także zachowanie i rozwój dziedzictwa kulturowego. Miasta w obszarze wsparcia wykazują podobne potencjały oraz stoją przed podobnymi wyzwaniami w zakresie rozwoju historycznego, struktury miejskiej, rozwoju demograficznego i społeczno-ekonomicznego, potencjału architektury zabytkowej i turystyki, ale także słabości strukturalnych i zagrożeń dla kultury i jej zasobów. W miastach partnerskich działania z cyklu „Żywe śródmieście” ożywią historyczne centra miast. Dziesięć rodzajów działań pilotażowych posłuży utrzymaniu, rozwojowi i lepszej dostępności dziedzictwa kulturalnego, wniesie je do świadomości społecznej i czyni atrakcyjnymi dla turystów. Wystawa objazdowa zaprezentuje potencjał i sukcesy rewitalizacji centrów miast. Gra typu geocaching zachęci mieszkańców i turystów do wycieczek z uwzględnieniem dziedzictwa kulturalnego obszaru wsparcia.
Studia naukowe odnośnie jakości życia i jakości miast stworzą podstawę dla polityki miejskiej i regionalnej, z dodatkowym uwzględnieniem siły centrów miast oraz konieczności zachowania dziedzictwa kulturalnego. Szkoła jesienna dla studentów przyniesie dla regionu nowe i twórcze pomysły.
Read more Description (EN): The purpose of the REVIVAL! project is to revive and strengthen centres of small towns and medium-sized cities in the support area, and to preserve and develop cultural heritage. From the support perspective, the towns show similar capacities and are facing similar challenges within historical development, urban structure, demographic and socio-economic developments, historical architecture and tourism capacities, as well as structural weaknesses and threats to the culture and to its resources. In twin towns, actions such as “Live Inner City” will revive historic town centres. Ten types of pilot schemes will help to preserve, develop, and improve access to cultural heritage, will contribute it to social awareness and make it attractive for tourists. A touring exhibition will present the potential and successes of city centre revitalisation activities. Geocaching games will encourage the inhabitants and tourists alike to take sightseeing trips involving cultural heritage within the support area.
Scientific research studies concerning the quality of life and cities will constitute grounds for urban and regional politics, taking into account the city centre strengths and the need to preserve cultural heritage. The autumn school for students will bring more new and creative ideas to the region.
Read more Description (DE): Ziel des Projektes REVIVAL! ist es, die historischen Innenstädte der für das Fördergebiet charakteristischen Klein- und Mittelstädte zu beleben und zu stärken sowie deren Kulturerbe zu erhalten und zu entwickeln. In der historischen Entwicklung, der Stadtstruktur, der demographischen und sozioökonomischen Entwicklung, den baukulturellen und touristischen Potenzialen aber auch in der wirtschaftlichen Strukturschwäche und den drohenden funktionalen Verlusten weisen die Städte im Fördergebiet ähnliche Potenziale und Herausforderungen auf. In den Partnerstädten beleben die Aktionstage "Lebendige Innenstadt" die historischen Zentren und geben ihnen neue Aufmerksamkeit. Zehn Pilotmaßnahmen dienen dem Erhalt, der Entwicklung und der besseren Zugänglichkeit des kulturellen Erbes, bringen es ins Bewusstsein der Bevölkerung und machen es attraktiv für Touristen. Eine Wanderausstellung zeigt das Potenzial und die Erfolge der Revitalisierung der Innenstädte. Ein Geocaching-Spiel ermuntert die Bevölkerung und Touristen zu Erkundungstouren über das kulturelle Erbe des Fördergebietes. Eine wissenschaftliche Studie zur Lebensqualität und Urbanität bildet die Grundlage für eine Stadt- und Regionalpolitik mit größerer Aufmerksamkeit auf starke Innenstädte und für den Erhalt des kulturellen Erbes. Eine studentische Herbstschule bringt neue und kreative Ideen in die Region.
Read more Achievements (EN): The REVIVAL! project was implemented by 10 cities in Eastern Saxony and Southwest Poland as well as three scientific institutions. The joint development opportunities of cities should be explored, thereby contributing to their sustainable development as well as to the high quality of life in the German-Polish border region.
Each of the partner cities carried out pilot actions:
Bautzen created a strategy for the use of vacancies in the city centre, while Zittau created an urban development study on the design of public space in the historic city centre.
on the market square in Reichenbach OL. a historic fountain was revitalised and the equipment of the public event hall, the Via-Regia House, was optimised.
Under the motto “Görliwood”, Görlitz designed a number of previously unused shop windows in the city centre and connected to film productions that had been made in the city.
on the market square in Kamienna Góra, a series of events took place under the motto “Four Market Times”, which was linked to important holidays in the respective season.
Lubawka organised workshops on Silesian weavers in Chełmsko Śląskie.
in Lubomierz the city park was revitalised.
on the market square in Bolesławiec, seats made of ceramics were placed.
in Żary, part of the historic fortification was restored and an exhibition on the fortifications of the city was installed in the 16th century.
The partners also jointly organised a cross-border travelling exhibition, which they divided into the two areas “early and today” and “cultural heritage” and showed them in all partner cities from July to November 2020.
The scientists supporting the efforts of the partner cities carried out an analysis of the factors affecting the quality of life in the small and medium-sized cities of the Saxon-Polish border area, on the basis of which guidance and recommendations for the sustainable, sustainable and cross-border development of the urban landscape in the border area were presented.
Revival! was awarded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Home Affairs (BMI) in cooperation with the Ministry of Investment and Economic Development of the Republic of Poland as the flagship project of the Common Future Concept for the German-Polish Interconnection Area — Vision 2030.
Read more Achievements (DE): Das Projekt REVIVAL! wurde von 10 Städten in Ostsachsen und in Südwestpolen sowie drei wissenschaftlichen Einrichtungen umgesetzt. Es sollten die gemeinsamen Entwicklungschancen der Städte ergründet und damit ein Beitrag zu ihrer nachhaltigen Entwicklung wie ebenso zur hohen Lebensqualität in der deutsch-polnischen Grenzregion geleistet werden.
Jede der Partnerstädte führte jeweils Pilotmaßnahmen durch:
Bautzen erstellte eine Strategie zur Nutzung von Leerständen im Stadtzentrum, Zittau eine städtebauliche Studie zur Gestaltung des öffentlichen Raumes im historischen Stadtzentrum.
auf dem Marktplatz in Reichenbach OL. wurde ein historischer Brunnen revitalisiert und die Ausstattung des öffentlichen Veranstaltungshauses, des Via-Regia Hauses, optimiert.
Görlitz gestaltete unter dem Motto „Görliwood“ einige bislang ungenutzte Schaufenster in der Innenstadt und knüpfte hierbei an Filmproduktionen an, die in der Stadt entstanden waren.
auf dem Markplatz in Kamienna Góra fand unter dem Motto „Vier Marktzeiten“ eine Veranstaltungsreihe statt, die an bedeutende Feiertage in der jeweiligen Jahreszeit anknüpfte.
Lubawka veranstaltete Workshops über die schlesischen Weber in Chełmsko Śląskie.
in Lubomierz wurde der Stadtpark revitalisiert.
auf dem Marktplatz in Bolesławiec wurden aus Keramik gefertigte Sitzgelegenheiten aufgestellt.
in Żary wurde ein Teil der historischen Wehranlage restauriert und eine Ausstellung über die Befestigungsanlagen der Stadt im 16. Jahrhundert installiert.
Ebenso organisierten die Partner gemeinsam eine grenzüberschreitende Wanderausstellung, die sie in die beiden Bereiche „Früher und heute“ sowie „Kulturerbe“ unterteilten und von Juli bis November 2020 in allen Partnerstädten zeigten.
Die die Bemühungen der Partnerstädte unterstützenden Wissenschaftler führten eine Analyse der auf die Lebensqualität in den Klein- und Mittelstädten des sächsisch-polnischen Grenzraums Einfluss nehmenden Faktoren durch, auf deren Grundlage Hinweise und Empfehlungen für eine zukunftsfähige, nachhaltige und grenzüberschreitende Entwicklung der Stadtlandschaft im Grenzraum vorgelegt wurden.
REVIVAL! wurde im Rahmen des Wettbewerbs „Kooperation ohne Grenzen“ vom Bundesministerium des Innern, für Bau und Heimat (BMI) in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Ministerium für Investition und wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Republik Polen als Flaggschiffprojekt des Gemeinsamen Zukunftskonzepts für den deutsch-polnischen Verflechtungsraum – Vision 2030 ausgezeichnet.
