Le projet TRANSUNIV agit sur l’insertion professionnelle et la mobilité des étudiants (licence, master, doctorat) dans la zone transfrontalière. Le projet est destiné à assurer un impact durable des dispositifs de mobilité étudiante, du développement des stages ou de formations en alternance au sein des cursus de masters ainsi que des actions liées au doctorat. Cinq actions principales sont menées, dont la mise en place du séminaire “projet d’innovation”, réunissant des chercheurs issus de différentes disciplines et des acteurs socio-économiques, des partages d’expériences pour les étudiants de master, des forums pour l’emploi afin de relancer l’employabilité des doctorants et le développement d’un portail faisant office d’une véritable plateforme d’échanges d’opportunités tant du côté des entreprises et des organisations publiques que des étudiants et laboratoires de recherche. Ce portail est un véritable moteur destiné à l’optimisation et la pérennisation du projet.

The TRANSUNIV project is working on the professional integration and mobility of students (bachelor, master, doctorate) in the cross-border area. The project is intended to ensure a sustainable impact of student mobility schemes, the development of internships or work-linked training programmes within Master's programmes and doctorate-related actions. Five main actions are being carried out, including the setting up of the “innovation project” seminar, bringing together researchers from different disciplines and socio-economic stakeholders, sharing of experiences for Master's students, job forums to boost the employability of doctoral candidates and the development of a portal serving as an effective platform for the exchange of opportunities both for companies and public organisations as well as students and research laboratories. This portal is a real engine for optimising and sustaining the project.

Het project TRANSUNIV wil werk maken van de professionele integratie en de mobiliteit van (bachelor-, master- en doctoraats)studenten in de grenszone. Het project is bedoeld om een duurzame impact te verzekeren van de voorzieningen ter bevordering van de mobiliteit van studenten, de ontwikkeling van stages of leer-werktrajecten binnen mastertrajecten en acties met betrekking tot het doctoraat. Het bestaat uit vijf hoofdacties, waaronder het opzetten van het seminarie ‘Innovatieproject’, dat onderzoekers uit verschillende vakgebieden en sociaaleconomische actoren verenigt; de uitwisseling van ervaringen voor masterstudenten; jobbeurzen om de inzetbaarheid van de doctoraatstudenten te bevorderen; en de creatie van een portaal voor de uitwisseling van mogelijkheden, zowel voor ondernemingen en openbare instanties als voor studenten en onderzoekslaboratoria. Dit portaal is echt een motor, bestemd voor de optimalisatie en bestendiging van het project.

Achievements (FR):

Le projet Interreg TransUniv touche bientôt à sa fin et les réalisations sont nombreuses. Il a joué un rôle de facilitateur pour la mobilité et l’ insertion professionnelle des Masters et doctorants des établissements partenaires en les rapprochant des principaux acteurs socio-économiques de la zone transfrontalière Hauts-de-France-Wallonie-Flandre. Sans cet apport, de nombreuses actions n’auraient pas pu voir le jour. Ce second semestre de 2020 a de nouveau été marqué par la crise sanitaire qui a eu un impact sur l’activité du projet et sur la tenue des événements. L’embellie et les mesures sanitaires moins strictes du début du semestre ont fait croire que les actions à venir auraient pu se dérouler en présentiel. Mais à l’automne, le virus a fait son retour et les partenaires ont dû revoir le format des événements. Néanmoins ils ont continué à se réunir, à préparer et à adapter les événements en fonction des mesures sanitaires. Côté communication, nos principaux outils sont le site internet et les réseaux sociaux (twitter et facebook). Depuis sa création, le site a beaucoup évolué. A l’origine il devait être une plateforme mais il a été réorienté vers un site “vitrine” du projet. Avec les partenaires, nous l’avons mis à jour et fait évoluer en termes de “structure” à la fin du 1er semestre 2020. Une nouvelle proposition a été faite en concertation avec les partenaires du projet et mise en œuvre en novembre 2020. Les publics cibles sont identifiés dès la première page du site, les actions apparaissent sous forme de menu déroulant sous les publics cibles, il est responsive, en 3 langues et peut être visualisé sur smartphone. Les contenus sont mis à jour régulièrement. Cela permet à tous les étudiant.e.s et Doctorant.e.s de la zone transfrontalière d’avoir accès à la même information. Les séminaires «projets d’innovation», dont l’objectif est de créer une collaboration concrète entre universités et un ou plusieurs partenaires non académiques (compagnies, organisations publiques ou privées) de la région transfrontalière, se déroulent pendant 3 jours. Les doctorant-e-s de toutes les disciplines sont amené-e-s à travailler ensemble sur des questions préalablement déterminées par des chercheurs seniors et à proposer des solutions innovantes. Trois éditions ont été organisées : une en 2018 à Mons autour du thème des « smart cities », une en 2019 à Valenciennes sur le thème de la « santé digitale ». La troisième édition s’est tenue ce semestre en digital sur le thème de l’ « économie circulaire ». Ces moments sont très importants pour la coopération transfrontalière car c’est de là que peuvent émerger de nouveaux projets, de nouvelles collaborations. Les doctorants, chercheurs et entreprises viennent d’horizons très différents et travaillent en équipe pluridisciplinaires pendant cet événement. La formation et l’insertion professionnelle sont au cœur du projet Transuniv. Depuis le début plus de 200 Doctorant.e.s ont suivi des formations en présentiel ou, dernièrement, en format numérique. Chaque partenaire a proposé et organisé des formations qui ont permis de faire-rencontrer des jeunes chercheurs d’horizons différents. L’insertion se matérialise par les forums emploi. Pour les 2 éditions organisées en 2018 à Gand et en 2019 à Mons, les doctorants ont bénéficié de contacts privilégiés avec des professionnels. Ils ont également pu assister à de nombreux ateliers destinés à les préparer au processus de recrutement. La prochaine édition est prévue en début d’année 2021. Elle se déroulera finalement en version 100% digitale à cause de mesures sanitaires et en 3 étapes (analyse CV, ateliers en ligne et recrutement). Enfin, l’organisation des visites d’entreprises sous l’angle de la politique RH et de l’employabilité des différents profils a été lancée lors de ce semestre. Elle a touché les Doctorant.e.s. Mais au vu des mesures sanitaires, les entreprises ont proposé des interventions et “visites” en ligne. Cette approche fut très intéressante. Elle a permis de faire découvrir des institutions/entreprises de la zone transfrontalière. Dans l’idée de faciliter la mobilité transfrontalière, les partenaires se sont attelés à la rédaction du « guide pour un stage original ». Celui-ci vise à favoriser et à amplifier la mobilité des étudiants en offrant une multitude d’informations de qualité. Il aborde tous les aspects liés à la mobilité. Le guide est sorti à la fin de l'année 2020. Il a été réalisé en appui avec des acteurs socio-économiques et des étudiants. Il s’agit d’une réelle plus-value dans ce projet. Des actions de promotion du projet ont eu lieu en début d’année. Ce fut notamment le cas lors d’un forum emploi, le 11 février, à destination des masters à l’université de Lille. Nous avons tenu un stand et présenté le projet lors de la conférence d’introduction. Nous sommes également intervenus lors de la “journée des jeunes chimistes” le 6 mars à l’Université de Namur afin de parler du projet. Un contact privilégié a été établi avec la société Deweflex/Dewaconnect. Cela nous a permis de participer à des réunions en février et en juin afin de parler des actions menées. Le but est de créer de futures collaborations avec le monde socio-économique. Les appels d’aide à la mobilité transfrontalière pour les doctorants et étudiants sont restés ouverts mais il n’y a pas eu de demande. Les étudiants avaient peu de visibilité sur les conditions de voyage, des mesures sanitaires ou encore d’accueil dans les entreprises.

Achievements (EN):

The Interreg TRANSUNIV project is coming to an end and there are many achievements. He has been a facilitator for the mobility and professional integration of Masters and PhD students from partner institutions by bringing them closer to the main socio-economic actors of the Hauts-de-France-Wallonie-Flandre cross-border area. Without this contribution, many actions would not have been possible. The second half of 2020 was again marked by the health crisis that had an impact on the project activity and the holding of events. The embellishment and less stringent health measures at the beginning of the semester suggested that future actions could have taken place in face-to-face. But in the fall, the virus returned and the partners had to review the format of the events. Nevertheless, they continued to meet, prepare and adapt events according to health measures. On the communication side, our main tools are the website and social networks (twitter and facebook). Since its creation, the site has evolved a lot. Originally it had to be a platform but it was redirected to a “shower” site of the project. With the partners, we updated it and evolved in terms of “structure” at the end of the first half of 2020. A new proposal was made in consultation with the project partners and implemented in November 2020. The target audiences are identified from the first page of the site, the actions appear as a drop-down menu under the target audiences, it is responsive, in 3 languages and can be viewed on smartphone. The contents are updated regularly. This allows all students and PhD students in the cross-border area to have access to the same information. The “innovation projects” seminars, the aim of which is to create concrete collaboration between universities and one or more non-academic partners (companies, public or private organisations) of the cross-border region, take place for 3 days. Doctoral students from all disciplines are led to work together on issues previously determined by senior researchers and to propose innovative solutions. Three editions were organised: one in 2019 in Valenciennes on the theme of “digital health”. The third edition was held this semester in digital on the theme of the “circular economy”. These moments are very important for cross-border cooperation because this is where new projects and collaborations can emerge. PhD students, researchers and companies come from very different backgrounds and work in multidisciplinary teams during this event. Training and professional integration are at the heart of the TRANSUNIV project. Since the beginning, more than 200 Doctorant.e.s have been trained in face-to-face or, recently, in digital format. Each partner offered and organised training courses that made it possible to meet young researchers from different backgrounds. The insertion materialises through the job forums. For the 2 editions organised in 2018 in Ghent and in 2019 in Mons, doctoral students benefited from privileged contacts with professionals. They were also able to attend numerous workshops to prepare them for the recruitment process. The next edition is scheduled for the beginning of 2021. It will finally take place in 100 % digital version due to sanitary measures and in 3 steps (CV analysis, online workshops and recruitment). Finally, the organisation of company visits in terms of HR policy and the employability of the various profiles was launched during this semester. But in view of the health measures, companies offered interventions and “visits” online. This approach was very interesting. It made it possible to discover institutions/companies from the cross-border area. In the idea of facilitating cross-border mobility, the partners began drafting the “guide to an original traineeship”. It aims to promote and amplify student mobility by offering a multitude of quality information. It addresses all aspects related to mobility. The guide was released at the end of 2020. It was carried out in support of socio-economic actors and students. This is a real added value in this project. Promotion of the project took place at the beginning of the year. This was particularly the case during a job forum on February 11st, for masters at the University of Lille. We held a stand and presented the project at the introductory conference. We also spoke on the “Young Chemists’ Day” on March 6th at the University of Namur to talk about the project. A privileged contact has been established with Deweflex/Dewaconnect. This allowed us to participate in meetings in February and June to discuss the actions taken. The goal is to create future collaborations with the socio-economic world. Calls for cross-border mobility assistance for doctoral students and students remained open but there were no applications. Students had little visibility on travel conditions, sanitary measures or reception measures in companies.

Mise en place de modules de formation partagés : 16 sessions de formation pour les doctorants et 16 séminaires interactifs formant ainsi 240 doctorants au total; organisation de 3 salons d'emploi (un par région) ; Une "jobs week" annuelle ; Une quarantaine d'entreprises participeront aux séminaires d'innovation. Mise en place d'un portail interrégional recensant l'ensemble des activités et formations mises en place dans le cadre du projet TRANSUNIV. Plus de 1315 personnes participeront aux initiatives locales au total.

Expected Results (EN):

Implementation of shared training modules: Sixteen training sessions for doctoral students and 16 interactive seminars training a total of 240 doctoral students; organisation of 3 job fairs (one per region); an annual “jobs week”; about forty companies will participate in innovation seminars. Setting up an interregional portal listing all the activities and training courses organised as part of the TRANSUNIV project. A total of more than 1315 people will participate in local initiatives.

Implementatie van gedeelde opleidingsmodules: 16 opleidingssessies voor de doctoraatsstudenten en 16 interactieve seminaries, om in totaal 240 doctoraatsstudenten op te leiden; organisatie van drie jobbeurzen (één per regio); een jaarlijkse jobweek; en innovatieseminaries, waaraan een veertigtal ondernemingen zullen deelnemen. Implementatie van een interregionaal portaal, waarop alle activiteiten en opleidingen, georganiseerd in het kader van het project TRANSUNIV worden gepubliceerd. In totaal zullen meer dan 1315 personen aan de lokale initiatieven deelnemen.
