Ce projet a pour objectif d’accroître l’attractivité de la région rurale transfrontalière (Flandre française, Wallonie Picarde, Westhoek et le Pays des 7 Vallées) et de stimuler son économie. Ses principales actions consistent à : - Développer le tourisme gastronomique. - Mettre en avant cette région transfrontalière en tant que destination innovante en matière d’entreprenariat touristique. - Transformer des produits, traditions et événements locaux en expériences contemporaines à vivre pour les visiteurs et les touristes. Pour atteindre ces objectifs, il est nécessaire d’encourager le secteur privé (producteurs régionaux et fermiers, restaurateurs, cafetiers,…) à entreprendre de manière innovante. Un forum d’intelligence collective des circuits courts permet en outre d’analyser l’offre de chaque territoire, d’inspirer les entrepreneurs et de les inciter à utiliser les produits locaux. L’innovation dans le secteur privé est stimulée par des brainstormings participatifs, la création d’un cahier de tendances, coaching individuel ou encore l’organisation d’éductours (voyages de formation). Les expériences touristiques innovantes sont soutenues par la création de nouveaux produits avec l’installation d’équipements permettant de réaliser des circuits autrement,… Le projet vise à favoriser la rencontre, l’échange d’expériences et de savoir-faire des professionnels du tourisme et d’autres entrepreneurs du secteur par la mise en place d’un projet transfrontalier.

Dit project wil de aantrekkelijkheid van de grensoverschrijdende plattelandsstreek (Frans-Vlaanderen, Picardisch Wallonië, Westhoek en het Land van de 7 Valleien) verhogen en haar economie stimuleren. De voornaamste acties zijn: - het gastronomische toerisme ontwikkelen; - deze grensstreek meer bekendheid geven als een bestemming met een innovatief toeristisch ondernemerschap; - lokale producten, tradities en evenementen omzetten in boeiende ervaringen voor de bezoekers en de toeristen. Om deze doelstellingen te bereiken, moet men de privésector aanmoedigen (regionale producenten, boeren, restauranthouders, café-uitbaters, ...) om innovatief te ondernemen. Via een forum voor collectieve intelligentie van de korte kringen kan men bovendien het aanbod van elke zone analyseren, de ondernemers inspireren en aanmoedigen om lokale producten te gebruiken. De innovatie in de privésector wordt aangemoedigd door participatieve brainstormings, de creatie van een trendboek, individuele coaching en de organisatie van educatieve reizen. De innovatieve toeristische beleving worden ondersteund door de creatie van nieuwe producten en de installatie van uitrustingen die alternatieve circuits mogelijk maken. Het project beoogt de bevordering van ontmoetingen en uitwisselingen van ervaringen en knowhow tussen de professionelen van de toeristische sector en andere ondernemers van de sector door de implementatie van een grensoverschrijdend project.

Description (EN):

The aim of this project is to increase the attractiveness of the cross-border rural region (French Flanders, Wallonia Picardy, Westhoek and the Pays des 7 Vallées) and to stimulate its economy. Its main actions consist of: - Developing gastronomic tourism. - Promoting this cross-border region as an innovative destination for tourism entrepreneurship. - Transforming local products, traditions and events into contemporary experiences for visitors and tourists. To achieve these objectives, it is necessary to encourage the private sector (regional producers and farmers, restaurateurs, cafés, etc.) to adopt innovative business practices. A forum for collective intelligence on short supply chains also makes it possible to analyse the offering available in each territory, inspire entrepreneurs and encourage them to use local products. Innovation in the private sector is stimulated by participative brainstorming, the creation of a trend book, individual coaching or the organisation of educational courses (training trips). Innovative tourism experiences are supported by the creation of new products with the installation of equipment to create alternative itineraries, etc. The project aims to promote the meeting, exchange of experiences and know-how of tourism professionals and other entrepreneurs in the sector by setting up a cross-border project.

Achievements (EN):

Rural trend book: During the four-year project period, the partners came up with many ideas, trends and tips, which were bundled in a trend book. An inspiring book for tourism entrepreneurs, for political decision-makers, for visitors, ... We have experienced and are experiencing a number of major changes in our society, in our world. New trends are also emerging that have an impact on the tourism industry. The most important trends can be found in Chapter 1. Visitors specifically come to our rural regions because they are looking for something different than in urban areas: peace, back to nature, slow tourism, cross-generational enjoyment, etc. A number of examples like you here as an entrepreneur can react, you will find inspiration in Chapter 2. During the project, many entrepreneurs received advice from experts in the field of various topics: marketing, storytelling, store design, management, online reservations and sales, interior design, management etc. We would like to share tips and advice from the coaches with you in Chapter 3. For the foodies among us, we asked chefs from our regions for some of their “signature dishes,” compiled of tasty, cross-border regional products. You can find her recipes, tips and food pairing advice in the 4th chapter. And finally, in the last chapter you will find an overview of the most important results of the project, with an open look into the future!

Il est attendue que le nombre de nuitées dans la zone concernée augmente de 2,5%, soit 68 153 nuitées supplémentaires. Pour valoriser les produits locaux, 15 coaching culinaires et 30 brainstorming participatifs seront organisés. La création d'une vingtaine d'outils et produits innovants est attendue. Un accompagnement individuel devrait être fourni par des partenaires opérateurs du projet.

Expected Results (NL):

Er wordt verwacht dat het aantal overnachtingen in de betreffende zone met 2,5% zal stijgen, dus met 68.153 bijkomende overnachtingen. Om de lokale producten te herwaarderen, zullen 15 culinaire coachings en 30 participatieve brainstormingsessies worden georganiseerd. Er zullen naar verwachting een twintigtal tools en innovatieve producten worden gecreëerd. De uitvoerende partners van het project zouden individuele begeleiding moeten verstrekken.

Expected Results (EN):

The number of overnight stays in the area is expected to increase by 2.5%, i.e. 68,153 additional overnight stays. To promote local products, 15 culinary coaching sessions and 30 participative brainstorming sessions will be organised. Around twenty innovative tools and products are expected to be created. Individual support should be provided by the project’s operating partners.

Des produits innovants, créatifs et durables devraient être développés dans le domaine du tourisme rural et gastronomique. Il est attendu que l'attractivité de la région rurale transfrontalière soit renforcée, notamment en améliorant l'adéquation de l'offre aux besoins des consommateurs. Les produits locaux seront également valorisés par des opérations de sensibilisation.

Er zouden creatieve, duurzame, innovatieve producten moeten worden ontwikkeld op het gebied van plattelands- en gastronomisch toerisme. Er wordt verwacht dat de aantrekkelijkheid van de grensoverschrijdende plattelandsstreek zal verhogen, o.a. door het aanbod beter af te stemmen op de behoeften van de consumenten. Sensibiliseringsacties zullen zorgen voor de herwaardering van lokale producten.

Expected Outputs (EN):

Innovative, creative and sustainable products should be developed in the field of rural and gastronomic tourism. It is expected that the attractiveness of the cross-border rural region will be enhanced, in particular by improving the match between the supply and consumer needs. Local products will also be promoted through awareness-raising campaigns.
