Description (EN):

This project’s common challenge is to recover the cultural identity of the populations in the transhumance areas of Tuscany, Sardinia and Corsica and avoid the loss of the regional cultural heritage. Its objectives are as follows: supporting and encouraging new economies based on places and trades from the past through the professional training of young people and innovation, which will stimulate the tourism-environment-culture supply chain; bringing back transhumance-related traditions, trades and professions and making them accessible to all, to create professional opportunities for young people (18 years) through training, intercultural/intergenerational exchange and the involvement of local actors; telling the stories of places risking depopulation and disappearing trades linked to the access and responsible use of the land, environmental and cultural heritage. Outcomes: 1. New skills and professions recognised at a transnational level; 2. Development of eco-tourism for young people and locals. The project’s integrated approach considers social, ethical and economic dynamics as inseparable from the environment. Its cardinal principles will be knowledge of the land and its dynamics and the participation of local communities and specific stakeholders. Participation will enhance all project activities and make them sustainable over time within a cross-border perspective. The innovation lies in focusing on the "old" to help young people enter the world of work with non-cognitive and non-formal skills, a bottom-up process and innovative communication and tourism tools.

Défi commun: retrouver l'identité culturelle des populations dans les zones touchées par la transhumance en Toscane, Sardaigne et Corse, et pour éviter la perte du patrimoine culturel régional avec les objectifs suivants: soutenir et encourager, grâce à la formation professionnelle des jeunes et de l'innovation, la naissance de nouvelles économies des lieux et des « métiers du passé », stimuler l'industrie de l'environnement culture du tourisme, mettant en lumière les traditions, l'artisanat, les professions qui ont accompagné la pratique de la transhumance et de les rendre accessibles à tous; créer des opportunités d'emploi pour les jeunes 18 ans,grâce à la formation, l'échange interculturel et inter-générationnel et l'implication des acteurs locaux. Raconter les lieux à risque dépeuplement et l'artisanat liés à l'accès et l'utilisation responsable du territoire, du patrimoine environnementale et culturel. Output:1.Stimuler le developpement de nouvelles professions reconnus à un niveau transnational; 2.Développer l'écotourisme pour les jeunes et les locaux. Approche: intégrée entre tous les sujets impliqués, prend en compte la dynamique des sphères sociale, éthique, économique, inséparablement liée à l'environnement lui-même. Pour ce faire, nous adopterons une approche qui a comme principes de base la connaissance du territoire, à travers l'implication des communautés locales et des parties prenantes. La participation est le principal outil de valorisation de chaque activité que le projet va poursuivre à long terme, en prenant en compte, l'orientation transfrontalière. L'innovation consiste à se concentrer sur les «anciens» pour accompagner les jeunes dans le monde du travail, en privilégiant les compétences non cognitives et non formelles avec un processus bottom up et l'utilisation d'outils d'innovation en communication appliqués au tourisme.

Sfida comune: recuperare l'identità culturale delle popolazioni nelle aree interessate dalla transumanza di Toscana, Sardegna e Corsica, ed evitare la perdita del patrimonio culturale regionale con gli obiettivi di: sostenere e favorire, attraverso la formazione professionale dei giovani e l'innovazione, la nascita di nuove economie che a partire dai luoghi e dai “mestieri del passato"che stimolino la filiera turismo-ambiente-cultura; riportare alla luce le tradizioni, i mestieri, le professioni che hanno accompagnato la pratica della transumanza e renderli accessibili a tutti; creare opportunità d'inserimento professionale ai giovani (18 anni) attraverso formazione, scambio interculturale/intergenerazionale e coinvolgimento di attori locali. Raccontare i luoghi a rischio spopolamento e i mestieri in via di scomparsa legati all’accesso e alla fruizione responsabile del territorio, del patrimonio ambientale e culturale. Output: 1. nascita di nuove competenze e professionalità riconosciute a livello transnazionale; 2. Sviluppoo dell'eco-turismo a favore dei giovani e dei locali. Approccio: integrato tra tutti i soggetti coinvolti, tiene conto delle dinamiche delle sfere sociali, etiche, economiche, inscindibilmente legate all’ambiente stesso. Per fare questo si adotterà un approccio che ha come principi cardine la conoscenza del territorio e delle sue dinamiche e la partecipazione, tramite il coinvolgimento di comunità locali e specifici portatori di interesse. La partecipazione è lo strumento principale per valorizzare ciascuna attività che il progetto porterà avanti e renderle sostenibili nel lungo periodo, tenendo conto, sia a livello teorico che pratico, dell'orientamento transfrontaliero. L'innovazione è puntare sul "vecchio" per accompagnare i giovani nel mondo del lavoro concentrandosi su competenze non cognitive e non formali, con un processo bottom-up e con l'utilizzo di strumenti di innovazione della comunicazione e del turismo.

Achievements (EN):

In the months following the official launch of the METAVIE project in March 2019, project partners, under the coordination of the lead FAR MAREMMA, focused on the preparation of the joint training plan, on the implementation of the plan on their territory and on the identification of the schools to contribute to the project. In Tuscany, the 4th C-Class by ISI Leopoldo II di Lorena de Grossetto, consisting of 26 students, selected, and two 4th grade classes of ITC for Sardinia. Gino Zappa from Isili, a total of around 25 students. In Corsica, a selection of students from different institutions was chosen to involve only students who were really interested in the subject. As a result, 15 students were selected. The joint training plan was not only the subject of an agreement between the partners, but was also communicated to teachers and the management of the educational institutions concerned before its official graduation in December 2019. Therefore, from December 2019, face-to-face lessons and excursions with the affected students began. However, due to the COVID-19 emergency, the METAVIE project suffered a significant setback, leading to a sudden interruption of all ongoing activities with the schools. Nevertheless, and despite considerable difficulties, the partners did their utmost to continue the activities with the schools by converting part of it into virtual remote meetings and continuing to carry out the others in person as much as possible. Classes and excursions with the participating students started in December 2019. However, the METAVIE project had to be abruptly discontinued due to the COVID-19 emergency, resulting in the cessation of all activities involving schools. Nevertheless, and with enormous difficulties, the partners sought to continue the activities with the schools by converting part of it into virtual remote meetings and continuing to conduct the others in person as much as possible. The training meetings with students were completed in May 2021 and a general virtual meeting of participating students was organised on 3 June. In addition, a miniguide with a map and a description of the three geo-referenced transhumance routes was created thanks to the METAVIE project, which can be downloaded HERE.
