Description (FR): Les PME FR et GB sont relativement moins engagés dans l’exportation que les autres pays de l’UE (Eurostat: 2016). Nos recherches indiquent que de nombreuses PME envisagent d’exporter/d’augmenter leurs ventes internationales mais s’inquiètent de le faire seules. Elles ont besoin d’un ensemble de soutien technologique et de conseils continus: offert par E-Channel.
E-Channel fournit une plateforme électronique d’exportation transfrontalière pour aider les PME (agroalimentaire) dans la zone FMA á développer leur activité via l’exportation transmanche. 2 partenaires: V+ (Plymouth GB) et Soledis (Vannes FR) exploitent des modelés réussis pour la croissance des PME en utilisant le e-commerce. V+ s’est concentré sur B2C et Soledis en B2B.
En mettant en commun l’expertise technique et la connaissance du marché culturel spécifique nous créerons [1] une solution technique de e-commerce unique axée sur l’exportation pour les PME: la plateforme E-Channel [2] soutenir les PME avec les outils de cette plateforme/adapter leurs stratégies de e-commerce via les rampes en GB & FR. Les outils/technologie utilisés par les PME sur la plateforme E-Channel leur seront uniques, en fonction de leur préparation á l’exportation, stade de développement et meilleurs marchés pour leurs produits. Les pratiques de travail des PME seront modifiés en travaillant avec des données en temps réel via leur tableau de bord de la plateforme E-Channel.
Ce modèle unique guide les PME dans l’utilisation des outils de la plateforme. Les rampes permettent aux PME d’intégrer leur présence en ligne grâce aux services d’exportation adaptés á leur gamme de produits/échelle de fonctionnement: y compris marketing dans une autre langue/culture, logistique de livraison, paiement, taux de change, et processus administratifs légaux.
Les outils de la plateforme utilisés et les services associés seront revus régulièrement par un GdC travaillant avec chaque PME; cela maintient l’accent s ur la croissance des ventes. Les PME sont des partenaires actifs et recevront formation /soutien pour accéder á ces services afin d’optimiser les ventes eux-mêmes. E-Channel offre un rapport qualité-prix grâce á la fourniture d’outils/services adaptés aux besoins des PME livrés au sein d’une seule solution unifiée.
V+ soutient la croissance des marques fortes et s’attend á ce qu’après 5 ans, les PME verront des ventes de 100 000 par mois après 12/18 mois. á la fin du projet, il est prévu que la croissance se poursuivra avec un chiffre d’affaires atteignant 250 000 par mois après 4-5 ans. E-Channel est soutenu par les CdC FR et GB qui partagent notre objectif de créer des relations d’affaires internationales á long terme, opportunités d’emploi et régénération régionale. Il est prévu qu’ la fin du projet les PME resteront nos clients et que E-Channel sera disponible aux PME de la zone FMA.
Read more Description (EN): SMEs in UK & FR have comparatively less engagement in exporting, compared to other EU countries (Eurostat: 2016). Our research suggests many SMEs consider exporting/growing international sales but worry about doing this alone. They need a technology support package and ongoing advice and guidance which E-Channel offers. E-Channel provides a cross-border export e-platform to support SMEs (mainly Agro-Food) in the FCE area to grow their business through cross channel export. This Project will be delivered by two partner companies: Vertical Plus, based in Plymouth UK and Soledis, based in Vannes FR. Both partners operate successful models for growing small businesses using e-commerce. V+ has focused on B2C and Soledis on B2B. By pooling technical expertise and country specific cultural market knowledge we will create [1] a unique export focused e-commerce technical solution for participant SMEs: the E-Channel Platform [2] support SMEs with E-Channel Platform tools and adapting their e-commerce strategies through a UK & FR Launchpad. The tools and technology used by SMEs on the E-Channel Platform will be unique to them, based on their initial export readiness, their stage of development and the best e-markets for their products. SMEs working practices will be changed by working with real time e-commerce data via their E-Channel Platform dashboard. The unique E-Channel Launchpad model coaches SMEs in the use of E-Channel Platform tools. Launchpads ensure SMEs integrate their online presence with export services appropriate to their product range and scale of operation: including marketing in another language/culture, delivery logistics, payment, exchange rates, and legal administrative processes involved with export. The Platform tools used and related services will be reviewed regularly by a Launchpad AM working in partnership with each SME; there a focus on sales growth is maintained. SMEs are active partners in the E-Channel process and will receive training/support to access these services to optimise sales for themselves.
E-Channel is innovative and offers value for money through the provision of tools and services which are geared to the needs of SMEs and delivered within a single joined up solution. With their experience of e-commerce growth for strong brands, V+ expects after 5 years, SMEs will see sales reach 100,000 per month after 12/18 months. At the end of the project we expect growth to continue at this rate, with turnover reaching 250,000 a month after 4-5 years.
E-Channel focuses on Brittany/Normandy in FR and Devon/Cornwall in UK. We are endorsed by FR and GB Chambers of Commerce who share our goal to create long term, sustainable, international business relationships, employment opportunities and regional regeneration. It is envisaged that at the end of the project, participant SMEs will remain clients of V+ & Soledis and that E-Channel will be available to SMEs across the FCE.
Information added on 2020-05-18, regarding the mitigation of the effects of COVID-19 (the coronavirus pandemic that started in 2019) (English language only): In the light of COVID19, many SMEs have been forced to make changes to their business models and in doing so, have found online or delivery focused markets to be an extremely valuable way of connecting with new customers and selling new products while maintaining social distancing. E-Channel provides focused consultancy and support for online selling in new markets and is also due to launch a unique data modelling tool in June, designed to help businesses develop new plans, conduct costing assessments, organise their product inventories and act on marketing opportunities as and when they arise. This will be extremely valuable for businesses looking to move into new markets as a result of the pandemic.

Expected Outputs (FR): Le MP E-Channel concevra et développera 2 rampes de lancement: 1/GB & 1/FR qui embarqueront 24 PME dans le e-commerce avec services de soutien à l'exportation. La Plateforme E-Channel combine les outils spécifiques nécessaires à chaque PME pour atteindre de nouveaux marchés B2C et B2B. La combinaison des outils utilisés évoluera avec le parcours d'exportation des PME. Le MP est sur l'agroalimentaire, mais s'il réussit, le modèle sera applicable à d'autres secteurs dans la zone du programme FMA.
Read more Expected Outputs (EN): The E-Channel Micro Project (MP) will design and develop two Launchpads: 1 in UK, 1 in FR, which will ‘On-board’ 24 SMEs into e-commerce with services to support export. The E-Channel Platform combines the specific tools needed for each SME to reach new B2C & B2B markets for their products. The combination of tools used will evolve along with the SMEs own export journey. The MP focuses on Agro-food (AF) but if successful the model will be applicable to other sectors in the FCE programme area.
