Due to the reputation they gained in the past, the regions of the Mediterranean area have so far been separate on the tourist markets. However, globalisation means competing with new tourist destinations and requires new organisational models other than those that made our localities successful in the past. The factors that determine the quality and variety of local offer (sustainability, business models and governance) rely on correct information management and the quick provision of comprehensive and accessible answers to the changing tourist information and customisation needs. SMART DESTINATION aims to support and relaunch the competitiveness of transnational tourism chains by integrating the local tourism offer with the information flows and databases currently available to the public-private system. A partnership of the various powers, interests and stakeholders involved in the cross-border area will initiate activities to achieve the following: 1 - A common architecture with shared application interfaces (APIs) to integrate a selection of local data and enable businesses to market cross-border products and users to use a borderless system 2 - A joint action Plan for the cross-border area to complete the implementation of the system, disseminate technology solutions and open to third parties, companies and users 3 – Test the SMART DESTINATION model in the cross-border pilot areas for efficiency and potential in different contexts 4 - Involve Regions, companies, organisations, associations and sector stakeholders every step of the way through innovative (Living Lab) and traditional approaches.

Les Régions méditerrannéennes organisent leur promotion jusqu'à lors de manière séparée, forts d'une notoriété acquise dans le passé. Le contexte mondialisé génère pourtant une compétition avec de nouvelles destinations touristiques toujours plus compétitives e nécessite des modèles d'organisation différents de ceux qui ont assuré le succès à nos territoires. Dans ce contexte, SMART DESTINATION vise à soutenir et relancer la compétitivité des filières transnationales du tourisme en mettant en œuvre un processus d'intégration et d'interopérabilité des flux d'information et des bases de données actuellement à disposition du système public-privé en cohérence avec l'offre touristique territoriale. Ceci au travers d' d'activités guidées par un partenariat représentatif des différents pouvoirs et d'intérêts impliqués et partagées par les acteurs de la zone transfrontalière visant à: 1- Définir et partager une architecture informatique comune avec des interfaces de programation (API) communes pour intégrer une sélection de données locales, permettant aux entreprises de commercialiser des produits transfrontaliers et aux usagers d'utiliser un système existant qui fonctionnera au-delà des frontières. 2-Elaborer un Plan d'Action conjoint pour la zone transfrontalière pour compléter la mise en œuvre et le maintien du système, disséminer les solutions technologiques, prévoyant l'ouverture à des tiers, entreprises et utilisateurs. 3-Expérimenter le modèle SMART DESTINATION dans les zones transfrontalières pilotes pour en vérifier l'efficacité et la potenitalité dans des contextes différenciés. 4-Impliquer dans toutes les phases du travail Régions, entreprises, organisations, associations et acteurs du secteur au travers d'approches innovantes (Living Lab) et traditionnelles.

Le Regioni dell’area mediterranea si sono fino ad oggi proposte separatamente sui mercati turistici, forti di una notorietà acquisita in passato. Il contesto globalizzato impone tuttavia il confronto con nuove destinazioni turistiche sempre più competitive e richiede modelli organizzativi diversi da quelli che hanno assicurato il successo alle nostre località. La chiave di una corretta gestione dei fattori che determinano la qualità e la varietà dell’offerta territoriale (sostenibilità, modelli business e governance) risiede nel governo dell’informazione e nella capacità di fornire risposte rapide, complete e accessibili alle mutate esigenze d’informazione e personalizzazione del turista. In questo contesto SMART DESTINATION mira a sostenere e rilanciare la competitività delle filiere transnazionali del turismo avviando un percorso d’integrazione dei flussi d’informazione e delle banche dati attualmente a disposizione del sistema pubblico-privato con l’offerta turistica territoriale. Attraverso un percorso di attività guidato da un partenariato rappresentativo dei vari poteri ed interessi coinvolti e partecipato da stakeholder dell’area transfrontaliera il progetto ambisce a: 1-Identificare un'architettura comune con interfacce applicative (API) condivise per integrare una selezione di dati locali, permettendo alle impresedi commercializzare prodotti transfrontalieri e agli utenti di usare un sistema senza frontiere 2-Concordare un Piano di azione congiunto per l’area transfrontaliera, per completare l’implementazione del sistema, diffondere le soluzioni tecnologiche, prevedendo l’apertura a terzi soggetti, imprese ed utenti 3-Sperimentare il modello di SMART DESTINATION nelle aree trasfrontaliere pilota per verificarne efficienza e potenzialità in contesti differenti 4-Coinvolgere in ogni fase del percorso di lavoro Regioni, imprese, enti, associazioni e stakeholder di settore mediante approcci innovativi (Living Lab) e tradizionali
