MATRAC-acp contribuisce ad accrescere la protezione delle acque marine nei porti migliorando la qualità del monitoraggio mediante la definizione di protocolli innovativi basati sull'utilizzo di sistemi robotizzati ad elevata automazione e di metodologie di campionamento adattivo. I porti potranno garantire un monitoraggio delle acque più efficace, ripetitivo ed accurato, utilizzando procedure omogenee, mediante soluzioni tecnologiche scalabili in termini di cooperazione tra sistemi robotizzati, sistemi automatici ed operatori umani. Ciò permetterà di utilizzare le tecnologie innovative proposte in conformità alla normativa vigente sull'utilizzo di veicoli robotizzati nelle acque marine, dotando i porti di sistemi efficaci per fronteggiare situazioni di emergenza minimizzando il rischio per gli operatori umani, e di migliorare le prestazioni delle metodologie tradizionali tramite il supporto di tecnologie robotiche e di strategie più efficaci di campionamento. L'attività sarà validata in collaborazione con le autorità portuali di Genova e di Tolone, città sedi di eccellenze a livello europeo e mondiale nel settore della ricerca sulle tecnologie robotiche e di automazione nel settore marino-marittimo. La presenza dei laboratori di robotica marina del CNR e di IFREMER, con una cooperazione ventennale nell'ambito di progetti di ricerca europei, e di porti commerciali di grande rilevanza all'interno della zona transfrontaliera rende possibile lo sviluppo di tecnologie e protocolli di monitoraggio innovativi in grado non solo di contribuire al miglioramento dell'impatto ecologico ed ambientale dei porti sulle città e le coste limitrofe, ma anche di aprire la strada alla produzione di nuovi servizi e prodotti da parte dell'indotto di PMI presenti sul territorio. L'approccio transfrontaliero permette di proporre soluzioni tecnologiche, procedurali-operative e normative estendibili a livello europeo.

This project will bolster the protection of port marine waters by improving monitoring quality with the help of innovative protocols based on highly automated robotic systems and adaptive sampling methodologies. The ports will have more productive, repetitive and accurate water monitoring. They will use standard procedures based on scalable technological solutions in terms of cooperation between robotic systems, automatic systems and human operators. This method will make it possible to use said innovative technologies in compliance with the current legislation on robotic vehicles in marine waters. It will equip ports with effective emergency systems while minimising human operator risk. It will improve the performance of traditional methods with the support of robotic technologies and more effective sampling strategies. It will be validated in collaboration with the port authorities of Genoa and Toulon, European and world level centres of excellence for robotics and automation research in the marine-maritime sector. For the past twenty years, the CNR and IFREMER marine robotics laboratories have been cooperating on European research projects. They are part of the cross-border area along with major commercial ports. This allows for the development of innovative technologies and monitoring protocols. In addition to improving the ecological and environmental impact of ports on neighbouring cities and coasts, these innovations can pave the way for new services and products connected to local SMEs. The cross-border approach allows to propose technological, procedural-operative and regulatory solutions extensible at European level.

Le projet MATRAC-ACP vise à améliorer les procédures de protection environnementale en zone côtière et portuaire à travers le développement de nouveaux protocoles de monitoring et suivi instrumentale adaptatif par des systèmes robotisés. Les acteurs chargés de la protection environnementale dans les ports pourront bénéficier d'outils et procédures pour réaliser des mesures significatives et répétables, à travers un approche technologique innovant basé sur la coopération entre l'opérateur et le système robotisé. Les ports bénéficierons de systèmes efficaces pour prévenir et contrer le risques environnementales liées à l'exploitation commerciale de ces zones. L'utilisation des moyens robotisés est mise en avant pour améliorer le coûts et les délais associés aux activités d' échantillonnage et mesure in situ. Les développements technologiques seront validés en coopération avec les autorités maritimes qui gèrent les ports de Gênes et Toulon, villes qui se distinguent à niveau européen pour l'excellence dans le domaine technologique de la robotique sous-marine. La coopération renouvelée à travers plusieurs projets européens au cours des derniers vingt ans entre les laboratoires de robotique et automatique du CNR et de l'IFREMER ainsi que l'accompagnement offert par les principaux ports du bassin ligure, permettront d’assurer le développement et la validation expérimentale et scientifique de solutions innovantes pour la gestion de l'impacte environnementale de l'exploitation commerciale des côtes. Ceci permettra aussi l' ouverture vers la création des nouveaux services et donc un fort potentiel ultérieur de valorisation au niveau du tissus des PME locales. Le caractère innovant du projet par son approche transversale et générique comprenant méthodes, procédures et moyens robotisés de mise en ouvre ne se limite pas à l'axe franco-italien et sera naturellement valorisable à travers l'application dans d'autres ports.
